Chapter 70: The Sparrows

"Lastly, he’s a prick who only talks with his group. A bastard who won’t think properly and had someone remind him of this and that. He’s also a selfish dude who’s weak mentally."

Cillian gave an honest answer to Fergus to satisfy his curiosity about Aster. Of course, he had to remain himself by saying his full name due to his All-Knowing Piece, knowing it might trigger the effect of his passive.

Cillian gave Fergus an honest answer to satisfy his curiosity about Aster. Of course, he refrain himself giving his full name, knowing it might trigger the All-Knowing Piece, something Cillian was aware of even before he got transmigrated here.

Fergus was the opposite.

Once in a while, in their talk, Cillian had to hear Fergus mumbling Aster’s full name under his breath, cursing and using the most derogatory words he could think of.

Even without confirming it, Cillian was pretty much positive that Fergus was talking to himself in his head, cursing Aster every chance he got.

Aster was really on his mind.

Just imagining is quite an amusing thing for Cillian.

’Crazy... Maybe Aster has heard his voice while he’s still in the Academy. Does that mean he was always aware of Fergus because his All-Knowing’s passive triggers every time? Talk about having a crazed follower.’

Fergus was not right in the head. It was obvious from the way their conversation flowed and the reactions Cillian got from him from time to time.

And it’s been a freaking hour.

Cillian had to talk to this bastard for an hour so he wouldn’t search him once he was out of here.

"You say all the bad things about him."

Fergus commented with a suggestive tone.

"I mean, everything is bad about him."

Fergus paused after hearing Cillian’s reply, his expression turning cold. As if he wanted to say something, he instead gave a faint smile that he forced onto his face.

"I see. Okay, you can continue packing up."

"I’ll leave right away. I’m pretty much done here, anyway."

Cillian grabbed his bag, put it behind him, and left the room in a span of a few seconds. He really doesn’t want to stay any longer in that room, especially with someone like Fergus, whom he knew all too well from his body and through the novel.

Fergus, who was alone in the room, watched Cillian leave downstairs with a cold expression.

"You say all the bad things about him."

Fergus paused.

"Yet why did Aster Densworth say otherwise? He talks about you as if you’re some sort of best friend."

...

Bright blue skies, crowded buildings, stalls and stores, vehicles and horses. If there’s one thing Cillian could describe about being outside, then it has to be a breath of fresh air.

’After one week of being monitored by those Viola bastards, I’m finally out.’

He was currently standing outside the Viola Manor, where some of the survivors who had decided to rest still remained. After all, there was no time limit for staying there. In fact, the smarter ones might use this opportunity to form a connection with the Lord.

Cillian ain’t doing allat.

"Outside!"

Cillian huffed excitedly.

Instead of only reading everything from the books he had read in the library, Cillian will finally get to experience the outside world instead of only staying inside the academy.

’I have pocket money given to me. The currency is the same old copper, silver, and gold coins. There are also banknotes where you receive money in bulk.’

Cillian smiled and laughed in joy.

"Cliché!"

He doesn’t mind if the money is the usual currency or not. The banknotes are also used in some novels, but who really cares?!

The important thing is being free. Free!

"Cillian."

Yet all the imagination running through his head was all gone to waste when someone called the name that made him turn.

After the incident with not remembering Freya from his jumbled memories that are mixing with him and the real owner of his body, Cillian tried to remember everything there is to know about the previous Cillian Sparrow. Only the things that the previous Cillian Sparrow possessed, though.

He cannot remember the time when he was a baby and still trying to gain consciousness, or anything related to a chunky memories.

But seeing the three people in front of him isn’t something the previous Cillian was going to forget.

It’s been a little over three or so months since the last time the previous Cillian saw them, and that was the time he entered the academy.

His Father, Leo Sparrow. His Mother, Esther Sparrow. And his little sister, Ella Sparrow.

Honestly, Cillian felt nothing for them. He was just possessing his body, and he had almost perfect control of his emotions that the previous Cillian’s emotions were not bothering him anymore.

He had to control them to avoid reacting too strongly, like the time his body reacted violently when he first met Aster in this world. After that, he changed.

All that was left now were the previous memories that were still stuck in his head.

Is it right to call this figure his Father?

Cillian doesn’t know.

But who cares? The previous Cillian didn’t even have good memories of this family, merely acting as a puppet to become good friends with Fergus. At least that’s what the previous Cillian apparently saw.

"Father."

Cillian said flatly, without even a tone of respect.

"We’ve come to get you. Lord Khalish informed us that you’ll be leaving today. You didn’t even bother contacting us at all."

’I was planning on just leaving you guys all alone and exploring the world myself until we return to the Academy. I can’t say that now, can I?’

Cillian snickered that made his family watch their son with a dubious look. Not even bothered by the way they look, he replied flatly.

"Thank you for coming."

’Well, even with the painful memories he received from this family, Cillian Sparrow still loved them. I guess I can do this after I possess your body? As a way to pay for barging through here. Loving them is a bit too much, though. Taking care is enough?’

Cillian added inwardly before following the Sparrows behind their back. A few minutes later, they entered a low-class vehicle that was engineered with magic stones instead of oil or gasoline.

Along the road, they had never talked to each other as if they were complete strangers. While they did, Cillian couldn’t help but think about his parents back on Earth.

’I’m kinda missing you guys. The new... well, I guess, the new family I had in here did not even come close to you two.’

Cillian smiled faintly as he slept in the car quite well, something he wasn’t able to do for the past week.
