Chapter 1352: Chapter 1351: Good Weather

Sometimes political stance and personal affiliation are enigmatic concepts that need to be highlighted.

In certain regimes, such as Gafura and Peng Jieao’s monarchies, the monarchs vehemently oppose their subjects forming various small groups.

This implies that they are resisting the imperial power or at least have notions to resist it; the purpose of banding together can hardly be to counter others.

However, in a free system like the Federation, forming alliances has become a skill that every politician must master.

From forming factions to banding together within those factions, alliance-building permeates every corner of the Federation Government, and everyone must skillfully express these relationships.

It essentially conveys a message—

"Don’t f**king mess with me, I’m not alone."

This political ecological environment, which is the complete opposite of a monarchy, also demonstrates the superiority of the federal system in various aspects...

Liberal, free, equal, just—these are the core political values of the Federation, if you believe it.

Mr. Truman spoke up, Lynch glanced at him, and they shared a brief eye contact before Lynch sat down.

Others persuading Lynch is not as effective as Mr. Truman doing so, which also reflects a mutual political image between them.

Next time someone wants to deal with Mr. Truman, they first have to think about how to handle Lynch.

Actually, Mr. Truman knew that Lynch had recently assassinated the Emperor of Gafura, and regarding this matter... he had his own thoughts too.

Major General looked at Mr. Truman with gratitude; at this point, Lynch was no longer the Lynch of the past. One must respect his opinions because he’s wealthy and maintains good relations with the Federation Government’s top officials.

Even within the Military, many people have a good relationship with Lynch because he’s rich and doesn’t mind spending money.

"We can hypothesize that there’s a group of malicious extremists in Mariluo who do not wish for Mariluo to welcome a long-overdue peace."

"Because once Mariluo’s situation stabilizes and reconstructs a military government ruling group centered around the Central Government, it would be fatal to these extremists."

"So they want to prevent this, and the simplest way to prevent this... is assassination!"

Mr. Truman gave everyone time to fully understand his words, spending about a dozen seconds on it.

Then he continued, "We will find from some records that these people have existed for a long time, but have not received attention."

"On the one hand, their group isn’t large enough for us to notice the movements of small groups."

"Secondly, their goal is to create chaos to extract benefits from it."

The people in the Strategic Command understood Mr. Truman’s meaning; they are to create some "history" for Mariluo, and this manufactured "history" will exist in various archive documents.

For example, the Federation had been observing these people years ago, with some intermittent records.

Mariluo people wouldn’t know about this; amidst the long-standing chaos, who would care about those small groups wandering around?

And this precisely creates a "historical vacuum" that the Federation will help fill, eventually becoming the "truth."

Actually, whether it’s the truth sometimes doesn’t matter; what matters is that people need a "truth"!

This sounds a bit complicated and hard to understand, why would people need false information?

Simply put, when a husband feels his son doesn’t look like him but rather like the community plumber, he doesn’t need his wife to tell him, "Yes, I let loose one day and that’s how this child came."

He doesn’t need that; it would make him collapse. He needs only his wife to say, "I love you, you’re my one and only."

People’s emotions often need "lies," and when the truth is truly the truth, they can’t accept it instead.

Because lies are always woven into the shapes people need, whereas the truth has sharp edges and isn’t so comfortable.

As opposed to the Federation’s high-pressure interventions on Mariluo, those military and government officials prefer to believe that it’s all caused by some damn extremist organization members.

Be it emotionally or rationally, they will acknowledge this.

As for who carries it out, that’s not so important.

After listening to their discussion, the President nodded, "Remember to issue warrants for these extremists later. Is there anything else?"

"There are still some details..."

The President glanced at his watch; just a simple discussion had already taken around half an hour.

"Continue your discussion. Report to me when there’s a result; I’ll head back to prepare..." He stood up, straightened his clothes, "Anything else?"

Everyone expressed that the President could leave, and once he left, the atmosphere eased significantly.

At this point, Mr. Truman subtly became the core figure after the President’s departure.

This stemmed from closer internal contacts where Mr. Truman revealed his intention to run for President!

This excited the entire high-level Military; once Mr. Truman, the Military’s representative, becomes the Federation’s President, it would mean at least eight years in the future will be the "Military’s time."

This is vital for the Military’s development, especially as international dynamics lean toward military power, presenting favorable circumstances.

Lynch, being an important supporter of Mr. Truman, was also a key campaign partner for his future presidential run, so the Military’s attitude towards Lynch was also very good.

No matter how you look at it, they’re f**king on the same side!

As for betraying one’s own people?

Well... that’s actually another issue.

"We need a designated office for this matter, and I believe it should exist long-term."

Mr. Truman immediately took over the main voice. He glanced around, only the Lieutenant General still commanded some respect from him; otherwise, the Major Generals were below him in status now.

He had already been a colonel when he joined the army, and now he was subtly becoming the Federation Government’s second figure, so naturally, he couldn’t be treated as a mere colonel.

"Once war breaks out, the international situation will become more complex. We’ve previously discussed more effective tactics for striking at war leaders, and I believe it can first be applied to the matter in Mariluo."

The Strategic Command extended a new tactical idea following the assassination of Emperor Gafura — abominable as it may be — directly assassinating heads and key figures of hostile countries.

Of course, this is during wartime; after all, to win, this approach isn’t considered too excessive.

When a leader or key person of hostile forces suddenly dies, it can crucially change the war’s status!

This was a military secret, but Mr. Truman shared it openly in front of Lynch. Once again, this alliance underscored that Lynch and he were on the same side with the Military and the Ministry of Defense.

At least for now.

Sometimes, Mr. Truman thought Lynch might be his "soul’s most fitting companion," not the kind with desires, but rather Lynch’s behavior perfectly aligned with his spiritual pursuit of the future, the country, oneself, and... everything!

Like soulmates, even more so than real soulmates!

However, this didn’t mean he’d unconditionally support Lynch. If Lynch ever posed a threat to the country, he’d certainly decisively eliminate the "danger" from Lynch.

Everyone nodded, and what followed resembled more strategic and tactical discussions before determining positions; this naturally included places Lynch needed to cooperate.

He controlled two forces in Mariluo, Sanchez, and his sister; these two had Federation supporters and were doing quite well, actually.

But they also became the targets of the Warlord’s vigilance.

They might not be able to do great things, but "fabricating history" isn’t really a problem.

Subsequent detailed discussions didn’t need Lynch; he didn’t want to send people to assassinate Mariluo’s Grand President Beigaao, so he didn’t need to know how the Military was going about it either.

After Lynch left the meeting room earlier, the bright sunlight shone upon him. The weather was somewhat warm but not yet outright hot.

Truly... a good day!

At the same time, enjoying the fine weather with Lynch was the main character of their discussion, Mr. Beigaao.

As Mariluo’s Grand President, he was a globally known puppet but also had quite a following within Mariluo.

Some people always opposed war, especially after such a prolonged racial standoff and conflict; inevitably, some would tire of it all.

This is why Sanchez’s call to let go of hatred attracted people to his side.

Of course, joining him still involved fighting, should one truly wish to cease fighting they would converge in the capital.

The entire Mariluo might only have the capital devoid of racial antagonism, and this drew more people under Beigaao’s influence.

At the time, Beigaao had just finished a phone call with a medium-sized Warlord who agreed to participate in a multi-party Warlord discussion in the capital if needed.

The current scenario was clear to everyone; with the Federation interfering in their wars, if they continued opposing each other, they soon had to face a fact—

They would confront the Federation!

There was considerable dissatisfaction over the General’s children joining the Federation, yet there was no better solution.

The Federation’s technology was far superior; their bombers put considerable pressure on the Warlords!

Mariluo hadn’t developed over the years; everything they had depended on imports, leaving no "competitiveness" in their military confrontation with the Federation — it was a complete steamroll!
