Chapter 1347: Chapter 1346: Instructing Through Entertainment
"Responsibility!"
Lynch repeated the word once more, his tone intensified, lending the word suddenly more weight.
He looked at everyone, even pausing to glance at the President and the school’s board members beside him.
Perhaps his earlier words were not very pleasant, as he exposed the ugliness of capital to the sunlight, which burned some souls.
But just a word, and everything was sublimed!
Responsibility!
It has magical power, at this moment, it is bestowed with greater significance and value.
The capitalists love it because they know the people love it too!
"Responsibility, a word everyone can spell, but few can fulfill."
"And that is what I want to say to everyone."
"When you, when we, leave this relaxed environment, step into new positions, and begin a new life, remember, the power in our hands is not capital to harm others at will."
"Rather, it’s a form of responsibility!"
"It grants us responsibility, our responsibility is to allow more people to enrich their lives, giving them the chance to realize their dreams. While we complete our efforts and struggles, shouldn’t we also let the light of dreams shine into their lives?"
"I don’t mean to turn everyone into a person of sacrifice; I just hope that while we strive and sprint towards our goals, we still remember something?"
He looked at the students, the invited guests, seeing their contemplative expressions, he softly, unlike his earlier intensified tone, uttered the word.
"Responsibility!"
Though softly spoken, it landed heavily in people’s hearts.
Lynch paused for a moment, giving them time to reflect, to absorb, to summarize.
For about ten to twenty seconds, he smiled broadly, exhaled a breath that seemed to dissipate the heavy atmosphere on scene.
"Too serious, actually I’m just here for the graduation ceremony, hope the principal won’t get criticized too harshly by the board afterward."
He then began to mimic the emphasis in board members’ speech, "Why didn’t you ask for our permission to let Lynch speak, didn’t you know he’s hard to handle?"
He said this, changed direction, this time he became the principal, "Sorry, sir, he’s harder to handle than I thought!"
The tense, serious atmosphere quickly dissipated under Lynch’s "antics", students began to whistle, and some waved to him in salute, with no doubts.
Rather than moving the big capitalists, students are actually the ones most easily moved by him.
He didn’t expect anyone to truly change their work-life attitude because of his words; he wasn’t the Lord, he wouldn’t make people follow his ideas just because "God says."
He just hopes that when these people are stifling ordinary people’s dreams, destroying their lives, they might hesitate a bit, soften their hearts, that’s enough!
Ultimately, people get assimilated by real life.
Lynch responded to the enthusiastic students, then turned to the principal.
The principal breathed a sigh of relief, knowing it was time to end this somewhat heavy topic, he got up and walked to the podium, shook hands with Lynch, then saw him off.
And he stood alone at the podium.
He stared at the void podium, internally admiring Lynch’s ability to speak without a script; everyone knows Lynch never uses a manuscript when speaking, and often he only knows what to say a second before he starts.
Admiring Lynch’s sharp, serious, yet educational remarks, perhaps this is the charm of young leaders, perhaps this is a symbol of the era!
The principal withheld his sentiments as he approached the microphone, "Harder to handle than I imagined!"
Students and guests smiled knowingly; sometimes people feel that members of the upper class have a pleasing way of speaking, humorously, as if everyone is easygoing, including the President.
But in reality, these are their skills; when facing non-peers, they become indifferent or even cruel!
When dealing with peers and those of higher status, the principal doesn’t mind using self-deprecation to win people’s goodwill. His method of pleasing others by belittling himself is known in society as "Federal-style humor."
Who knows if all Federation people are this humorous, but here and now, he was quite humorous.
He smoothly followed Lynch’s speech, maintaining the atmosphere; perhaps only those with high levels of education and rich experiences can do this so proficiently.
Once everyone laughed enough, he began to thank Lynch for his wonderful speech, also talked about his own insights, confirming the helpful and educational significance of Lynch’s theme to everyone.
People must take responsibility; everyone has their own responsibility. When some people’s abilities grow, they should bear greater responsibility.
This is very much the Federation spirit!
The principal, too, spoke without a script; although he used a small trick of unscripted speech—quoting others’ remarks.
But through quoting Lynch’s speech, he gradually felt something genuine.
There’s no denying this graduation season is a special one.
The school board did not have sour faces, because Lynch has the qualifications to not care whether they are happy or not; when facing those stronger or of higher status, the board members, too, learn to be humorous like the principal.
"A very sharp speech, a unique angle; what you said made me have deeper thoughts on certain matters."
As the person above continued speaking, Lynch sat aside with the President discussing Lynch’s speech.
"I have a doubt. You’ve talked a lot about responsibility. Have you yourself done it?" Actually, before this, someone wanted to ask the currently speaking Lynch, or had thought about this question.
However, they ultimately didn’t voice it; no one wanted to spoil the graduation ceremony.
They just didn’t know, even if they had asked, Lynch wouldn’t hesitate.
He nodded and said, "Yes, I have."
The President looked at him with curiosity, and he continued, "In the Federation, there are at least tens of thousands of people working for me, I pay them timely monthly so their families don’t have to worry about financial sources."
"The school I’m constructing will start enrolling next year, allowing more high school students from ordinary families to have the opportunity to advance to university."
"This winter, the affordable grains I brought from Nagariel balanced domestic grain prices; they might have risen a bit compared to previous years but definitely not to an unacceptable extent."
"Mr. President, this is my responsibility, I try not to let down those who trust and support me."
"I’ve made money and given back to society; so, no matter who asks me if I’ve fulfilled ’responsibility’, I’ll proudly tell them, I have!"
"As for the future, whether it’s medical reform or social security system reform, as long as I have the ability, I will support it!"
After hearing this, the President had some respect for Lynch, "You are not like the others!"
The President marveled, "While they are still hot with the opposite sex, you’ve done these. You are remarkable, Lynch."
Lynch wasn’t overly excited by the President’s praise, "Because I came from the bottom, I know very well what we need."
The "we" here refers to the vast majority in the Federation, the lower and middle class, Lynch is quite representative.
The President was also considering whether to let more people hear Lynch’s speech today.
Actually, he didn’t need to consider, that evening Lynch’s speech was broadcast nationwide before the ’Millionaire’ show.
Having your own media, why not use it?
Initially, people were merely curious or annoyed at all things happening in the upper-class campus, Lynch tore apart the hypocritical veneer of high society, and his shocking "responsibility" genuinely touched the public!
In the realization of their goals and efforts by the big figures in high society, just think about their responsibility...
What an emotional speech, just these words earned Lynch a tremendous amount of goodwill.
Even if he announced he was running for election, some would immediately jump out of their original camp and vote for him!
Of course, the President’s speech wasn’t bad either; people liked this cheerful President with no hostility, though he wasn’t actually like this!
Finally, summer vacation arrived!
Speaking of summer vacation, people think of those who dress lightly, while some think of You’Er Mei.
The You’Er Mei case was closed not long ago; after gathering evidence, it was found that the sex and escort services provided to customers were not from direct stores.
As You’Er Mei’s largest shareholder and founder, Serra distanced herself from the entire case.
Instead, some coach franchise stores faced severe accusations.
In the Federation, everyone knows soliciting exists, and the Federation Government knows too.
But no one talks about it; it’s like the unseen dirt in every family’s corner, people know it’s dirty, but as long as it’s unseen and doesn’t affect life, who cares?
If no one exposes it, nobody will investigate whether You’Er Mei provides those illegal services.
But somebody reported it and it stirred the media, becoming a case that must be seriously handled because these people violated Federation law.
Knowing well they were breaking the law, yet they did it!
Many franchise stores were closed due to lawsuits, and You’Er Mei, which just got popular in less than a year, quickly declined, leaving many people sighing...
