Chapter 47: Chapter 47: Time to Go
’Who did I offend?’
’Is this about me?! Or the Tiger Head Gang!?’
Watching the figure that had suddenly appeared in the room, Popei Liu’er’s mind raced, considering all the possibilities.
In the space of a single breath, his two ruffian underlings had fallen one after the other.
This made Popei Liu’er suck in a sharp breath. Although his two men had yet to enter the Martial Dao, they were experienced fighters who struck viciously. They were quite a bit stronger than the average person.
But in an instant, they had lost their ability to fight!
The intruder’s strength was terrifying!
’Run!’
Popei Liu’er’s first instinct was to flee.
Although he was at the Martial Arts Introduction level, he was limited by his talent and resources and had yet to reach Qi Blood First Level Perfection. He held a huge advantage against ordinary people, but against a true Martial Dao expert, his skill was far from enough.
While his two underlings were tying up the intruder, Popei Liu’er shot forward, lunging for the nearest window. With his physique, a full-force leap was more than enough to smash through it.
Tiger Run Lane was the street where the Tiger Head Gang was stationed. Many minor leaders and ruffians like him lived in the area.
As long as he could get outside, shout for help, and hold on for a short while, he would immediately get a response.
At that point, even if the intruder’s Martial Arts Cultivation had reached the Qi Blood Second Layer, they absolutely wouldn’t be able to do anything to him!
Chen Ping’an had just swept one of the ruffians to the ground. Seeing Popei Liu’er about to burst through the window, he quickly reached to his waist, and a Flying Locust Stone fell into his hand.
With a hidden throw, he flung the Flying Locust Stone out with vicious force.
SWOOSH!
Just as Popei Liu’er was lunging, he suddenly felt a heavy blow to the back of his neck. The powerful impact made his vision go black. His previously unstoppable momentum faltered and his form broke.
BANG!
The window shattered, and Popei Liu’er successfully broke through. He should have executed a roll and quickly gotten to his feet. But the heavy blow to the back of his neck had ruined his form, and he instead crashed to the ground.
’This is bad!’
Popei Liu’er was terrified. He struggled to get up, but just as he was halfway there, a foot stomped viciously onto his back.
THUD!
The immense force slammed Popei Liu’er’s body hard against the ground. The powerful impact felt like it was about to shatter his chest. In that instant, a searing pain shot through his back, as if he’d been struck by a thousand-pound hammer.
"Master, spare me! Master, spare me!"
His survival instinct made Popei Liu’er cry out and beg for mercy.
However, his pleas had no effect.
The sound of the breaking window might have attracted attention. Delays breed complications. Thus, Chen Ping’an was extremely decisive. He stomped down hard again, this time on the back of Popei Liu’er’s spine.
CRACK!
The immense force instantly snapped Popei Liu’er’s spine.
Just as a scream was about to erupt, Chen Ping’an’s foot pressed down, forcing his mouth firmly shut.
Popei Liu’er’s eyes, blood-red and wide, stared fixedly, trying desperately to see Chen Ping’an’s face.
"Mmph... mmph..."
He wanted to say something, but he couldn’t get any words out, only able to make a series of muffled groans.
Chen Ping’an raised his foot for a killing blow. But just as his foot was in the air, he seemed to think of something and gently lowered it. He bent down and grabbed Popei Liu’er by the hair.
"Mmph... mmph..."
Popei Liu’er’s eyes were filled with utter despair. In just a few short breaths, his opponent’s ruthlessness and decisiveness had surpassed his wildest imagination. It wasn’t just experience; it was his terrifying strength!
’To be able to do this, his opponent has to be a Martial Dao expert at least on the level of Young Master Xiao Hu!’
Popei Liu’er couldn’t understand why such a figure would attack him!
’Could he be from another gang!?’
’The Wild Wolf Gang!? Are they making a move on the Tiger Head Gang?’
’How could they dare?’
The intense pain made Popei Liu’er’s head feel like it was about to split open, but his fierce unwillingness to accept his fate kept his mind racing. As his thoughts spun wildly, the hooded man before him pulled off his hood.
Beneath the hood was a handsome, pale face. There was a faint scholarly air about his features.
In that instant, Popei Liu’er’s pupils constricted, as if frozen. The next moment, his face was a mask of shock, and he began to groan frantically.
"Mmph... mmph..."
"If you had bullied me, you might have been able to keep your life today. But you bullied Nannan, so... sorry..."
Chen Ping’an held Popei Liu’er’s hair with one hand and viciously slapped his face with the other.
"You can just die!"
"Mmph... mmph..."
Popei Liu’er’s expression was one of crazed desperation, but no matter how much he struggled, he couldn’t control his body.
"Sixth Master, it’s time to go."
Chen Ping’an clamped both hands around Popei Liu’er’s neck.
CRACK!
THUMP!
Popei Liu’er’s body fell limply to the ground.
Watching Popei Liu’er die before him, Chen Ping’an found his state of mind to be much better than the last time. There was no fear or discomfort.
’Killing, as it turns out, is something one gets used to. Awkward the first time, routine the next.’
He bent down to loot the body and pulled a black cloth bag from Liu’er’s clothes—the very one he had snatched from Chen Erya during the day.
After doing this, remembering that the two men in the house were still breathing, Chen Ping’an put his hood back on, rushed back inside, and finished them off, one kick for each.
Chen Ping’an didn’t forget to loot their bodies either. He patted down both men and then gave the room a quick search, managing to find some silver coins.
Walking out into the courtyard, Chen Ping’an looked at Popei Liu’er’s corpse.
He happened to see a millstone in the yard, one that looked like it was used for strength training. He thought for a moment, then lifted the millstone—which was about half the size of a person—walked over, and smashed it down hard onto the body.
’To be safe, it’s better to destroy the evidence on the corpse!’
Having done all this, Chen Ping’an cleaned up a bit, wiped the blood from his feet, and then quietly leaped out of the courtyard.
His luck was good. Although breaking the window had made some noise, it hadn’t drawn the attention of the neighbors. Or perhaps, someone had noticed but didn’t dare come out to check, afraid of bringing trouble upon themselves.
After leaving Popei Liu’er’s house, Chen Ping’an didn’t go straight home. Instead, he took a detour to the large scholar tree east of his house. Not far from the tree was a pile of rocks.
Just in case, Chen Ping’an had no intention of bringing tonight’s haul from Popei Liu’er’s house—including the black cloth bag—home with him.
Therefore, he planned to hide the items under this pile of rocks. The rocks were quite large; an ordinary child couldn’t move them, and adults wouldn’t come over to move these stones. For the short term, hiding them here was undoubtedly safe.
Chen Ping’an began moving the rocks. With his strength, it was incredibly easy. After clearing the stones, he dug a small hole, placed tonight’s gains inside, covered it with dirt, and then piled the rocks on top again.
Once he was done, Chen Ping’an checked his surroundings to confirm no one was nearby. Then he left the area.
’When you do something this dangerous, you have to be careful about every little thing!’
