Chapter 1318: Chapter 46: Seafarers from Yuan Prefecture, Demon Python’s Honored Guest

Zhang Boyant brought Zhao Yang with him this time. At that moment, he was on a gentle hill teaching about various changes in cultivation techniques. The disciple sent by Bai Jiyin quickly found them and informed them about the conflict between the two families.

Zhang Boyant didn’t comment and waved the person away.

Zhao Yang laughed, "Master, Bai Sect Leader can’t handle Shao Zhongxiang and hopes for your intervention."

Zhang Boyant could see through the E Mountain Sect’s calculations, and said solemnly, "The E Mountain Sect is quite obedient nowadays. If Bai Jiyin is killed by Shao Zhongxiang, it will look bad for the Pavilion Master’s reputation, so I must lend a hand."

He instructed, "I will return shortly."

With that, he leaped and transformed into rolling yellow smoke as he descended the ridge.

Zhao Yang pondered for a moment, then took out a flying boat, leaped into it, and drove it to follow.

Zhang Boyant ignored him and flew over twenty miles northward, where he saw disciples from the two sects confronting each other on the mountaintop. Concealed in the clouds, he watched as Shao Zhongxiang and Bai Jiyin exchanged a few words before tensions rose.

An elder beside Bai Jiyin couldn’t hold back and summoned a drumstick-shaped Dharma Treasure, cursing loudly. Shao Zhongxiang smirked coldly. Relying on his status, he didn’t intervene personally but instead instructed a disciple next to him to handle the matter.

The disciple wielded a dazzling Dharma Sword that moved as swiftly as a snake in the grass. The two of them floated in evil qi and leapt into the air. After several rounds, the elder suddenly got slashed across the shoulder, bleeding profusely. The elder, undeterred by his injuries, seized the moment and counterattacked, striking the disciple with his drumstick in a fight where both suffered.

Zhang Boyant, seeing this, descended from the clouds and landed expressionlessly, "The Pavilion Master declared there shall be no chaos during the tides of all sects’ Divine House, you must wait for the tide to pass before doing anything untimely."

Bai Jiyin relaxed at Zhang Boyant’s arrival, cupped his hands in respect, and said, "Master Zhang, a disciple of Longxiang Sect killed one of my sect’s disciples without cause. As the Sect Leader, I only want an explanation, not to defy the True Master’s decree." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

Zhang Boyant replied coldly, "I’m not interested in your enmity; present your case before the Pavilion Master later."

Shao Zhongxiang glanced at Zhang Boyant and sneered, "I was initially not planning to be severe, but the juniors are aggressive, and now they want to escape after hurting others. There’s no such leniency."

Bai Jiyin’s cultivation might not match Shao Zhongxiang’s, but as a Sect Leader, he held equal status. Being called a junior in public was deeply humiliating, angering his disciples, though Bai Jiyin restrained himself, saying coldly, "Your disciple of Longxiang Sect injured mine first, what do you say to that?"

A disciple named Luo Guang beside Shao Zhongxiang jumped up, loudly proclaiming, "That person spoke offensively, insulting my master, leading to the killing. If Bai Sect Leader is upset, face me in a fight."

Bai Jiyin said grimly, "Since Master Zhang is here, the E Mountain Sect won’t cause further trouble today. We shall address this after the tide recedes."

Luo Guang, supported by his family and two Nascent Soul cultivators, didn’t fear Zhang Boyant alone, taunted, "Why heed others, Bai Sect Leader? Where’s the courage you had when you came?"

Zhang Boyant’s eyes turned fierce, laughing sinisterly at him, "Did you not understand what I just said?"

No sooner had he finished speaking when a sinister devil flew from behind him, unleashing a foul wind, shrieking and lunging forward.

Luo Guang was alarmed; Zhang Boyant’s sudden act was unforseen. Even if he could draw his Dharma Treasure, it would be useless against a Nascent Soul cultivator.

At that moment, Shao Zhongxiang’s Dharma Sword shot out like lightning, slicing the devil in two.

But the devil merely shook and fused, lunging again. The sword vibrated, emitting golden light, splitting the devil once more.

As the two clashed, everyone’s attention shifted, only to hear a sudden agonized cry nearby. Turning back, the previously injured Longxiang Sect disciple lay on the ground, an arm mysteriously torn off.

Shao Zhongxiang was stunned and enraged; with the devil’s rapid emergence, he was protecting Luo Guang and guarding against hidden attacks, unexpectedly missing the adversary’s intent on the injured disciple.
