Chapter 1292: Chapter 33: Hearing the Mountain Gate Stir the Heavenly Mechanism

Zhang Boyant did not accept a single disciple while in the Nether Spring Sect. After becoming a guest elder under Zhang Yan, he considered that after his reincarnation, seeking shelter under the Zhao You Mansion might not be a bad way, and thus never entertained the idea again.

Now, hearing that Zhang Yan took initiative to find him a disciple, and spoke highly of him in his words, he first felt astonished, then slightly tempted, and replied, "The Pavilion Master has chosen a disciple for Zhang, surely it must be a good one."

Zhang Yan smiled and said, "Good or not, it’s only what I say. We people in the cultivation world also value the affinity between master and disciple. This matter still requires Daoist Zhang to make a decision."

He said to Jing You, "Go and bring Zhao Yang."

Jing You responded promptly, swiftly left the cave mansion, rode the wind down the mountain, and came back very quickly, bringing Zhao Yang along before Zhang Boyant had recounted much of his experiences outside.

Upon entering the cave, Zhao Yang hurriedly kneeled and bowed to greet.

Upon seeing him, Zhang Boyant’s eyes emitted a peculiar light, he stepped forward, stretched out his hand to feel Zhao Yang’s head and neck but did not speak.

His appearance was exceedingly fierce, with coarse and hard hands, resembling old tree bark, producing cracking sounds when grasping joints. Zhao Yang, surprisingly, did not fear a bit; his composed demeanor was unlike a ten-year-old child.

Zhang Boyant stepped back two paces, eyes flashing green light, clicked his tongue in surprise, and laughed saying, "Such innate talent and root bone are not something ordinary people can possess. It’s already remarkable to have such innate essence, and from an early age, he’s been soaked in high-quality spiritual liquid, making all his hundred veins unobstructed. This child’s elders must be among our cultivation world."

Zhang Yan nodded with a smile and said, "Daoist Zhang, you see accurately. This child is surnamed Zhao, named Yang. His father was an upper cultivator under the Fu Yang Sect in this continent."

Zhang Boyant has been in the East Victory Continent for over a decade and has heard of Fu Yang Sect before. He pondered a bit and asked, "Pavilion Master, is there anything you’re implying?"

Zhang Yan smiled and said, "The underlying reason doesn’t need my explanation, fellow Daoist can ask Zhao Yang later and you’ll know."

Zhao Yang, being exceptionally astute, quickly guessed that Zhang Boyant was the master the Sect Leader mentioned to him and knelt down without being told, saying, "Disciple, greet Master."

Zhang Boyant laughed heartily, seeing Zhao Yang’s cleverness, he was quite satisfied. Though the child was limited by his age and couldn’t cultivate Inner Qi yet, one could see no anomaly; but once he steps onto the path of cultivation, he will be far beyond ordinary people. He cupped his hands gratefully and said, "Thank you Pavilion Master, I’ll take this disciple."

Zhang Yan said to Jing You, "I have more to discuss with Daoist Zhang; please take Zhao Yang down and find him a cave mansion to reside in."

Jing You stepped forward, patted Zhao Yang’s shoulder, and said, "Junior Brother Zhao, come with me."

Zhao Yang bowed again to the two inside the cave, then stood up and exited with him.

Outside the cave mansion, he bowed his head and cupped his hand, saying, "Senior Brother Jing, as a newcomer to the sect, I am unfamiliar with many rules. I would like to ask Senior Brother for guidance in the future."

Jing You thought this junior brother is quite sensible; one shouldn’t underestimate him due to his young age. He decided to offer a good gesture to him and said, "We are no outsiders from now on, no need for such formality. Although Master Zhang is a guest elder under our Sect Leader, the Sect Leader always treats with courtesy; follow Master Zhang, and you will return to the mountain gate eventually, make sure to seize this opportunity."

Zhao Yang cautiously asked, "Senior Brother, are we leaving this place?"

Jing You smiled mysteriously and said, "You’ll know when the time comes."

Inside the cave mansion, Zhang Yan said, "Daoist Zhang, glad you returned. In a few days, I shall depart for the Eastern Border at Divine House Mountain to establish an Earth Fire Sky Furnace for future artifact refining use. The journey will take several months; during my absence, please oversee the mountain gate."

Zhang Boyant immediately agreed, stayed for another half hour, then bid farewell and left.

Zhang Yan summoned Zhao Ge, conveyed many instructions, and once there was nothing left to arrange, he exited the cave mansion, rose with the Gang Wind, and journeyed eastward.

The establishment of the Earth Fire Sky Furnace this time, as it’s outside the mountain gate, he needs to find a safe and hidden location. Fortunately, Zhang Boyant had previously come here and recorded the terrain, so he can follow the map easily.

Zhang Yan did not unfold his sword light but rode the wind in the clouds. After traveling for three days, he saw the terrain rising ahead, forming a plateau resembling a square table, facing a towering cliff to the southwest, separated by a ravine filled with wild grass, appearing all gray-yellow.

A few miles to his right, however, was a different scene. A gurgling mountain spring seeped from the cliff, mist pervading, and even from afar, one could feel a cool breeze. On that hill stood a hundred-foot high banyan tree, having a large canopy with lush branches and leaves, beneath was tangled old vines with fallen leaves. Although east of Divine House is mostly desolate ground, this area is quite unique.
