Chapter 965: Chapter 965: He Knows His Boundaries

If it weren’t for Zheng Xuelin, she wouldn’t have been found out.

But she didn’t consider that flies don’t swarm to an unbroken egg.

From the beginning, she already had this particular hobby, which is why Zheng Xuelin knew and deliberately approached her.

After Rui Changhuai managed to fool Vice President Lu, he started to address matters concerning Ruisel.

Rui Changhuai did not contact Li Xiaoyun directly; instead, he first called President Lin of Ruisel.

When President Lin heard from the secretary that it was a call from Rui Changhuai, he was taken aback.

As soon as the secretary transferred the call, President Lin excitedly exclaimed, "Mr. Rui."

"President Lin," Rui Changhuai replied politely, "Hello."

"Hello, hello," President Lin quickly responded, "Mr. Rui, are you contacting me regarding our company’s cooperation?"

"That’s right," Rui Changhuai nodded.

President Lin didn’t expect that the matter would involve Rui Changhuai personally.

Not only in President Lin’s view but in everyone’s view, Rui Changhuai held a higher position than Vice President Lu.

Having Rui Changhuai make the call personally made President Lin quite nervous.

Especially since the contract that was clearly agreed upon earlier was suddenly withheld by Zhao Dingli himself.

This made President Lin even more anxious.

"Mr. Rui, you personally calling, is there some change in our cooperation?" President Lin asked worriedly.

"Is there something Ruisel did wrong? Please let us know, and we will certainly do our best to correct it and actively cooperate," President Lin said.

President Lin was too nervous at this moment, so he didn’t think it through.

If Changlin really wanted to change its mind and not cooperate with their company,

there would be no need for Rui Changhuai to personally make a call to inform him.

An employee contacting the business department would suffice.

Rui Changhuai said, "President Lin, rest assured, our cooperation remains unchanged. But to say there’s no change, there is indeed a slight one."

With the first half of the sentence, President Lin just breathed a sigh of relief, but his heart tensed again with the second half of Rui Changhuai’s sentence.

"It’s something that’s not clear over the phone, so I thought I’d find a time to visit Ruisel, to discuss with you face to face, to avoid any unnecessary misunderstandings over the phone," Rui Changhuai said.

President Lin admired him, no wonder he was the assistant to President Changlin.

His work is considerate and thorough.

"When would be convenient for you, President Lin?" Rui Changhuai asked again.

Of course, any time would be fine!

President Lin immediately said, "Any time is fine, I’ll accommodate your schedule."

President Lin’s attitude showed no trace of a general manager of a big company.

Although Ruisel is no match for Changlin, it is still not a small company.

Rui Changhuai looked at his work schedule. Today is Friday, and it’s almost the end of the working day, so the timing isn’t suitable.

Rui Changhuai said, "Then Monday at 10 AM, I’ll come to Ruisel to see you. Does that work for you?"

"Of course," President Lin quickly replied, "No problem."

After finalizing with President Lin, Rui Changhuai hung up the phone.

He glanced at the time, only 10 minutes left before the end of the workday.

Although he moved out to live independently, he would return to his parents’ house every Friday to see them.

Unless he worked overtime on the weekend, he would stay at his parents’ house.

If the weekend overtime wasn’t long, he would still go back to spend some time with his parents.

Rui Changhuai’s family had been in City B since his grandfather’s time.

Most of the main elders in the family now live in City B.

Some went to work in other places and settled there, developing generation by generation.

There’s actually not many who are still in the hometown, and those who stayed are not very close to him now.

Rui Changhuai checked today’s work schedule.

There was no more work scheduled.

When it was time to leave, Rui Changhuai packed up and drove to his parents’.

With the perks Rui Changhuai had under Zhao Dingli,

besides the salary and bonuses specified in the company contract, he, like Xiao Ruofeng and Zheng Tianming, had his own investments.

These assistants to the big shots, although working tirelessly beside the big bosses,

would at times grumble privately.

But in reality, they were earning quite a lot.

Rui Changhuai originally moved out to live because he felt as a grown man, he couldn’t always live with his parents, mooching off them.

Moreover, living on his own was more convenient for both work and socializing.

Especially for company gatherings or reunions with classmates and friends.

Sometimes if the gathering ended too late, going home would disturb his parents, not to mention

his parents would always have many restrictions.

He would inevitably hear some nagging.

It was better to live separately on his own, which was more convenient, and he could find a place closer to work.

Initially, before becoming Zhao Dingli’s assistant, Rui Changhuai didn’t have a solid financial base, so he could only rent a place.

Later, as he successfully assumed the position and stabilized as Zhao Dingli’s assistant,

his financial condition improved, allowing him to buy a property nearby.

Rui Changhuai drove home.

Before he even got in the door, he could already smell the aroma of food wafting through the hallway.

Though there were neighbors on both sides, Rui Changhuai could distinctly recognize the smell as his mom’s cooking.

Entering, the aroma from the kitchen grew even stronger.

His father was sitting on the living room sofa playing on his phone, probably chatting with friends in a WeChat group.

Hearing the noise, he turned to look, "You’re back."

"Yes," Rui Changhuai replied.

His mom, without a break from the spatula in the kitchen, amidst the sound of the range hood roaring, the clang of stir-frying, and the sizzling of oil in the pan,

shouted, "Son, you’re back?"

"Yes, Mom," Rui Changhuai shouted back.

"Go wash your hands and change your clothes, the dishes will be ready in under twenty minutes," his mom said.

"Alright," Rui Changhuai went to wash his hands and change clothes.

Freed from the constraints of a suit and shirt, he emerged comfortably in loose homewear.

His dad took off his reading glasses, set aside his phone, and asked, "How’s work lately?"

Last week, Rui Changhuai had to work overtime, so he didn’t come back.

"Everything’s fine. After being with our President for a long time, we’ve developed a good understanding. Work has been particularly smooth lately," Rui Changhuai said.

"The dishes are ready; come help me bring them out," his mom called from the kitchen.

So, Rui Changhuai and his dad stood up together and went to the kitchen to bring out the dishes his mom had prepared.

"Don’t get complacent just because you’ve been with your President for a long time and think you’re experienced," his dad cautioned, "That’s when mistakes happen."

"Dad, I know," Rui Changhuai replied.

"Yes, stop nagging him as soon as he comes home," his mom chimed in, "Our son knows what he’s doing."
