Chapter 631: Chapter 631: Not Angry

Ye Ning immediately asked, "Then does her son ... does he look like Boss Liu?"

The son she gave birth to looks exactly like Boss Liu.

She still remembers, the first time she saw that child, she was utterly disgusted.

How could he be so ugly.

If he resembled her even a little more, she’d have a fondness for that child.

But he’s a complete replica of Boss Liu.

She can’t stand Boss Liu, this only makes it harder to love that child.

If Ye Fei’s son is also Boss Liu’s, Ye Ning gloated, then he’s probably not much better off.

Mrs. Liu curled her lips, giving Ye Ning a slightly sarcastic look.

Ye Ning also perceived it and thought Mrs. Liu’s gaze seemed a bit off.

But because she was so curious about Ye Fei’s son, Ye Ning couldn’t think too much.

Her gaze eagerly awaited Mrs. Liu’s answer.

Mrs. Liu laughed, saying, "He doesn’t quite look like my husband."

Ye Ning felt a bit disappointed, but then heard Mrs. Liu say, "But you can vaguely see a bit of my husband’s features in his face."

Only then did Ye Ning sigh in relief, it seems she wasn’t wrong.

That son is indeed Boss Liu’s.

Five years ago, Ye Fei also didn’t escape.

"Except, Ye Fei herself doesn’t admit it," Mrs. Liu said.

Ye Ning thought to herself, of course Ye Fei wouldn’t admit it.

The girl has been stubborn since childhood.

Clearly, there are simpler and more relaxed ways of living, but she refuses to choose them, always opting for the harder one; who knows what she’s thinking.

If Mrs. Liu actually went to Ye Fei and proposed bringing the child back to the Liu Family, it’s easy to imagine that Ye Fei would never agree.

Even without the burden of a child, she’d be more relaxed.

And it’d be easier to find someone to marry, to live well.

But who knows what Ye Fei is thinking, with such convenience available, she just doesn’t want it.

Showing off, pretending to be aloof.

Ye Ning thought, Ye Fei probably is unwilling to recognize Boss Liu.

As an internet celebrity, if it’s revealed that she had some past with Boss Liu, whatever the truth, it’s a black mark.

So, Ye Ning speculated, just for the sake of her career, Ye Fei wouldn’t admit to Boss Liu.

"That’s just how she is," Ye Ning rushed to say, "I anticipated this."

Mrs. Liu then casually said, "Since she isn’t willing, I don’t have to insist on bringing the child home."

"After all, we already have one child at home; I don’t need to bring back another woman’s child to trouble myself."

Ye Ning originally didn’t intend for Mrs. Liu to take the child back.

Such a good deal for Ye Fei, she wouldn’t do it for her.

She just wanted Mrs. Liu to know about the child’s existence, and make a big scene.

But who would have thought, things didn’t unfold as she expected.

"Then... aren’t you angry when you see her son?" Ye Ning asked again.

"Not angry," Mrs. Liu remarked indifferently.

"Why!" Ye Ning couldn’t help but spit out.

Compared to Mrs. Liu, Ye Ning was still weaker, didn’t measure up.

Mrs. Liu had outwitted and confronted Boss Liu for so many years, how could she be easily dealt with.

It was just Ye Ning being shrewd and self-righteous.

"Miss Ye, I don’t have to report every little thing, every thought of mine to you, do I?" Mrs. Liu said displeased, her gaze and demeanor growing sharp.

"I didn’t mean it that way," Ye Ning also became alert, realizing she was being hasty.

She racked her brains trying to find a way to recover, meanwhile trying to ask what she wanted to know.

Unexpectedly, Mrs. Liu voluntarily said, "All that anger was already spent when the first child was brought home."

"At that time, I did make quite a fuss, but after all these years, I’m too familiar with what kind of person Lao Liu is," Mrs. Liu sneered.

"If I took everything so seriously each time, wouldn’t I always be angry?" Mrs. Liu remarked.

"One child at home is enough. Since Ye Fei isn’t willing, it’s perfect for me as I’d also be happier, why insist on finding trouble?"

"Furthermore, that child doesn’t resemble Lao Liu, so when I see him, I don’t connect him to Lao Liu, naturally, I wouldn’t be angry."

Mrs. Liu drank the remaining tea from her cup, stood up, "Besides, I don’t have anything to prove that child belongs to the Liu family."

"I can’t take the child’s things to authenticate, relying on your words without proof, where’s my confidence?"

"I also don’t have to go all out for a child I didn’t give birth to, for Lao Liu’s family; what’s in it for me?" Mrs. Liu sarcastically stated.

"Thus, I’ve seen the child, and that’s enough. Since the mother isn’t willing, naturally, I don’t need to meddle. As for whether you’re willing, that’s your issue."

"After all, you’re his sister; you two sisters can work it out yourselves, don’t drag me into it," Mrs. Liu said.

"Then..." Ye Ning stammered, "What if I persuade Ye Fei, would you accept her child into the Liu family?"

"A forcibly twisted melon isn’t sweet; even if you persuade me to take the child back. The child’s grown up, and Ye Fei and he have feelings, always concerned for each other, the child clamouring to see Ye Fei, Ye Fei occasionally coming to bother us, wanting to see the child, would our home have peace then?"

"Then I wouldn’t just be doing charity work, I’d be looking for trouble myself," Mrs. Liu taunted, "Do you think I’m someone who seeks trouble on my own?"

Ye Ning: "..."

"The child in our home now was brought back shortly after birth. He has no knowledge, doesn’t know his mother isn’t me, nor does he know where his biological mother is, I don’t either."

"His mother has never appeared," Mrs. Liu explained while watching Ye Ning’s expression.

Seeing Ye Ning’s gaze, slightly falter, Mrs. Liu withdrew her gaze.

She lowered her eyes to hide them, inwardly raging at the thought of giving Ye Ning a good thrashing.

But she still held back, minor impatience scatters grand schemes.

"So, our child doesn’t know he has another mother, he wouldn’t trouble me, asking for a mom. Because in his eyes, I’m his biological mom."

"I also don’t worry his mother might come for him, if she wanted to find him, she wouldn’t have abandoned him when he was just a baby."

"Otherwise, like Ye Fei, at least you’d raise the little one till he’s grown," Mrs. Liu said, "in such a situation, actually I’d be concerned."

Ye Ning’s eyes flickered.

Looks like it’s time to find a chance to meet that child.

It’s just a matter of catching him while he’s still young and easily deceived.
