Chapter 203: Chapter 203: Congratulations
If luck isn’t on your side, even winning first place in a competition might not guarantee any special treatment.
But despite this, it still motivates everyone.
It’s not just about the privileges; winning first place surely leaves a deeper impression on people, raising one’s popularity, which has its benefits.
"That means, excluding the 10 participants from Changping Academy, there are 40 left, competing for 20 spots," Gu Changfeng said.
A fifty percent elimination rate.
Not to say it’s not high.
"As you can see, the venue has been arranged to look like a food street," Gu Changfeng said. "There are ten thousand spectators onsite, and next, we will randomly draw 500 audience members and hand out 500 food vouchers."
"In other words, each person has one guaranteed food voucher. Besides these 500 complimentary vouchers, we will also provide an additional 500 food vouchers for purchase on the Changping App."
"The 500 vouchers that need to be purchased will be available for sale after the complimentary 500 vouchers are used up," Gu Changfeng said, "Thus, a total of 1000 food vouchers are provided onsite."
"The lucky spectators who obtain or purchase a food voucher can use it to buy snacks. One voucher can purchase one snack."
"Also, each of our five judges has one food voucher, with each voucher equivalent to 10 votes," Gu Changfeng said.
"Ultimately, the top twenty contestants with the most food vouchers will proceed," Gu Changfeng said.
"Contestants have thirty minutes to decide what they want to make and to select ingredients and culinary tools from the storage room."
The culinary tools used for snacks are naturally different from those typically used in a regular kitchen.
Due to the nature of this round’s theme, the organizers have done ample preparation to ensure contestants can choose tools that suit their needs.
If by chance they cannot find the right tools, they will have to rely on their creativity and adaptability.
"Now, find your food cart, confirm your position, and feel free to start picking out ingredients and tools," Gu Changfeng said. "Start the timer."
The large screen behind them displays the entire stage in real time for the spectators in the back rows to see clearly.
Occasionally, the director cuts to individual contestants.
The time is displayed at the top of the screen.
On a side screen, An Haiyin stood in front of it: "Now, the contestants have all entered the storage room. Let’s draw 500 lucky spectators from the audience."
The computer randomly selects the numbers quickly.
"Congratulations to these 500 lucky spectators. Please remain calm at your seats, and our staff will bring the food vouchers to you. Winning spectators need to present their tickets," An Haiyin said with a smile.
The tickets show the seat numbers.
"Spectators who receive the food vouchers, with the limited number of vouchers you have, it’s naturally impossible to try all 40 food stalls. So, you can browse the venue with your vouchers and make your final choice. Since the vouchers are scarce, please make your selection carefully."
This is just like strolling through an actual food street.
Ye Fei isn’t in a hurry. While finding her food stall, she’s pondering the words of An Haiyin.
These first 500 spectators in are just like guests visiting a food street for the first time.
Unfamiliar with which stall has the best food, they rely solely on their sight and sense of smell to judge which snack appeals to them most before buying to try.
