Suddenly, the lights went out, and as she sat there, she tensed up!
Seeing the commercials starting to roll on the screen, she glanced at Qin Shaojin, "If you feel scared later, we can leave and I’ll treat you to a different movie."
Qin Shaojin looked at Wen Nuan, "I probably won’t be."
Wen Nuan remained seated without another word, tightly gripping the armrest beside her seat.
A few minutes later, the sound effects changed.
Eerie sounds started to echo around, and Wen Nuan glanced over. There was no one in front of or beside her and Qin Shaojin, so her body involuntarily leaned closer to him.
Qin Shaojin sat there, staring at the screen, as if he hadn’t noticed her movement.
Wen Nuan breathed a sigh of relief, too afraid to look at the screen. It was pitch black all around, and she didn’t dare to look around either—what if she caught sight of something she wasn’t supposed to?
And she couldn’t just keep staring at Qin Shaojin, could she?
So, she braced herself and turned her gaze back to the screen.
As she watched, she felt all her hairs standing on end!
She swallowed hard, looking at Qin Shaojin beside her. He seemed not scared at all!
What to do?
Wen Nuan closed her eyes!
But she could still hear.
As the sound effects grew more and more intense, following a scream in the movie, she also screamed, wrapping her arms tightly around Qin Shaojin’s arm.
Qin Shaojin turned to look at Wen Nuan, "Scared?"
Wen Nuan looked at Qin Shaojin with a pale smile, "A little."
Qin Shaojin asked quietly, "Is it very terrifying?"
Wen Nuan smiled, "It’s alright."
Qin Shaojin didn’t say anything, thoroughly enjoying the feeling of her soft|little hands clutching his arm.
Just as Wen Nuan let go of Qin Shaojin’s arm and glanced towards the screen, she screamed "Ah—" and hugged Qin Shaojin tightly again, burying her face in his sleeve.
Qin Shaojin curled his lips in a smile, and pushed up all the armrests between their seats.
Wen Nuan, utterly oblivious, kept shrinking closer to Qin Shaojin.
This is terrible! Who even watches horror movies!
When you are too scared to watch a movie in the cinema and spend days immersed in its aftereffects, unable to recover, what enjoyment is there in watching movies?
So, horror movie reviews are for the brave, not for someone like her!
Qin Shaojin glanced at Wen Nuan, "Okay, the scary scene is over."
Wen Nuan uttered, "Oh," and looked at the screen. In an instant, her pupils dilated, and she felt her blood run cold!
A few seconds later, she came back to her senses, closed her eyes, and kept leaning to the side, closer and closer!
Qin Shaojin wrapped an arm around Wen Nuan’s back, holding her close.
Wen Nuan didn’t notice, completely unaware that she was entirely in Qin Shaojin’s arms.
Qin Shaojin sat there, feeling her body tense, and hugged her a little tighter, "If you’re scared, we can leave."
Wen Nuan shook her head with her eyes closed, "I’m okay."
As soon as she said it, she regretted it!
Why endure suffering just for the sake of pride?
She was clearly scared to death!
Hearing the sound effects growing more intense and stranger, she kept swallowing.
Qin Shaojin listened, turned towards her, and watched her cute appearance with closed eyes. His thin lips approached and gently brushed across her forehead.
Wen Nuan was too scared, feeling a constant tingling on her scalp, and Qin Shaojin’s gesture was so gentle, she didn’t feel it at all.
