Chapter 755: 758 Discovery Secret_1
Humming a tune while freshening up.
"I want a big house, with huge floor-to-ceiling windows, sunlight spilling onto the floor, warming my blankets, too..."
After freshening up, she left the bathroom, opened her purse, and took another look at the check inside. She couldn’t help but hug it to her chest gleefully, closing her eyes in bliss!
She had never had so much money before, and to think it was won playing mahjong—it felt like a dream!
When she opened her eyes, the check was still there, confirming it was not a dream, "Mwah~" she kissed it, thinking about buying a big house with the money, her mood was ecstatic!
If it was frozen, so be it. Its origin was unclear, and she wouldn’t feel secure using it. What if she were accused of her father taking bribes again?
She packed her things and glanced at the time; it was past eight.
Realizing it was Sunday and that she was in a good mood and her room looked so pretty, why not take a selfie?
She grabbed her phone and took a few selfies in various poses around different corners of the room. Then, she glanced at the regiment leader, laid beside him, snapped a few more pictures, picked out a few, and was about to post them to her social circle when she saw that the post from last night had blown up!
There were many comments, asking where she was and what she had eaten.
Others noticed the shadow of a man on the lazy Susan, asking if she was no longer single, if she had latched onto a rich tycoon.
She read through them and had no idea how to reply. Fearful of causing more misunderstandings, she only posted a photo of her and the regiment leader.
After posting, she folded her bedding, slung her backpack over her shoulders, and stepped out the door. In the hallway, she glanced around—there were so many rooms, and she did not know which room Qin Shaojin was in.
She took out her phone and dialed, but after ringing for a while, no one picked up. Standing in the hallway, she couldn’t hear the ringtone at all—was the soundproofing that good?
Downstairs, she saw no sign of Qin Shaojin.
Seeing Zhao Wu, she jumped in surprise, "You... you live together with him?"
Zhao Wu saw the mistake right away.
"Oh, I get it, I’ll pretend I don’t know anything."
Wen Nuan quickly spoke up, giving Zhao Wu a reassuring look.
Just then, Qin Shaojin came out of the kitchen.
Wen Nuan saw him, then looked at Zhao Wu again. She couldn’t believe Qin’s top player was gay, and with such particular taste.
Qin Shaojin, seeing her gaze flitting about, dropped the egg he had intended to use on his eye bags to the floor with a crisp crack!
He clenched his collar and unbuttoned one.
Wen Nuan thought about the long distance to the city center, her eyes darting around before settling on Qin Shaojin. Ignoring the fact that he was gay, she smiled sweetly at him, "Mr. Qin, I need to go to the bank later..."
"Wanting a ride?"
Qin Shaojin snorted softly, his demeanor aristocratically chilly as he went upstairs.
Wen Nuan stood there, silently denouncing Qin Shaojin for a while before turning to Zhao Wu, "Assistant Zhao, is it easy to catch a cab around here?"
Zhao Wu, unhappy about being mistaken for gay, didn’t want to deal with Wen Nuan and went back to his own room.
Wen Nuan clenched her fists, changed her shoes, and just as she opened the door, she remembered she was penniless—how could she take a cab without money?
She took out her phone, opened WeChat, and saw there were only a few dozen yuan in her wallet, certainly not enough for a cab, and she hadn’t linked a bank card either. What to do now?
Turning around, she glanced in the direction of the stairs, considering going up to borrow from him.
But Qin’s top player would likely put on airs with her!
Borrow from Assistant Zhao? Having been mistaken for Qin Shaojin’s kept gay, and fuming with indignation, he certainly wouldn’t lend her money either.
But she couldn’t possibly walk all the way back, could she?
Standing there, she took several deep breaths, then headed back to the second floor.
Only, after a few steps, she was stumped. All the doors looked the same; she had forgotten which room she stayed in last night!
