Huo Jinnan stood at the door, pausing in his steps, "You should tell the warden that we have dissolved our relationship."
The old man remained silent.
Having severed ties with his own grandson wasn’t something to be proud of, and certainly not something to announce to the entire world!

Huo Jinnan lit a cigarette, "You have always cared about face, so you’ll just have to swallow this loss in the dark."

Huo Jinnan hung up the phone, entered the door, changed into slippers, and glanced at the time; it was already midnight.
He went upstairs, returned to his room, where the bedroom light was still on. Qin Huan was sleeping on the sofa with a book in her hand, covered with a blanket, and next to her stood Nanny Rong.
Huo Jinnan looked at Nanny Rong, "How long has the lady been asleep?"
Nanny Rong looked at Huo Jinnan, "The lady insisted on waiting for you, sir. She has slept for less than an hour."
Huo Jinnan put out the cigarette in his hand, "You go and rest."
Nanny Rong responded with a "Yes" and quickly stepped out of Huo Jinnan and Qin Huan’s bedroom.
Huo Jinnan walked over, locked the door behind him, looked towards Qin Huan, walked over, and very gently pulled the book out of her hand, placing it on the bedside table. As soon as he did so, Qin Huan woke up.
She looked at Huo Jinnan, still groggy and not fully awake, her voice muffled with a hint of sensuality, softly asking, "You’re back?"
Huo Jinnan replied with a sound.
Qin Huan picked up the phone next to her, saw it was already 0:15, and said to Huo Jinnan, "You go take a shower, I’ll wait for you."
Huo Jinnan bent down and scooped up Qin Huan, not bending his waist, he carried her straight to the bed, gently laid her down, and looked at her, "That phrase seems to have a double meaning."

Seeing the date was today, he stiffened for a moment, set the book aside, gazed down at Qin Huan, and grabbed the remote, turning off the light.

"Lie down."
Huo Jinnan said commandingly.
Qin Huan looked at Huo Jinnan, obediently lying down in his arms.
Huo Jinnan raised one hand, his other hand resting over the location of her heart.
Qin Huan held her breath, snuggled further into Huo Jinnan’s embrace, burying her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat, and slowly, her own heart began to steady.
