"I’m back."
Huo Jinnan glanced at the constantly swinging window and walked over to the balcony to close it.
Returning to the bedroom, he looked at the spot where the platoon leader had nestled, bent down to pick up Qin Huan, placed her on the sofa to one side, and took a new set of sheets, duvet cover, and pillowcases from the closet to change them.
Qin Huan lay on the sofa, watching his figure from behind, suddenly her eyes became tearful. Hadn’t he said they wouldn’t keep the child?

Seeing that Huo Jinnan had almost finished making the bed, Qin Huan quickly wiped away her tears, smiled, and tried to act natural.
After tucking in the duvet cover, Huo Jinnan turned to look at Qin Huan, "I’m going to take a shower first."
Once in the bathroom, he looked around, the frown between his brows deepening rapidly as he sanitized once, then returned to the bedroom to carry Qin Huan to the bathroom and place her into the large bathtub. He added some bubble bath, took a towel, and gently began washing her body.
Qin Huan lay in the tub, staring blankly at the platoon leader’s bathtub beside her.
Huo Jinnan caressed her cheeks for a while, looking at her fluttering eyelashes, "Not sleepy?"
"Already asleep," Qin Huan said with her eyes closed.
Huo Jinnan grunted in response, picked up the remote, and turned off all the lights in the room.
With the sudden darkness, Qin Huan opened her eyes.
Huo Jinnan remembered that when he had come back, it was not yet nine o’clock, and she had already been asleep, drifting off earlier and earlier than before.
He had asked Rong Ma, and she said she was sleepier than before too!
It was just that he didn’t know how to bring up the child again. He didn’t want to repeat the same words a second time.
The next day, when Huo Jinnan woke up, Qin Huan was still sleeping soundly.
The phone kept ringing again and again, on silent mode, and he saw it but did not answer. He just quietly watched Qin Huan.
By the time Qin Huan woke up, it was already ten o’clock. She glanced at the time, then at Huo Jinnan, "Have you been awake for a long time?"
"Just now," Huo Jinnan said, glancing sideways at Qin Huan.
Qin Huan looked at Huo Jinnan. His words obviously lacked credibility since she had never seen him get up this late before.
She didn’t expose him, just sat up and started dressing.
Huo Jinnan got up to dress as well.
Qin Huan turned her head to look at him, "Are you going out today?"
Huo Jinnan stood there, buttoning up his shirt, "I’ll leave after washing up."
Thinking about her mom, she felt waves of breathlessness!
Qin Huan watched Huo Jinnan, taking some time to steady her breathing, "Is my mom... doing okay?"
With all the buttons fastened, Huo Jinnan spoke in a deep voice, "She’s fine."
Taking a deep breath, Che Huan tried to ask with a steady, normal tone, "What about those photos and videos..."
Looking at Qin Huan, Huo Jinnan’s eyes grew a shade darker, "They’ve been gone a long time."
Qin Huan looked at Huo Jinnan, "You?"
Huo Jinnan, "Hmm."
Pausing for a moment, Qin Huan’s voice quieted considerably, "Why?"
"For you."
Huo Jinnan glanced at Qin Huan, picked up his suit jacket, and left the bedroom.
