Wen Ru looked away. "You wouldn’t understand."
Huo Jinnan stubbed out his cigarette and stood there, turning to look out of the window. "Mom, then let me tell you how my older brother died."
Wen Ru looked at his back.
Huo Jinnan spoke slowly, "Seven years ago, during a military drill, my brother’s fighter jet malfunctioned and he died!"
Wen Ru listened quietly.
Huo Jinnan paused for a while, "When the jet crashed, a red mushroom cloud burst into the sky. It wasn’t just my brother, but also my brothers-in-arms. Eleven lives were lost in an instant."
Wen Ru couldn’t imagine that scene, but she could feel the thick emotion in his voice, and that intense feeling!
