Chapter 564: 566 Making a Mistake (5)_1

"Mom, Qin... Dad, you’ve come?"

As the words "President Qin" almost slipped out, she swiftly swallowed them back down. Che Huan looked at Qin Moting, her face turning a bashful red, as her ears slightly heated up.

Wen Ru glanced at Che Huan, her gaze flickering subtly.

Since Huanhuan had called him Dad, did that mean she had accepted him as her father?

Honestly, Qin Moting’s exceptional kindness towards her and her daughter had taken her by surprise.

Feeling Qin Moting grasp her hand, she sat there stiffening for a moment, without looking in Qin Moting’s direction.

Qin Moting looked at Che Huan. This was the first time he heard Huanhuan call him Dad, a swell of emotion grew in his chest, a sense of fulfillment he had never experienced before, something that neither money nor power could bring!

Just then, he heard a cough.

Turning his head, he saw his mother.

The Qin family matriarch looked at the couple, still so affectionate just a few days after their wedding, pulling and tugging at each other even during a court session. For some reason, she felt her face flush with a blush she couldn’t contain.

"Mom."

The old lady didn’t say much, just took a seat next to the old master.

She stole a glance toward Wen Ru.

The old master looked her way, "You look like a thief."

Sitting there, was not the old lady feeling guilty? That’s why, when Mochuan did such a thing this time, getting involved with Huo Jinyun, she was so angry she didn’t want to deal with it at all.

Last time, if Mochuan hadn’t been so persistent, she would have wanted nothing to do with the Huo Family! And coincidentally, Mochuan wanted to promote a match between Tongtong and Huo Jinnan, because his second and third sons got along well with Huo Jinnan, who was also favored by Shaoling.

Thinking back to all the things Shaoling had told her about how wonderful Huo Jinnan was, she accumulated the impression that Huo Jinnan was an exception among the Huo Family, and so she reluctantly agreed, giving permission for Mochuan to invite the Huo family’s old master, never expecting such a mess to arise!

The more she thought about it, the sicker she felt, especially since they couldn’t sever ties with the Huo Family now, because Wen Ru’s daughter had married Huo Jinnan.

Thinking of Che Huan, she vaguely remembered the last time Mochuan adopted a goddaughter and came by, but she hadn’t paid much attention. On the wedding day, she was too shocked, her attention all on Wen Ru, never paying notice to her having another daughter, nor getting a closer look—only to bump into her today!

Secretly, very secretly, the old lady looked in Che Huan’s direction, seeing only a side profile, when suddenly she froze.

Why did she look so much like Shaoling from this angle?

Thinking of Shaoling, a warmth surged in the old lady’s heart, and she felt the urge to cry.

She wanted to take a closer look, but Moting was standing right beside her, blocking her view.

The old lady tugged at Qin Moting’s sleeve, "Can’t you sit back a bit? Can’t you sit properly?"

Qin Moting glanced at the old lady, remained silent, but moved back a bit.

Sitting up straight, the old lady craned her neck to see Che Huan, but there was yet another person blocking her view, none other than Huo Jinnan!

She didn’t feel it was right to complain, feeling quite flustered inside when suddenly she saw Che Huan turn her face this way.

The old lady sat there, her hands unconsciously tightening around the objects they held, one being Qin Moting’s suit, the other the old master’s sleeve.

For a moment, she thought she saw Mo Mo!

Noticing Qin Moting looking back at her hand, she quickly let go and turned to the Qin family’s old master, tugging at his arm, "Old man, look quickly! Look at that Che Huan."

"Look at what!" grumbled the Qin family’s old master, but as he glanced toward Che Huan, his gaze fixed on her.
