Chapter 400: 402 Play with excitement (7)_1
But now he couldn’t show his face, nor could he let his father get wind of anything.
How could he find a suitable person to make contact with these two people?
Huo Qichang sat solemnly, thinking for a while before he dialed the police station to inquire about Gu Jizhou’s situation, only to be denied and left unanswered.
This time, had Anan really taken it seriously?
Any of the offenses Jizhou had committed could easily land him a life sentence if brought to light.
As he thought of his elder brother’s dying wishes, he sat there, hands pressing against his forehead as he closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

The next morning, as soon as Che Huan entered Wen Ru’s hospital room, she saw the bed propped up, with Wen Ru leaning against a pillow.
When Wen Ru saw Che Huan, she took a piece of paper from the side and handed it to her, "There’s a phone number on it; close the door and go to the rest room to make the call."
Che Huan took it. It wasn’t a cell phone number; it was a landline, and a Hong Kong landline at that!
Not daring to use her own phone, she was about to speak up when Wen Ru handed her a brand-new phone, "Give me the phone after you’re done."
Che Huan replied with a yes, took the phone and piece of paper, and entered the rest room.
Looking at the note, touching the screen, one digit after another on the dial pad catching her sight, she felt inexplicably nervous.
She hesitated for a moment before pressing the call button and soon heard a dial tone.
After a long wait, a sweet voice came from the phone, "This is the CEO’s office. Do you have an appointment?"
Che Huan was stunned, taking a moment to realize and looking outside the door, wondering if her mother had given her the wrong number.
"Hello, may I know who is calling?"
Hearing the sweet female voice on the other side, Che Huan snapped out of it, unsure how to address the CEO mentioned by the other party, "I’m looking for the CEO, is he there?"
A young woman’s voice?
The assistant paused for a while, glanced in the direction of the CEO’s office, wondering if Qin Moting was enjoying a rejuvenation, a second spring?
It didn’t seem likely, as Qin Moting was always disciplined, particularly careful about his private life.
Still, nothing could be said for certain. After hesitating for a while, she still dialed the intercom, "Mr. Qin, a young lady just called asking for you, without an appointment."
"Put her through," he said.
Qin Moting pressed his brow, put down the documents in hand, and as the call was transferred, picked up the phone, "Hello?"
Upon hearing the mature male voice, Che Huan was momentarily taken aback, then quickly spoke up, "I’m Wen Ru’s daughter, she asked me to find you."
Wen Ru?
A name very familiar to him.
Qin Moting sat there, it took him a minute to recall a blurry figure.
But soon enough, the figure in his mind grew more vivid and clear.
Even though he had only seen her once, the impression was remarkably deep.
After a silence, Qin Moting asked in a low voice, "And then?"
Che Huan organized her thoughts, recounted the events from beginning to end, and waited for a response, but the line had suddenly gone quiet.
A while later, rustling sounds came through.
Sitting there, thinking of the name Wen Ru, Qin Moting felt a sudden discomfort, retrieved medication from a drawer, tore open the foil, pressed out two pills, opened his thermos, and took them before he started feeling a bit better.
"Are you still there?"
When he heard the timid girl’s voice, Qin Moting snapped back to the present, "I understand."
Was that all?
Che Huan didn’t know who the person was or how he was related to her mother. She just said "Oh," unsure of what to say next, "Well, I’m going to hang up then."
