Chapter 387: 389 Very Appetizing (1)_1
Zhong Qin and Wen Ru exchanged a covert glance in the direction of Che Huan, withdrew their gazes, looked at each other, and steered the conversation away.
"Xiaowei hasn’t woken up yet. Huanhuan, go call him over for lunch," Zhong Qin said.
Che Huan responded and left the hospital room.
Huo Jinnan put the packed lunch aside and looked towards Wen Ru, "Aunt Wen, do you know people from the Qin Family?"
Wen Ru smiled faintly and shook her head, "I’ve only heard of them, don’t know anyone personally."
Zhong Qin turned to Huo Jinnan, her smile spreading, "Planning to take me and your Aunt Wen along? I’m afraid your sister and your grandfather wouldn’t be pleased if they knew, considering the Qin and Huo Families have never gotten along. And you know that."
Huo Jinnan didn’t reply, knowing well enough what Qin Mochuan’s intentions were for inviting him and the role Huo Jinyun might have played in it.
But perhaps, it was better not to know.
He glanced at his mother and Aunt Wen again and pondered over the conversation he had overheard upon entering. His gaze intensified as he reached into his trouser pocket, found his lighter, and with a flick, ignited it. When he saw Che Huan and the little guy come in, he extinguished it again.
Che Huan thought Huo Jinnan wanted to smoke and gestured for him to go outside.
Huo Jinnan stepped out of the hospital room onto the balcony, lit a cigarette but didn’t smoke it, simply stared at it, and made a phone call to Huo Bei, "Check if there’s any connection between Wen Ru and the Qin Family."
After hanging up, he called Qin Shaojin.
The pen in Qin Shaojin’s hand clattered to the floor as he leaned back in his black leather chair, squinting his attractive peach blossom eyes, "Why would you ask that, Huo bro?"
"Just keep an eye out."
"Alright, I’ll keep an eye out for Huo bro," Qin Shaojin agreed.
After the call, Qin Shaojin sat there in deep thought, wondering if there really could be some connection with the Qin Family. He soon shook his head dismissively, having never heard of any, though the matter between Uncle Four and Huo Jinyun was widely known.

On Saturday, the Imperial Harbor Hotel was fully booked.
Qin Mochuan, the Qin Family’s third son, had reserved the entire hotel for the adoption ceremony of Fang Tong, inviting almost half of Hong Kong’s socialites—quite a grand affair!
When Huo Jinnan arrived with Che Huan and the little one, he saw the old man’s car at the hotel entrance. After pausing for a moment, he headed straight for the revolving doors.
Upon entering, the Manager in charge of welcoming guests stopped Huo Jinnan, "Excuse me, Young Master Huo, but the Third Master only extended an invitation to you alone and reserved a seat for just one person."
As soon as the Manager finished speaking, Qin Shaonan and Qin Shaojin, spotting Huo Jinnan, walked toward him.
Approaching the entrance, Qin Shaonan glowered at the Manager.
The Manager quickly addressed them with due respect, "Second Young Master, Third Young Master."
Qin Shaonan scrutinized the Manager until he lowered his head, and without a word, led Huo Jinnan, Che Huan, and the little one into the banquet hall.
The Manager watched them walk away and quickly phoned the Third Master, "Third Master, Young Master Huo has arrived with a female companion and a young boy. I tried to stop them, but the Second and Third Young Masters suddenly appeared and took them straight in."
"I understand. It’s no longer your concern," came the reply.
Relieved by the Third Master’s response, the Manager turned back to greet incoming guests while casting a glance in Huo Jinnan’s direction.
In truth, many of the guests that day brought family or female companions, and it was unclear why the Third Master had instructed him to block Young Master Huo’s companion.
Yet, what was even more unfathomable was that the Third Master had actually invited the Huo Family patriarch—and he had come!
