Chapter 353: 355 Unbelievable (3)_1

The little fellow nodded obediently with slight arrogance. So, Huo Jinnan couldn’t handle Grandma, but he managed it so easily?

Indeed, that despicable old man, Huo Jinnan, mustn’t be likable at all!

How could Grandma like him? She definitely prefers someone cute and fresh like him!

He pursed his lips, "Grandma, I always wanted to visit you, but Huo Jinnan wouldn’t let me. That’s why it’s taken so long. He wants to marry Huanhuan, so you must give him a hard time."

"..."

Wen Ru looked at the little guy and pinched his hand, not expecting him to speak ill of his father as soon as he opened his mouth.

Zhong Qin smiled at Wen Ru, "Xiaowei likes Huanhuan, and right now, he must be feeling vexed."

The little fellow, not too pleased, said, "Grandma, it’s not like that. Huo Jinnan is always so cold. I’m just afraid he won’t treat Huanhuan well in the future. Don’t you know, Grandma? Men cherish what they can’t have the most. The harder it is to get, the more they’ll appreciate it. You have to give him a hard time, so he’ll realize Huanhuan’s worth."

Wen Ru found this amusing, "Alright, Grandma promises to give Huo Jinnan a hard time for you."

The little fellow nodded contentedly. Grandma was so easy to talk to. Did that mean she would help him vent his resentment? Well, let Huanhuan be with Huo Jinnan then, even if it meant letting him off easy!

Wen Ru kept her gaze on the little guy, observing his features. There was indeed a resemblance to Huanhuan, and he was so endearing. It was impossible to dislike him.

After a while, she looked up at Zhong Qin, "Please sit. Has Xiaowei always been with you guys all these years?"

"I’m rarely in Hong Kong, and Xiaowei has always lived with Anan," Zhong Qin said, looking at the little guy with a smile, and began chatting with Wen Ru.

Neither of them brought up the Huo Family or the Gu Family.

...

When Che Huan entered, she saw the two people chatting amiably and couldn’t react at first. Could it be that her mother really had a good relationship with Aunt Zhong before?

Then, seeing the little fellow sitting beside her mother, so favored, she suddenly felt very wronged.

One was her daughter, and the other was her grandson. How could there be such a difference in treatment?

Wen Ru saw Che Huan, her face becoming somewhat unnatural, "Huanhuan, your aunt and I discussed you and... Anan’s matter. You guys can decide for yourselves."

Her first response was that she had heard wrong!

Che Huan looked towards Wen Ru and saw a faint smile on her mother’s face; she stood there, stunned, unable to react for a long time.

Zhong Qin saw Che Huan’s expression, stood up, and took her hand, "Didn’t you hear what your mom just said?"

"I... I heard it..."

Che Huan took a few steps forward and looked at Wen Ru lying in bed. Could it be that her mother had agreed just like that?

Wen Ru’s cheeks turned slightly red and she looked down at the little guy, "Xiaowei, go watch TV with your mom. I have some things to discuss with your grandma."

The little fellow obediently "Hmm’d" in response, hopped off the bed, walked to Che Huan, and took her hand like a little gentleman, "Huanhuan, let’s go out for a walk."

Che Huan replied with a sound, took the little fellow’s hand, and glanced again at Wen Ru and Zhong Qin before walking out with furrowed brows.

After Che Huan left, Zhong Qin closed the door and turned back to Wen Ru, "How have you been these years?"

Wen Ru lay there lost in thought, reminded of painful memories, her expression darkened, "Not great, but not terrible. Just that Huanhuan has suffered. I’m not a good mother."
