Huo Jinnan followed and offered Wen Hua a cigarette.
Wen Hua looked at it for a moment, took it, and held it in his hand.
Huo Jinnan made a clicking sound with the lighter and handed it to Wen Hua.
Wen Hua leaned in to light his cigarette and took a deep drag, slowly speaking, "I don’t understand, with all the women you could have, why it has to be Huanhuan?"
Huo Jinnan extinguished the lighter, his slender fingers holding the cigarette as he looked into the distance, "Some things are inevitable."
Wen Hua took a puff of his cigarette, "I believe you must have heard some things."
Indeed, he knew a little, though not in great detail.
Huo Jinnan’s gaze darkened, and he took an enchanting drag, "Those matters have nothing to do with me and Che Huan."
"It doesn’t become irrelevant just because you say it’s irrelevant," Wen Hua’s voice grew colder, his expression chilling, standing there with an added air of frostiness.
Huo Jinnan turned to look at Wen Hua, "Che Huan and I have a child together. Is that reason enough for you?"
A child?
Wen Hua stood there for a long while before he gathered his wits, looking at Huo Jinnan, "Are you saying Huanhuan is pregnant?"
Huo Jinnan cast his eyes down to the cigarette between his fingers and flicked away the ash, "No, the child is already four years old."
Four years old!
So the child that Che Huan gave birth to was Huo Jinnan’s?
But wasn’t that child lost?
Huo Jinnan looked up at Wen Hua, "If you’re worried, I can give you the basics. Some things are better not known by her until they’re cleared up. I don’t want anyone taking advantage of her and the child."

He stood in silence for a long while.
Huo Jinnan took another drag of his cigarette and turned back toward the hallway.
Seeing Che Huan with tears in her eyes as she came out, Huo Jinnan moved towards her and reached out to wipe the tears from the corner of her eyes.
Standing by, Wen Nuan sucked in her cheek and glanced at Huo Jinnan before quietly walking away, catching a glimpse of Wen Hua approaching.
In a low voice, Wen Hua asked Wen Nuan, "What happened?"
Wen Nuan pulled Wen Hua aside, "My aunt was talking about Sister Huanhuan."
"What did she say?"
Wen Hua looked in the direction of Che Huan and Huo Jinnan, withdrawing his gaze, still stunned by the recent shock.
Wen Nuan gently tugged at Wen Hua’s sleeve, "Tell me, why is my aunt even more old-fashioned than you and my mom?"
At the words "old-fashioned", Wen Hua’s brows furrowed.
Realizing she had misspoken, Wen Nuan sneaked a glance at Wen Hua, "Dad, I didn’t mean it like that."
Wen Hua’s tone became noticeably heavier, "Speak, what exactly happened?"
Wen Nuan whispered, "My aunt asked who Sister Huanhuan’s man was."
