Chapter 244: 246 Dreaming of Calling My Name? (2)_1
Wen Nuan stared in astonishment at the sudden appearance of the male god!
Huo Jinnan stepped closer, glanced at Wen Nuan, and asked in a low, mellow voice, "What evidence?"
Snapped back to reality, Wen Nuan stealthily glanced at Che Huan’s expression. Would Sister Huanhuan want to strangle her?
She stood there, silent.
Huo Jinnan swept a look at Wen Nuan. "Cell phone."
The male god’s voice seemed to possess a naturally compelling power, and by the time she realized it, her hand was already extending towards Huo Jinnan with the phone.
She... she really didn’t do it on purpose!
It was too late to retract her hand when she felt it lighten as the phone reached the male god’s hand.
Huo Jinnan held the phone, glanced at it, swiped a pattern, saw the error message, and from his suit pocket, he produced a memory card, inserting it into Wen Nuan’s phone.
Seconds later, he powered up the phone, landing right at the voice playback interface.
He pressed play, saved the content to his own memory card, ejected the card, and returned the phone to Wen Nuan.
Standing by, Wen Nuan watched, dumbfounded, and just as incredulous was Che Huan!
By the time she reacted, her instincts to snatch the memory card from Huo Jinnan’s hand kicked in.
Huo Jinnan had already slipped the card into his suit pocket.
Che Huan’s reaching hand retracted awkwardly, and she lifted her head to look at Huo Jinnan.
Huo Jinnan, with his dark eyes, gave her a sweep. "Calling out my name in your dreams?"
"..."
Che Huan stood there, silent, her normally pale face now as red as a boiled shrimp.
Huo Jinnan gave her another glance, and entered the Army Hospital ahead of her.
Che Huan stared at his receding figure.
After a long while, she turned and glared at Wen Nuan.
Wen Nuan quickly pleaded, "Sister Huanhuan, it really wasn’t my fault! My hand moved faster than my thoughts! I didn’t mean to."
Che Huan said nothing, sullenly entered the Army Hospital.
Wen Nuan quieted down considerably, following behind with small steps. She really hadn’t done it on purpose! What can be done now, after all that has happened?
At nightfall, would Sister Huanhuan possibly strangle her in her sleep?
So scared!
Her heart in her throat, she trailed behind Che Huan.
Che Huan didn’t speak to Wen Nuan, proceeding to handle her resignation process in silence.
After completing the paperwork, she went to the nurse station and glimpsed Head Nurse Gao, feeling an unexplainable guilt inside.
Head Nurse Gao also noticed Che Huan, "Xiaoche, why are you standing at the door? Come in."
Che Huan walked in. "Nurse Gao, I’ve come to say goodbye. I’m truly sorry."
"Don’t mention it. Come in," Nurse Gao said with a smile towards Che Huan.
Che Huan packed up her things, left the nurse station, walked a few steps, then turned to glance at Wen Nuan. "Hold on to these for me. I’m going to the restroom."
Finally, she spoke to her. Was that a sign that Sister Huanhuan had forgiven her?
Wen Nuan replied with an "Oh," happily taking the bag and the books from Che Huan’s arms.
Che Huan looked at her, helplessly smiled, and headed off toward the restroom.
After few steps, she saw Huo Jinnan. She wanted to turn and leave, but remembering there was no restroom outside, she steeled herself and walked past him.
Her shoulder brushed his suit sleeve, as if touching something heavy, making her arm ache.
Only after a few steps away did her tense breathing gradually become much smoother.
Once inside the restroom, she stood in front of the sink, looked at herself in the mirror, closed her eyes and splashed her face vigorously with cold water. As she raised her head and opened her eyes, she saw the man’s profound facial features suddenly reflected on the mirror, gradually enlarging, becoming clearer and clearer!
The faucet continued to run, "whoosh whoosh whoosh——"
