Chapter 1084: 1095 Virus (3)
Xiang Feng sneered, "Don’t think I don’t know what you’re plotting?"
Xiang Xiran turned to Xiang Feng, "Dad, haven’t you always wanted to turn him into one of us? Isn’t this the perfect opportunity?"
Xiang Feng, "It could also be feeding the tiger to our own detriment!"
...
Muhe Hospital
Huo Bei entered the ward and looked at Huo Jinnan, "Sir, the person sent by Xiang Xiran has been dealt with."
Huo Jinnan looked at Huo Bei, his eyes cold as frost, "Discuss with the old man about how to proceed, step by step. If anything unexpected happens, call me immediately."
Huo Bei glanced at Huo Jinnan, recalling the phone call made by the young master before leaving, "Sir, your health..."
Huo Jinnan looked at Huo Bei, his eyes dark as ink.
Huo Bei swallowed his words, "I’ll take care of it now."
Huo Jinnan watched Huo Bei’s back, picked up his phone, and called Jin Bo, "What’s going on with your health?"
Jin Bo had just finished a meeting, returned to his office, and paused at Huo Jinnan’s words, pulling up a crossbow and firing a shot, "A virus. From what Ye Bai says, the virus in you is similar to mine, and there is currently no antibody."
Huo Jinnan sat there, looking in Qin Huan’s direction, silent for a while, "How many years has the virus been in you?"
Jin Bo put down the crossbow, "Seven years."
Seven years?
That means it was the year they thought he died!
Huo Jinnan’s slender fingers unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt, "Does this mean I can live for at least seven years?"
Jin Bo paused, his gaze changing several times, finally telling the truth, "Not necessarily. The fastest could be a month; hardly anyone makes it past a year. I’m the longest survivor so far."
Huo Jinnan heard this and furrowed his brows. A month isn’t nearly enough for him! A year isn’t enough!
He glanced towards Qin Huan.
He seduced her, made her fall in love with him, wanting to be with her for a lifetime.
Jin Bo leaned back on the black leather chair, his voice naturally cold, "Keeping a good mindset helps. It’s like cancer – the more afraid you are, the faster it spreads, but the less you care, the longer you live. As for cigarettes, smoke them if you want. Look at me; I’ve smoked for seven years and am still the longest survivor."
Huo Jinnan didn’t speak. Although his brother spoke casually, it was clear he hadn’t had it easy these seven years.
After a long time, he asked in a low voice, "You weren’t on the fighter jet seven years ago?"
Jin Bo lit a cigarette, his thin lips holding it, took a drag, and answered heavily, "No, I wasn’t on the fighter jet."
Huo Jinnan didn’t ask further. He likely took a special assignment that even Grandpa was unaware of.
Which is good! If he had been on the fighter jet, he couldn’t possibly be alive now.
After a long silence from Huo Jinnan, Jin Bo frowned slightly, "Haven’t had an outbreak yet, have you?"
Huo Jinnan answered coldly, "No, what happens during an outbreak?"
Jin Bo recalled his state during an outbreak, taking several deep drags, "It’s worse than death. At its worst, I pointed a gun at my own temple."
Huo Jinnan didn’t reply.
Jin Bo continued, "It’s like a drug addiction; each episode is fiercer than the last. You should be mentally prepared. Injecting the same virus during an outbreak can alleviate the pain, but the next outbreak will be much worse, and you’ll die even faster. No matter how painful, hold on."
Huo Jinnan chuckled lightly, "If you can endure it, why can’t I?"
Jin Bo paused, "I injected once and almost died. It’s much more painful than you imagine."
Huo Jinnan sat there silently, thinking of that nightmare.
