Chapter 874: Chapter 917: Searching for Medicine

Upon hearing Ye Anxin say she’s tired, Mu Rufeng quickly stood up from the sofa, "Alright! I’ll go with you to your room to rest!"

Ye Anxin shook her head, "No need, I’m not a three-year-old child always needing company! You have your own things to do, go take care of them! I can go back to my room alone!"

Mu Rufeng hesitated, "But... I’m worried about you!"

"It’s fine, I’m in my twenties, and this is home, what’s there to worry about!" With that, she smiled at Mu Rufeng, stood up, and walked toward her room.

Watching her leave, Mu Rufeng stood there, wanting to go but hesitating, showing an indecisive look.

Ye Anxin reached the door, touched the doorknob, about to open it, when suddenly she seemed to remember something and turned around to ask, "Oh, Rufeng, where’s my bag? Did you get it back?"

Mu Rufeng quickly nodded, "Got it back! I put it on the desk in your room!"

Ye Anxin asked with concern, "Oh! Are you okay? Did the person who snatched my bag do anything to you? Did you get hurt?"

"I’m fine, fine! Just a bag snatcher! He couldn’t hurt me! Handling him was a breeze!" Mu Rufeng quickly replied with a smile, not forgetting to praise himself.

Ye Anxin nodded, "Glad you’re okay! I’ll go back to my room to rest now! Do whatever you need to do, don’t worry about me!"

Mu Rufeng smiled and said, "Okay! Rest well, let me know if you’re hungry!"

"Mm!" Ye Anxin responded obediently, turned the doorknob, and went into the room.

Inside the room, instead of going to bed, she walked to the desk, opened her bag, and took out the phone inside. Then she opened the drawer, looking for something.

She remembered that whenever Mu Rufeng gave her medicine, it seemed to be from this desk.

Before, she hadn’t thought much of it and never questioned what medicine he was giving her! But today, after listening to Mu Beiting and Pete, she had to find the medicine and check.

But after searching through the drawers on both sides of the desk, she couldn’t find the medicine she usually took.

The more she couldn’t find it, the colder Ye Anxin’s heart grew!

After putting everything back and confirming she wouldn’t leave any evidence, Ye Anxin finally took her phone and lay on the bed.

Though she said she was tired, sleepy, and wanted to rest, she couldn’t fall asleep lying in bed! Her mind was full of images of Mu Beiting and little Chu Yi.

Thinking of little Chu Yi, Ye Anxin’s hand unconsciously touched the scar on her lower abdomen!

Her child, Mu Shaobai, and the little baby she held in her arms who laughed at her!

Thinking of them warmed her heart! Just separated recently, yet now she desperately missed that little baby, wishing she could see her immediately!

Unaware of how much time had passed, the room door suddenly opened! Light footsteps approached her!

Sensing Mu Rufeng’s approach, Ye Anxin couldn’t help but feel a bit tense, gripping her phone tighter and tighter!

"No! I’ve slept well already!" Saying that, Ye Anxin sat up, glanced out the window, seeing it was already dark outside, hurriedly asked, "How long did I sleep, it’s already dark outside, have you and Mom eaten yet?"

Mu Rufeng shook his head, "Not yet! I didn’t want you left alone at home! So, I waited for you to wake up to eat together!"

"If you and Mom are hungry, go ahead and eat! No need to wait for me! Now Mom will surely blame me again!" Saying that, she quickly crawled out of bed, went into the bathroom to brush her hair, freshen up.

Mu Rufeng followed to the bathroom door, leaned on it, smilingly said, "It’s okay, Mom’s harsh words hide a soft heart, she actually cares about you a lot!"

Ye Anxin did not respond, just glanced at him lightly, then quickly freshened up, took Mu Rufeng’s hand, and left the room together.

Seeing Ye Anxin come out, Mu’s mother rolled her eyes, impatiently said, "Finally awake! If you didn’t wake up soon, I’d starve!"

Ye Anxin quickly apologized, "Mom, I’m sorry, I’m sorry! I accidentally overslept! Let’s go! Let’s go out to eat!"

"Hmph! Truly a jinx, since you came to this house, nothing has gone smoothly!" Mu’s mother glared at Ye Anxin, picked up her bag, stood up and left first.
