Chapter 2492: Revealing the Truth of the Demonic Realm

Yuan took a deep breath before speaking, "What you learn today will change your entire perspective of demons, and some might not even believe me because of how ridiculous it sounds. Unfortunately, everything I say from now on is the truth."

The Demon Sealers swallowed nervously after seeing the grave expression on Yuan’s face.

After a moment of silence, Yuan began, "When demons first appeared, no one knew where they had come from, and most assumed they originated from the Starry Sky. In reality, however, they came from the Demonic Realm—a place long believed to have been ’created’ by the first demon, the Red Tyrant, as a sanctuary for demonkind."

"Not only did the Red Tyrant not create the Demonic Realm, but their world has existed long before the Nine Heavens. As for the demons that came to our world... they did not come here by choice and were chased away from their own home."

The Demon Sealers’ eyes widened with surprise at this revelation, but they remained silent.

"As you all probably know by now, I have been inside the Demonic Realm since my disappearance, and I have learned a lot about their kind and history while I was there. I thought I learned a lot about them during my first visit to the Demonic Realm, but it turns out that I was still a frog in a well and that I didn’t know them as much as I thought."

"Anyway, within the Demonic Realm, there exist two kinds of demons. The first kind is the one all of you are familiar with—bloodthirsty, cruel, and heinous fiends that bathe themselves in the blood of innocents. They are the ones who enslaved our world during the Demonic Era, and they are the ones that must be annihilated."

"Then there is the second kind of demons..."

After a brief pause, Yuan continued, "To be frank, I do not know how else to describe them aside from ’human,’ because aside from their demonic appearance, they are no different from us. These demons possess emotions, reason, and self-control just like humans do."

"WHAT?!"

Multiple people cried out in shock and disbelief upon hearing such a revelation.

However, Yuan ignored the commotion and continued, "The first kind of demons are known as ’Forsaken’ within the Demonic Realm. They terrorize their own people just as they once terrorized us, which is why they are all captured and confined within a place similar to the Primordial Realm—forever imprisoned and separated from the rest of the population."

"Quite frankly, Forsakens are not all that different from the criminals and monsters that we, as a normal and peaceful society, must deal with. No matter how many good apples there are, there will always be rotten ones who steal, murder, and commit all sorts of heinous acts."

Yuan sighed before continuing, "In our world, those who commit crimes are either imprisoned or executed. However, the peaceful demons only truly have one option... imprisonment, since demons, especially powerful ones, are not so easy to kill."

"Furthermore, any demon—regardless of how peaceful or righteous they may be—has a chance of turning into a Forsaken. It is somewhat akin to an incurable disease."

"Although the Demonic Realm is vast—far larger than the Nine Heavens—their immortality has led to severe overpopulation and a shortage of resources. Because of this, they chose to send the Forsaken far away beyond their world... unknowingly sending them to ours."

Yuan paused briefly before continuing, "Before my first visit to the Demonic Realm, they were completely unaware of our existence, just as we knew nothing about them."

"I will now give you some time to digest this information before I continue," he said before falling silent. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"There’s still more?!" The Demon Sealers were bewildered.

Soon, they started chatting amongst themselves.

"So demons are not that different from us..."

"Shit... what the hell are we supposed to do with this sort of information?"

Someone raised their hand and asked, "Divine Paragon, I have a question!"

Yuan looked at the man and muttered, "Who?"

"...Senior Tian! I have a question!"

Yuan nodded with a smile, "Ask away."

"What is the... your purpose for telling us this information? It feels like you are trying to change our perception of their existence, as if there is a chance we might co-exist in the future."

"Oh?" Yuan raised an eyebrow, looking somewhat surprised by their question. "How perceptive of you. What is your name?"

"This humble junior is named Zhou Yanfei, the current leader of the Demon Sealing Grotto! We are—"

"I am aware of the Demon Sealing Grotto," Yuan interrupted.

"As for your question... I will get straight to the point. I cannot say what may or may not happen in the future, as I am no fortune teller. However, I do have a feeling that our interactions with the Demonic Realm will become far more frequent moving forward. After all, during my time trapped within the Demonic Realm, I met and spoke with their leaders personally."

Another Demon Sealer raised their hand and asked, "Even if there are ’human-like’ demons, I don’t think it’s possible for us to coexist with them—especially after everything that has happened. And if ordinary demons can become Forsaken at any moment, wouldn’t that make them even more dangerous?"

Yuan then said, "Only time will tell whether or not we can truly accept them. As for the Forsaken... if they appear, then we simply slay them."

He paused briefly before continuing, "After all, we already coexist with magical beasts, even though the vast majority of them lack intelligence and act purely on wild instinct—much like the Forsaken."

When Yuan compared the Forsaken to magical beasts, many of the people present could immediately see the resemblance.

However, while magical beasts had always existed within their world, demons were essentially foreign beings from another realm, making them far more difficult to accept.

"If you need another reason to accept them..." Yuan closed his eyes and took a deep breath before revealing the biggest revelation yet.

"Demons... were originally humans."
