Chapter 2482: Trusting Yan Hara

Inside the Valley of Demons, Yan Hara laughed madly as she sealed one demon after another.

"Is this all you’ve got, Demon Emperor?!"

"Swords of Eternal Torment!"

"Demon Sealing Zone!"

In the blink of an eye, over half of the demons that ambushed her turned into stone statues.

"What the hell is going on?! Why is she so powerful?!"

"How come I have never heard of her name before? Where did this monster come from?!"

The demons were left utterly dumbfounded by Yan Hara’s overwhelming prowess, reminding them of the Divine Paragon.

"What should we do, Emperor Carnage?"

"At this rate, we’ll all be sealed by that woman!"

The remaining demons turned to Demon Emperor Carnage for guidance.

"Tch..." Demon Emperor Carnage sucked his teeth with an irritated frown on his face.

He could’ve never anticipated that the woman who was powerless before him not long ago would become so disgustingly powerful.

"We’re leaving!" Demon Emperor Carnage said before turning around to flee.

"Where do you think you’re going?" Yan Hara’s eyes widened with surprise when the demons suddenly turned to flee, and she immediately gave chase.

Even when the demons scattered in different directions, Yan Hara continued chasing without any hesitation or pause, her target being Demon Emperor Carnage from the very start.

"I will seal you even if it’s the last thing I do!" Yan Hara shouted, her voice echoing loudly through the valley.

After nearly an entire hour of chasing, Demon Emperor Carnage came to a sudden halt and turned around to face Yan Hara.

"Have you finally accepted your fate?!" Yan Hara laughed as she attacked without the slightest delay.

However, just as she struck at Demon Emperor Carnage, Yan Hara sensed a faint presence materialize behind her like a ghost.

Before she could fully react, a burst of spiritual energy exploded at her back, and a searing pain tore through her.

*Cough*

Yan Hara crashed to the ground, coughing up a mouthful of blood.

"Which bastard—?!" Yan Hara whipped around to face her assailant, and to her utter shock, she found herself staring at a familiar face.

"Qian Chu!" she growled, her voice low and venomous, as though she were facing her archenemy.

Meanwhile, outside the Valley of Demons, the Demon Sealers and spectators that didn’t leave were puzzled when the display suddenly vanished.

"What the hell?! What happened to the broadcast? It was just getting to the good part!"

The display had turned off right when Demon Emperor Carnage stopped to face Yan Hara, so nobody there knew about Qian Chu’s sneak attack.

"What is the meaning of this?!" Yan Hara’s supporters immediately questioned Qian Chu’s supporters.

"W-We have nothing to do with this!" one of them said.

"How can we trust you at this point!"

"Open the portal! We’re going inside!"

"What are you all so worried about? It’s not like she can’t handle a Demon Emperor. I’m sure it’s only temporary, and the display will be fixed soon."

Hearing this seemingly reasonable explanation, Yan Hara’s supporters calmed down slightly—though they couldn’t completely shake the unease gnawing at their hearts.

Ten minutes slipped by, yet the display did not return. Then half an hour passed—still nothing.

After a full hour without any sign of the projection coming back, Yan Hara’s supporters could no longer endure it and demanded the portal be opened.

However, Qian Chu’s supporters refused, insisting that interfering would invalidate the Demon Slaying Parade and that they had to wait until the event concluded before entering.

"There’s only one day left... we should have some more faith in Senior Yan."

"Once the Demon Slaying Parade is over tomorrow, Senior Yan will become the next leader of the Demon Sealing Clan!"

"Right! Let’s trust Senior Yan!"

Not far away, Meixiu and Yuan sat side by side, watching events unfold.

"What do you think?" Meixiu asked, leaning into him, her head resting on his shoulder.

"She will be fine," he responded.

"How can you be so sure?" Keling, who was sitting behind them, asked.

"I just do."

While everyone anxiously awaited the end of the Demon Slaying Parade’s final day, Yan Hara continued fighting both Demon Emperor Carnage and Qian Chu at the same time, all while still injured from the earlier sneak attack.

"What happened to your energy from before, huh?!" Demon Emperor Carnage laughed out loud as he bombarded Yan Hara with powerful blood techniques.

Although Yan Hara could deal with Demon Emperor Carnage, Qian Chu’s attacks were a different story. Not only was Qian Chu not affected by Demon Sealing Aura, but his cultivation was also superior.

"Do you have no shame, Qian Chu?! Not only did you ambush me, but you’re working alongside a Demon Emperor!" Yan Hara shouted angrily as blood covered nearly every inch of her body.

Qian Chu calmly stared at her and responded in a nonchalant voice, "You can blame nobody but yourself for stepping out of your boundaries, Yan Hara. Had you not coveted my position, you wouldn’t be in this situation right now."

"Is this really about your position, or is this about something else?" Yan Hara glared at him.

"Hmph." Qian Chu coldly sneered. "I have no time to chat nonsense with you. Hand over the Divine Paragon’s legacy and we’ll give you a painless death."

"..."

Yan Hara fell silent, blood dripping from her face.

"The Divine Paragon’s legacy... you can forget about it because I will never hand it over," she muttered a moment later.

"Then I will just retrieve it from your corpse." Qian Chu sneered. "There are plenty of methods to retrieve memories from a corpse, after all."

"You will never get away with this!" Yan Hara roared.

"I have no intention of running away," Qian Chu calmly revealed.

"Once I open the Demonic Realm, I will plunge this—and that world into complete chaos!"

"What...?" Yan Hara frowned at his puzzling words, even wondering if she’d heard him correctly.

As if he could read her mind, Qian Chu suddenly said, "You heard me correctly."

"But why—"

Yan Hara opened her mouth to ask, but Qian Chu attacked before she could finish, unleashing a technique that was too massive to avoid.

"Damn it..." Yan Hara cursed in a low voice, closing her eyes as she silently accepted her fate.
