Chapter 2477: The Divine Paragon’s Resurrection(2)

After departing with the surviving Demon Sealers, Yuan was brought to the headquarters of the Demon Sealing Clan located there.

Throughout the entire journey, the Demon Sealers couldn’t stop staring at him.

To them, the Divine Paragon was a legendary figure from the distant past—one of the most important individuals in all of history.

Seeing him with their own eyes was like discovering a priceless treasure thought to have gone extinct long ago.

"He looks just like the statue in the Grand Library..."

"Of course he does!"

Inside the headquarters, the Demon Sealers treated Yuan as though he were an emperor himself—personally opening doors for him and even dusting off chairs before he sat down.

"So, how long have I been gone? And how has the world been doing since my disappearance?" Yuan questioned as sipped on the most valuable tea the Demon Sealers had prepared for him.

"Your Reverence, it has been millions of years since your disappearance, and the world has changed quite drastically since your era."

The Demon Sealers proceeded to recount all of the major events that had occurred since the Demonic Era—from the splitting of the Divine Heavens to the countless incidents that had drastically reshaped their world.

"Nine Heavens, huh..." Yuan muttered, pretending to be surprised by the revelation.

"So, how do people travel between the realms these days?" Yuan asked afterward.

"Well..." the Demon Sealers explained, "we used to have something called the Stairway to Heaven, which allowed passage throughout the Nine Heavens. Unfortunately, after certain individuals attacked it, the Stairway vanished without a trace and hasn’t reappeared since."

"Does that mean traveling between realms is not possible right now?"

"That is correct for the time being, as nobody but those with flying treasures capable of traveling in the starry sky can leave their realm. However, the Celestial Emperor has recently reassured us that they are working on resolving this issue soon with a new treasure."

"Is that so..."

Although no one knew what had happened to the Stairway to Heaven, Yuan knew exactly where it had gone and how to bring it back.

When he had created the Stairway to Heaven as the God of Creation, he had embedded a defensive mechanism within it.

Whenever the structure came under a sufficiently powerful attack, it would conceal itself and retreat to a hidden location. Minor attacks that couldn’t even scratch it would simply be ignored, but anything capable of potentially damaging the Stairway to Heaven would automatically trigger the mechanism.

Not only that, but it would not reappear until its owner deactivated the mechanism, so if Yuan were dead, the Stairway to Heaven would remain gone forever.

One might think someone could stumble upon it by accident, but the Stairway to Heaven possessed another safeguard, and it would immediately relocate itself whenever it sensed a presence other than its master’s nearby.

And beyond that, a third mechanism rendered the entire structure completely invisible and undetectable.

If all of these mechanisms were to fail... there would be more of them just in case.

Although this much caution may seem overboard, the Stairway to Heaven wasn’t just a treasure meant for traveling the Nine Heavens.

It also functioned as his personal storage, containing countless priceless and even extinct treasures that he’d acquired throughout multiple lifetimes.

"How’s the Demon Sealing Clan doing?" Yuan suddenly asked.

An awkward silence quickly filled the room as the members of the Demon Sealing Clan and the Demon Sealing Grotto exchanged uneasy glances with one another.

No one wanted to be the one to tell the Divine Paragon that his Demon Sealing Clan had become disarray—splitting into two factions that were now openly at war with each other.

"What’s wrong? Why aren’t any of you speaking?" Yuan pressed when nobody responded.

"That’s..."

In the end, the Demon Sealers revealed the truth to him, as nobody dared to lie to him, even if the revelation wasn’t good and could potentially anger him.

"I see," Yuan murmured, closing his eyes, his expression calm and unreadable.

"I can’t say I didn’t expect it. The Demon Sealing Clan was never an official organization—just something pieced together by a bunch of random people who followed me on their own accord," he said a moment later.

"However, it still saddens me that Demon Sealers are spending more time fighting amongst themselves than demons, defeating their purpose."

Hearing his words, the Demon Sealers there all fell to their knees and apologized in union, "We were wrong! Please punish us as you see fit!"

Yuan shook his head and sighed. "What good would punishing you do now? It’d just be a waste of time and effort. Just stop fooling around and focus on being a Demon Sealer. That said, you might not have to stay a Demon Sealer for much longer, as you’ll no longer have a reason to be one."

"By saying that... Do you mean you’ll eradicate all of the demons once and for all?"

He nodded.

"Yes, I intend on killing every single demon in this world," he declared.

However, he decided not to reveal the truth about the Demonic Realm until he achieved his goal. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

The Demon Sealers swallowed nervously at hearing what was essentially their dream. Had anyone else said such words, they wouldn’t have believed it so readily, but coming from the Divine Paragon himself, they accepted it without hesitation.

"What are the other Demon Sealers doing right now?" Yuan then asked.

"That’s..."

When Yuan mentioned the others, the Demon Sealers immediately realized that they had been so occupied by his presence that they forgot to notify the others of the situation.

"T-They are currently..."

They told him about the situation and about the Demon Slaying Parade.

"Demon Slaying Parade?" Yuan muttered this unfamiliar name and inquired for more information, and the Demon Sealers provided the information.

"I see..." He mumbled. "So this Yan Hara—who has received my legacy—is fighting for the Clan Leader’s position..."

Yuan suddenly stood up and said, "Let’s go."

"Umm... where to...?"

"Where else? I want to take a look at my successor and the current leader of the Demon Sealing Clan!"
