Chapter 2472: The Demon Slaying Parade Begins!
"The Divine Paragon’s techniques? Oh, right. I never thanked you for retrieving them," Qian Chu spoke with a cold smile. "Thanks to you, I will be able to enjoy them after this."
"Speaking as if you’ve already won, huh?" Yan Hara shook her head.
After a brief moment of silence, a mysterious smile tugged at Yan Hara’s lips before she spoke, "Oh, right... I heard that you’re neither human nor a demon."
The smile on Qian Chu’s face instantly faded at her words, replaced by a deep frown.
"Where... and whom did you hear that from?" he muttered in an enraged voice.
Even though she’d deliberately provoked him, Yan Hara was taken aback by Qian Chu’s reaction.
She had never seen him so furious before.
His face twisted so violently with rage it looked as though he were watching his entire family being slaughtered before his eyes—as if Yan Hara had just touched his reverse scale.
But rather than answering Qian Chu’s question, Yan Hara pressed further, "Seeing your reaction, I guess that information was genuine. If you’re neither human nor demon, just exactly what are you? An artificial demon? A doll? A golem? A zombie? A—"
"SHUT THE HELL UP!" Qian Chu roared, his voice rippling through the entire arena.
His outburst was so sudden and loud that it instantly silenced the crowd, and everyone turned to stare at him with dumbfounded faces.
"..."
For a brief moment, the entire arena fell so silent that even a whisper could have been heard from miles away.
Many moments passed, but Qian Chu didn’t say another word, much less explain his outburst. Once it became clear he had no intention of doing so, the crowd pretended it had never happened and resumed talking—only in noticeably quieter tones. In fact, everyone was essentially whispering now, mistakenly assuming Qian Chu had been irritated by their earlier noise.
As for Yan Hara, she let the matter drop and stayed quiet until the Demon Slaying Parade began a few minutes later. Though an amused smile lingered on her face the entire time.
Eventually, the announcer declared, "Thank you all for your patience! The Demon Slaying Parade will now officially begin! The one-week will start once the participants enter the battlefield!"
Without another word, Qian Chu moved first, stepping into the portal.
Yan Hara took a deep breath and followed.
When she emerged on the other side, she found herself in a familiar place—the Demons’ Valley, also known as the Valley of Demons, a site the Demon Sealing Clan often used for examinations and training.
Yan Hara looked around, but Qian Chu, who had entered just seconds earlier, was nowhere to be seen.
But she wasn’t surprised, as she knew in advance that they would be separated from the start.
After taking a few seconds to examine her surroundings with divine sense, Yan Hara wasted no time and immediately chased after the nearest demon.
Of course, the demons used for the event weren’t real, but artificial demons. However, that didn’t mean Yan Hara could relax either, as these artificial demons were created specifically for the Demon Slaying Parade and had been tuned to their maximum difficulty.
Barely five minutes after the Demon Slaying Parade began, Yan Hara encountered her first demon and started on sealing it.
"Looks like Yan Hara has encountered her first demon—a Lower Demon!" The announcer spoke with enthusiasm for the spectators.
"There are a total of one hundred and one demons dwelling within the Valley of Demons, but not all of them are equal! There are seventy Lower Demons, twenty Elite Demons, seven Superior Demons, three Demon Generals, and a single Demon Emperor!"
"There are five different ranks of demons, and each of them grants a variety of points! Lower Demons grant one point, Elite Demons grant three points, Superior Demons grant ten points, Demon Generals grant twenty points, and last but not least—two hundred points for the Demon Emperor!"
"There are two strategies to the Demon Slaying Parade! The participants can either farm all of the weaker demons and slowly amass points, or go straight for the strongest ones for the most points! Of course, if one has the capability, then it would be wiser to go for the latter strategy!"
"Oh! Looks like the Clan Leader is going for the second strategy as he completely ignores the Lower Demons and goes straight for the Superior Demon!"
Half an hour later—
"The Clan Leader has finally caught up to the Superior Demon and begun sealing it, but in the meantime, Yan Hara has already hunted seven Lower Demons and in the middle of fighting her eighth! And it’s even an Elite Demon!"
"Good lord, look how fast that woman is sealing those demons! Is it really as easy as she makes it seem?" The spectators were left in awe by Yan Hara’s swift hunting, only needing two to three strikes before completely sealing the demons.
"Of course it’s not as easy as it seems! Even a Supreme Demon Sealer would need a dozen strikes to seal a Lower Demon! And the demons are all at the first level of God Ascension while she’s a mere Immortal, so she’s at a disadvantage!"
"Are the techniques she’s using the Divine Paragon’s lost techniques?"
"Of course not! She’s not even using any demon sealing techniques and merely using her demon sealing aura to seal the demons!"
"What’s the difference?"
"Using demon sealing techniques will make one’s demon sealing aura stronger while being more efficient. It works exactly like spiritual energy and martial techniques."
The Demon Sealers among the spectators took the opportunity to educate the uninformed audience—while subtly boasting about their own practices and expertise.
"At this pace, I doubt they will need an entire week to seal all of the demons," one of the spectators remarked.
"I would be surprised if they manage to kill even half of them in a week," said a Master Demon Sealer.
"The higher-ranking demons will not only take much more effort but time to seal. Look at the Clan Leader for example. He’s been fighting the Superior Demon for nearly an hour now, yet he still hasn’t managed to seal it."
