Chapter 339: Chapter 89: The Mystery of the Ninth Floor of the Earth Abyss (Part 2)
A golden light burst from the Immortal Binding Rope, instantly dissipating most of the Demonic Qi surrounding the Poisonous Toad.
Seizing the opportunity, Fang Cheng struck with a Demonic Light. The Poisonous Toad’s body trembled and froze in place.
Celestial Demon Divine Pearl Refining True Technique!
Fang Cheng pushed his Magical Power to its limit. A cascade of Demonic Light spells rained down like a waterfall. A palpable demonic will filled the air as the immense Demonic Light completely enveloped the Poisonous Toad.
Within the Demonic Light, the Poisonous Toad lost all ability to struggle. Its massive body slowly began to shrink.
After about the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, the mountain-sized Poisonous Toad had shrunk to about ten feet tall.
Fang Cheng reached out and pulled the Poisonous Toad from the Sword Array, drawing it before him before striking it with his palm.
BAM!
A dense cloud of Demon Fog erupted from the Poisonous Toad’s body and burst outward like a popping balloon.
Then, the cloud of Demon Fog rapidly collapsed inward, condensing in the blink of an eye into a pitch-black, longan-sized bead.
—a Celestial Demon Bead.
Fang Cheng grabbed the bead, gave it a careful look, then casually put it away.
’The Hidden Demon Sect’s Demon Taming Divine Techniques are pretty good. It’s a shame this Poisonous Toad is a bit useless. Even though it’s a Tier Three Demon, it has almost no combat effectiveness against other Life Soul Cultivators.’
’Its only redeeming quality is its Poison Path Divine Techniques.’
’I’ll leave it for Yan’Er and the others to use for protection later.’
Fang Cheng put away the Immortal Binding Rope and his Flying Sword and scanned his surroundings. He thought to himself, ’If I refined a dozen or so of these Celestial Demon Beads and strung them into a bracelet, it would make for a pretty powerful Magical Artifact.’
After clearing out the demons in the area, he pressed on and soon reached the entrance to the fifth floor.
The Array here had long since been breached by the demons. The area around the giant pit was desolate, without any sign of activity.
Fang Cheng charged straight through. The fifth floor... the sixth floor... the seventh floor.
Along the way, he encountered two more Tier Three Demons, both of which he refined into Celestial Demon Beads.
On the seventh floor, the number of Tier Three Demons increased significantly.
The pressure on Fang Cheng mounted. He no longer had the leisure to refine Celestial Demon Beads. Instead, he attacked with his full power, holding nothing back to utterly slay the demons. He would then use his Li Hen Demon Light to refine their essence and bolster his own strength.
The seventh floor was home to a demon clan known as the Nine-headed Gu Snakes.
This was a species of mutated beast with bird-like bodies and nine ferocious, sinister snake heads. Their feathers seemed to be condensed from pure lightning, and they radiated a vicious, tyrannical aura. Born with the innate ability to control Thunder Power, they were incredibly strong.
Wielding his sword, Fang Cheng carved a bloody path forward. He slew five Tier Three Nine-headed Gu Snakes, and countless more of their Tier Two brethren fell before he finally reached the entrance to the eighth floor.
This giant pit was even larger than the last. At its bottom, crimson clouds churned into a vortex that pulsed with rolling waves of demonic will.
Fang Cheng stood at the edge of the pit. After a moment of contemplation, he decided to summon his Tier Three Mechanical Armor.
Countless Bronze Small Swords materialized and converged around him, assembling into a suit of Bronze Battle Armor.
His aura slowly swelled, rising to the Life Soul Level.
He had already consumed over a hundred Upper-Grade Spirit Stones since acquiring this Tier Three Mechanical Armor.
A typical Life Talisman Cultivator would never be able to afford such a massive expenditure.
Fang Cheng passed through the crimson vortex. The moment he arrived on the Eighth Floor of the Earth Abyss, a dragon’s roar assaulted his ears.
The roar was vast and primordial, filled with an aura of nobility, majesty, and dominance. It was the sound of an emperor of heaven and earth, the sovereign of all creation.
He looked down to see a colossal dragon, over a thousand feet long and entirely a deep, dark blue, slithering through the air toward him from the pitch-black wasteland below.
Nine Dragon Horns sprouted from the colossal dragon’s head. Its body radiated a bone-chilling cold, and its Dragon Scales were covered in naturally formed, bizarre swirling patterns that could mesmerize and disorient any who looked upon them.
A Tier Three Demon, a Nine Netherworld Dragon!
Compared to the Nine Nether Flood Dragon Ren Yan once rode, the greatest difference in this Nether Dragon was the nine horns upon its head.
The nine Dragon Horns twisted and coiled together, forming what looked like a crown that shimmered with a deep, yet subdued, blue Demonic Light.
In the distance, across the vast, dark wasteland, the winding silhouettes of more dragons emerged, all flying in this direction.
They were almost all Tier Two Nether Dragons!
In the far distance, the auras of several other Tier Three Demons were also rapidly approaching.
If not for the natural barriers separating each of the Earth Abyss’s floors, which prevent demons from the lower levels from easily ascending, the Yinluo Sect might not have been able to withstand such a massive demonic force.
The lead Nine Netherworld Dragon fixed its fiery gaze on Fang Cheng. Within its majestic presence was an indescribable evil and viciousness.
It suddenly opened its mouth and exhaled. A blast of dark blue dragon’s breath, carrying a terrifying Demonic Qi that felt cold enough to freeze all of creation, swept toward Fang Cheng.
Fang Cheng’s figure blurred as he merged with his Youhong Sword, vanishing without a trace.
The dragon’s breath struck nothing but air.
The Nine Netherworld Dragon coiled in the air, about to search for any trace of Fang Cheng.
The next instant.
A sword’s cry rang out, echoing throughout the Eighth Floor of the Earth Abyss!
An invisible, formless, and incomparably sharp beam of sword light shot straight through the sky, flashing across the Nine Netherworld Dragon’s body.
A thin, straight fissure instantly appeared on the massive dragon’s body. Surging Demonic Light erupted from the gash, attempting to seal the wound.
The Nether Dragon threw its head back and roared in agony, but its body split apart nonetheless.
A sharp flash of sword light leaped forth, dicing the severed body into several more pieces and completely extinguishing its life force.
This Nether Dragon had only just fallen when the tide of its brethren surged forward from the distance.
Fang Cheng’s figure reappeared. The Sword Aura of his Youhong Sword flared, transforming into a massive, thousand-foot-long rainbow of light that shot violently toward the incoming tide of Nether Dragons.
A clap of rolling thunder followed in its wake.
The sword light blazed!
Like a scorching sun, it illuminated the entire Earth Abyss.
Moving at a terrifying speed, the colossal beam of sword light instantly tore through dozens of Nine Netherworld Dragons in a straight line, emerging on the far side of the draconic tide.
