Chapter 333: Chapter 84: Slaying the Demon King (Part 1)
Ren Yan’s expression darkened slightly. "That’s right," he said. "My senior sister once crossed swords with him. Logically, he shouldn’t have been able to break through so easily..."
He paused, then looked at the Southern Mang Demon King and said gravely, "The Yinluo Sect is already showing signs of a revival. I came to inform you of this, Demon King. You must take extra precautions against the Yinluo Sect in the future."
"Indeed." The Demon King nodded and sighed. "I’ve had a sudden premonition these past few days, a feeling of approaching crisis. I had originally planned to leave the Southern Mang Mountains for Jin Country to continue my cultivation after I finished refining my Lifebound Magical Artifact. It seems now I have no choice but to leave ahead of schedule."
"A good strategist knows how to endure," Ren Yan chimed in.
The expressions of the other Great Demons present finally changed. The more shrewd among them had already guessed why the Demon King had asked them to attend.
’The Demon King is leaving. Should we go with him or stay?’
These Great Demons had established themselves in the Southern Mang Mountains for many years. They were wealthy, with hordes of Demon Cultivators and Demon Beasts under their command. Their days were filled with feasting, drinking, and pleasure—a life of pure enjoyment.
If they went to Jin Country with the Demon King, they’d be leaving their homes behind, forced to compete for resources with the local Demon Race. Casualties would be inevitable.
But if they stayed in the Southern Mang Mountains, Tier Two Demon Cultivators like themselves could just find a place to hide for a while. The Yinluo Sect couldn’t possibly hunt down and exterminate every last one of them.
’Besides, the one who truly offended the Yinluo Sect is the Demon King himself. What does that have to do with us?’
The demons exchanged furtive glances.
The Demon King pretended not to notice. "Which of you are willing to follow me to Jin Country?" he asked cheerfully.
The Great Demons remained silent. Only the Ox Demon spoke up, his voice heavy. "Master, I am willing to go with you."
The words had barely left his lips when an earth-shattering BOOM echoed from outside, as if in answer.

Ji Jiuniang led Sun Fuguo and Fang Cheng down into a sinkhole, one surrounded by mountains and shrouded in a dense miasma. From there, they entered a cavern and followed a tunnel that had been carved out over millennia by a subterranean river. They walked for the time it takes a few sticks of incense to burn before finally stopping.
The three of them stood on the bank of the subterranean river, gazing at the ten-foot-wide, azure Treasure Bead resting on the riverbed.
Surrounding the Treasure Bead was a formidable array that pulsed with a divine light as heavy and immense as a mountain.
Ji Jiuniang whispered, "Immortal Warrior, this is the Demon King’s Pocket World Spiritual Building. The array on the outside is the Six Stars Five Elements Formation, a Tier Three Array left behind by a Demon King a thousand years ago."
A closer look revealed that the underwater array was continuously drawing upon the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi, forming a vast and powerful aura that enveloped the Pocket World Spiritual Building.
Yet, the array leaked no trace of its presence to the outside world. Without careful inspection, its aura was completely undetectable.
This showed just how carefully the Demon King had planned its concealment.
It was a pity. One could plan for the workings of heaven and earth, but the heart of a demon was far harder to predict.
In the end, he had failed to account for Ji Jiuniang...
Fang Cheng was growing more curious. ’How exactly did Xun Yuanchu and the other Elder Disciples of the Yinluo Sect manage to buy the loyalty of a Great Demon like Ji Jiuniang?’
’Could that Emperor Liquid truly be so vital to her?’
At that moment, Sun Fuguo’s eyes were like deep pools. He stared intently at the Six Stars Five Elements Formation outside the Treasure Bead for a moment, then decisively flicked his sleeve, unleashing his sword.
His sword light moved like a darting fish—nimble, ethereal, and as fine as a silk thread. In a mere instant, it circled the Grand Array outside the Treasure Bead ninety-nine times!
A piercing CRACK followed.
With a single strike, he had shattered the Third-tier Array laid by the Southern Mang Demon King.
TWANG!
A long, clear hum of a sword rang out as Sun Fuguo’s sword light transformed into a blazing white rainbow, striking viciously at the azure Treasure Bead.
The Treasure Bead burst forth with cascading layers of iridescent light, attempting to block the attack.
But before it could even withstand three strikes, a crack appeared in the layers of light. The next strike pierced straight through!
CRACK!
The Treasure Bead shattered.
First, a blinding jet of watery light shot out. It was immediately followed by a deafening BOOM as an infinite torrent of water materialized within the narrow cavern.
If one were to look down from the sky at that moment, they would have seen a depression nestled between the mountains. It had been covered with lush, towering ancient trees and thick, swirling miasma.
But then, the earth suddenly trembled. A fissure ripped through the dense forest, and a staggering torrent of water erupted, shooting straight into the clouds.
The ground was then forced upward by an incomparably powerful force, shattering and bursting apart.
From out of the earth, a lake had appeared out of thin air amid the mountains.
