Chapter 445: Chapter 386: The Genius Madwoman
Following Viola, the three flew over the war zone still sporadically exchanging fire.
They finally arrived at a seemingly unremarkable, lush green grassland.
Just as they approached, Jeming keenly perceived an extremely subtle spiritual fluctuation permeating the air.
This subtle spiritual fluctuation acted like an invisible barrier, quietly guiding the consciousness of outsiders, making all creatures who inadvertently approached this grassland instinctively want to stay away from this area.
"Basic psychological suggestion field, old trick."
Viola snorted and, without even needing Anya’s guidance, easily landed at a certain spot on the grassland, stretched out her fair hand, and lightly pressed the seemingly empty air.
Buzz...
With a slight hum, Jeming saw the air before him ripple like water, and a door with silver runes flowing along its edges appeared out of thin air.
Behind the door was not the grassland scene anymore, but a bright passage leading to the inside of a solitary high tower.
Anya watched in disbelief: "There’s actually a passage here?! I didn’t even know about it!"
"Little one, there’s much you don’t know. Come, this guy’s lab protection is too troublesome, remember to stay close to me later, don’t stray too far," Viola said.
Jeming nodded, stepping together with Anya into the passage.
The group quickly entered, Viola with a backward motion silently closed the air door, and the external grassland scene restored as if nothing had happened.
The inside of the tower wasn’t of conventional structure but filled with various intricately complex witchcraft instruments and energy conduits.
Jeming could clearly sense, there were numerous strict inspections for energy characteristics, soul fluctuations, and even thought activity levels along their path.
Thankfully, with Viola’s presence, they didn’t encounter any obstacles to reach a core area.
This was a vast room paved with pure silver-white metal, simple yet cold, with several large floating holographic screens hanging in the center.
On them flowed complex data and dynamic models like waterfalls, depicting the real-time conditions of the external "rebellion" and the energy and spiritual parameters of various creatures.
And in front of the light screens stood a figure.
No exaggeration, the figure before them perfectly fit the "classic high tier wizard template."
She seemed to not have groomed herself in a long time, hair messy and loose with several strands rebelliously standing up.
Her eyes were bloodshot from excessive focus, and although the material of the wizard robe she wore was extraordinary, it was worn crookedly, with the cuffs even showing stains that seemed like energy liquid.
"Grandmother," Anya walked forward and softly called, "Viola Wizard and her invited Jeming Wizard have arrived."
The wizard, who was immersed in the data ocean, suddenly snapped back to reality, her bloodshot eyes turned to Viola, and nodded sluggishly as a greeting.
Her gaze then quickly bypassed Viola, precisely locking onto Jeming.
In that instant, those originally weary eyes burst forth with a fervor comparable to searchlights!
Jeming only saw a blur as a powerful energy fluctuation swept over him, and the disheveled wizard seemed to have teleported right in front of him, with her hands eagerly about to grab him.
Jeming reflexively bristled, instinctively adopting a defensive posture.
"Stop!"
Fortunately, Viola was experienced, nearly predicting her action as she moved, skillfully reaching out.
Like picking up a kitten, she precisely grasped the wizard robe’s collar at the back of her neck, stopping her halfway, holding her in her hand.
"Starfall, calm down!" Viola said helplessly, "You will scare the kids like this. Don’t rush, take it step by step."
Then she turned to the somewhat bewildered Jeming, introducing: "Jeming, this is my friend, Sixth Level Wizard ’Starfall.’"
She then shook the wizard still struggling futilely in her hand: "Starfall, this is Jeming, the person you wanted to meet."
"Starfall?" Hearing this name, Jeming raised an eyebrow in surprise, looking at Anya Starfall beside him.
Previously, he heard Anya address her as grandmother, thinking it was just a normal blood relation, but didn’t expect this Sixth Level Wizard herself was the source of the name "Starfall."
In the Wizard World, only nobles have surnames, and these typically originate from the name or title of the founder.
To establish a wizard clan with one’s own title and pass it down as a surname in itself represents immense power and enduring heritage.
Interrupted by Viola, the Wizard named Starfall seemed to snap out of her fervent research state a bit.
She struggled to land from Viola’s grip, embarrassedly smoothing her frizzled hair, then hastily attempted to straighten the wrinkles in her wizard robe.
Only after taking a deep breath did she perform a standard and solemn wizard’s salute to Jeming, her voice slightly hoarse from long disuse: "Pardon my rudeness, Wizard Jeming. I am Starfall, and I’m pleased you could come."
Suppressing his inner surprise, Jeming returned the gesture with equal solemnity: "Lord Starfall, it’s an honor to meet you."
After the brief introductions, the atmosphere finally returned to a semblance of normalcy.
Wizard Starfall invited several people to sit on chairs formed by energy on one side of the room, and the formal conversation began.
Viola, having just sat down, was the first to speak, pointing at the intense battle scenes on the surrounding light screens: "What’s going on with this ’lively’ scene outside? Did your ’little experiment’ get out of hand again?"
A trace of embarrassment flashed across Wizard Starfall’s face, but even more was an uncontrollable excitement: "Yes... this was indeed caused by my experiment. But I didn’t lose control; the main reason is that I’ve recently made some critical breakthroughs in my research on ’spiritual’ laws, and then... accidentally, the scale and effects of the experiment slightly exceeded expectations..."
"Key breakthrough?" Jeming caught onto this phrase, recalling Starfall’s earlier eagerness when seeing him, and he tentatively asked, "I wonder what aspect Lord Starfall’s breakthrough pertains to? It seems related to my ’Fanciful Element’?"
"Exactly! That’s right!" At the mention of research, Wizard Starfall’s eyes lit up again, and she spoke quickly, "Wizard Jeming, the characteristics of the Fanciful Element you created are simply astounding!"
"My research found that this element is not a dead thing; it contains an extremely pure and special ’potential spirituality’, which is like a blank page but has strong adaptability and guidance!"
She waved her arms, appearing very excited: "It can subtly guide the life forms it interacts with towards ’optimized evolution’ in a more complete, coordinated, and potential-rich direction! More importantly—although it doesn’t possess formed intelligence itself, I’ve found a method to use it as a ’spark of spirituality’ and ’cognitive template’ to forcibly ’ignite’ the flame of wisdom in those life foundations that originally lacked intelligence!"
Jeming timely showed a look of amazement and admiration: "Guiding evolution... igniting wisdom, this is truly incredible!"
However, beyond the slight amazement on his face, a storm was already surging in his heart.
Being a cultivator himself, he knew better what this actually meant.
Enlightenment!
This was the art of enlightenment!
This Wizard Starfall, through just decades of research on the ’Fanciful Element’ (Spiritual Qi), surprisingly touched upon techniques considered great supernatural powers in the Cultivation Immortality Realm—enlightening living beings and awakening spiritual wisdom!
In the Cultivation Immortality Realm, such an ability is typically only wielded by those Immortals with profound cultivation and deep understanding of the laws of heaven and earth.
Even Jeming himself, possessing the vast knowledge of the Great Dao Book Pavilion, couldn’t guarantee mastering such techniques, involving the essence of life and the root of the soul, steadily at the Sixth Level Wizard rank.
He couldn’t help but once again sigh in his heart: the Wizard World’s group of truth-pursuing knowledge explorers are truly unmatched in research capability and in turning theory into practice!
The fact that Starfall achieved this in such a short time indicates her "expansion" and "deepening" in the laws of ’spirituality’ have reached an astounding height.
It’s feared... that Wizard Starfall is not far from advancing to Seventh Level Wizard!
While Jeming was inwardly shocked, Viola recalled a crucial issue.
She stared at Starfall with a tone tinged with disbelief: "So... after discovering this trait, you eagerly experimented on your plane’s ’stock’? What kind of species did you endow with intelligence?!"
Starfall nodded excitedly, like a child showing off her masterpiece: "To test the universality and limits of this ’spiritual wisdom ignition’ effect, I chose two dramatically different bases!"
"One is the ’Ironvine Demonic Vine’ that’s common in my garden, merely a plant with basic life responses! The other is the ’Radiant Aggregation’ formed by dissipated energy in the lab, essentially a cluster of high-concentration unconscious energy!"
She spread her hands, her face brimming with the joy of success: "And you saw the results! Both succeeded! They acquired basic intelligence, formed rudimentary societies, and even started waging war over resources and living space!"
"The data is perfect! I initially wanted to see if I could induce intelligence in ordinary soil or rock, but the experiment failed, and I’m out of fanciful element materials..."
Listening to her casually describe her experiment akin to "creation," Jeming and Viola exchanged glances, seeing a hint of fright in each other’s eyes, unable to stop a few beads of cold sweat from appearing on their foreheads.
Thankfully... thankfully, animating soil and rocks didn’t succeed.
If even stones could become sentient, when they teleported over earlier, they might have faced not just plants and clusters of light, but also a horde of stone men shouting "kill the flesh monsters!"
The research of this Wizard Starfall truly dances constantly on the edge of creating miracles and causing disaster.
