Chapter 443: Chapter 384: Anya
The dizziness from the interplane teleportation hadn’t completely worn off. Jeming and Viola had just set foot on solid ground, and before they even had a chance to take in their surroundings, a foul wind, accompanied by a piercing howl, came crashing down on them!
"Huh?!"
"Watch out!"
Both were battle-hardened veterans, though startled, they remained calm.
Almost at the same moment they sensed danger, Jeming’s fingers formed a sword, and a highly condensed space distortion force field was pushed upwards like an invisible barrier.
Viola was even quicker. Without even raising her head, she merely waved her hand upward, sending a shock wave imbued with her unique law power!
BOOM!!
A massive meteorite, over five meters in diameter and enveloped in scorching flames and earth element, was hit by the two forces simultaneously at a height less than ten meters above their heads. It instantly shattered into countless pieces of flying debris and sparks, resembling a brief meteor shower.
Only then did they have the opportunity to observe their surroundings.
They found themselves inside a building resembling a laboratory or observation station, but the dome of the building had been smashed open, leaving a gaping hole.
Through the hole, instead of the peaceful and serene sky they expected, they saw a chaotic battlefield interwoven with energy beams and bursting firelight.
Fortunately, the protective array engraved around the laboratory seemed to be still operating tenaciously, emitting a stable energy halo.
The meteorite earlier, even if they hadn’t reacted, would likely have been deflected or blocked by this protective force field.
"What the hell?!" Viola’s eyebrows shot up. She exchanged a glance with Jeming, and the two simultaneously blinked, flying out through the broken dome, hovering in mid-air.
Once outside, the scene before them left them slightly stunned.
Not far away, a constantly shifting ball of red, blue, and earthy tones, radiating violent elemental fluctuations, was engaged in fierce battle with a giant demon flower made of countless thick vines twisted together, its top blooming with psychic-polluting ripples.
The light ball fired lava rays and frost storms, while the demon flower wielded spiked vines and continuously spewed spore clouds that could corrode energy shields.
The aftermath of their battle plowed the surrounding ground into a mess.
And this, was merely a small glimpse of the vast battlefield.
Instinctively, Jeming deployed the "Eye of Scouting" along with various scouting witchcraft, and his vision rapidly expanded.
Within his perception, the continent they were on seemed plunged into all-out war!
On one side were light-state creatures of pure elemental energy in various forms, and on the other side were bizarre, activated plants seemingly imbued with mad life force.
Energy light cannons and exploding spores clashed, elemental cries and the snapping of plants entwined, creating a chaotic and brutal symphony.
The sudden arrival of Jeming and Viola, these "uninvited guests," was like a drop of cold water in a boiling oil pot, instantly attracting the attention of many "residents" on the nearby battlefield.
Immediately, several "Flame Walkers" composed of flickering firelight and a few "Howling Flytraps" with sharp teeth and lashing briars turned towards them, emitting unintelligible spiritual fluctuations and electromagnetic radiation, charging towards them!
Though they couldn’t comprehend the creatures’ exact language, Jeming clearly captured the intent being conveyed through spiritual perception:
[Light Elemental Creatures]: "Quick! Kill those two ugly, asymmetrical flesh monsters!"
[Activated Plants]: "Monsters! Those two rootless, leafless, monotonously colored flesh monsters are so ugly! Purify them!"
Jeming’s mouth twitched slightly, indifferent to such "insults" based on racial aesthetics.
But Viola beside him, upon clearly receiving the spiritual meaning of words like "ugly" and "monster," turned red with anger, her silver-gray hair seemingly ready to move without wind!
"Who are you calling ugly?!"
A maiden’s blush spoke louder than words; there was no need for Jeming to intervene. With Viola’s rage reaching its peak, she raised her hand and grasped the air towards the charging creatures!
There was no earth-shattering explosion, no dazzling elemental lights.
Yet the charging Flame Walkers and Howling Flytraps froze instantly!
Immediately afterwards, they let out screams far more tragic and painful than during their previous battles!
The flames on the Flame Walkers flickered, their forms twisted and dissolved, emitting a piercing electromagnetic screech.
The vines of the Howling Flytraps convulsed madly, their sharp teeth clashed open and shut, radiating waves of excruciating spiritual ripples.
More terrifyingly, this pain seemed to be contagious!
Further away, other elemental creatures and activated plants who initially intended to aid their companions suddenly fell from the sky or collapsed on the ground without warning, joining in a silent yet extremely harrowing symphony of wails!
For a moment, the direct combat within this area bizarrely came to a halt.
Elements and activated plants still with mobility acted as if they had encountered an exceedingly terrifying presence, frantically shouting with spiritual waves.
[Light Elemental Creatures]: "Beware! It’s the ugly flesh monsters spreading invisible pain! Quick, report back to the elders!"
"Animated Plants": "Terrifying! The ugly creatures are going to make us tie ourselves in knots! Run away! Go find the Mother of the Forest!"
They hurriedly retreated like a tide, leaving this area temporarily filled with "Pain" to Jeming and Viola.
Jeming raised his hand to release several Black Giant Priests, gesturing for them to control and gather the "captives" who were twitching on the ground, their forms on the brink of collapse, preparing for soul searching later for intelligence.
After completing all this, he turned his head to look at the still-angry Viola, with an oddly strange tone: "Senior Sister Viola, your friend’s...’ecological environment’ maintenance hobby is quite unique, isn’t it?"
Viola, having adjusted her mood by then, responded with a bewildered and innocent face, shaking her head vigorously: "It’s not me! Last time I was here, Starfall’s ’Hundred Flower Garden’ was a very beautiful, harmonious place! There were glowing gentle mushrooms everywhere, singing flowers, and cute little Elves! It was definitely not this apocalyptic scene!"
Jeming began to seriously question: "Senior Sister, are you sure you didn’t mess up the teleportation coordinates? Could we have accidentally invaded some unknown Plane currently in turmoil?"
"How could I mess up!" Viola jumped in anger, instinctively chopping Jeming’s head, producing a loud "thump."
Immediately, she also embraced her hand and inhaled sharply, with a painful expression — Jeming’s head, honed to perfection, had a hardness comparable to High Tier magical metal.
Seeing Viola’s reaction, Jeming rubbed his apparently unfeeling head, scratching it in confusion.
It seemed the coordinates were correct; this was indeed Viola’s friend’s Plane.
But the scene before them...
"Could it be that an invading biological army from another Plane launched an attack?" Jeming speculated.
As this thought flashed by, even he couldn’t help but inhale sharply, his eyes instantly exploding with an unmistakable brilliance!
Invasion?
For a Wizard with a private Plane, this... this was akin to rare Military Merits, rare materials, and research samples raining down from the sky?!
It was practically an epic feast!
However, Jeming also knew, such "falling pie from the sky" good fortune had a very low probability.
The urgent task was to figure out what exactly happened here.
As long as the Black Giant Priests brought the captives, searched their souls, the truth would emerge.
Yet before the Black Giant Priests returned, both Jeming and Viola suddenly became alert, perceiving a powerful life energy rapidly breaching their warning range!
The two instantly tensed, silently concentrating their energy.
But soon, they relaxed again.
Because although the energy was powerful, it wasn’t any of the chaotic creatures previously perceived, its energy structure stable and orderly, with clear Wizard characteristics.
Moreover, Jeming felt a faint sense of familiarity in this energy structure...
The next moment, a bright red light ignited the sky, like a meteor falling!
The red light rapidly approached, revealing its true form — a powerful Elemental Spirit shaped like a large Western Dragon, fully composed of pure Fire Elements!
It exuded a disheartening high temperature, vaporizing the moisture in the air wherever it passed.
This Fire Dragon Elemental Spirit landed with a thunderous roar, causing the ground to tremble slightly.
Once it landed, its immense body quickly compressed and solidified, transforming in the blink of an eye into a small dragon shape, only the size of a palm, as if carved from a delicate red ruby, gently hovering in mid-air.
Previously protected within its core elemental body, a figure became clear.
A petite young girl, with smooth silver hair like woven moonlight, and eyes as clear as mountain lakes.
Her strength contained a powerful affinity for life and nature.
Several small spirit bodies or Elemental Spirits of various forms, glowing softly, were happily flying and circling around her, forming a stark contrast with the surrounding scene of fiery flames and ruins.
Seeing this familiar face, Jeming instinctively blurted out:
"Anya?"
The newcomer was none other than one of the super geniuses with a Tenth Level Talent whom he’d briefly encountered during the elite trials at Nolun Workshop — Anya Starfall!
A girl skilled at summoning and controlling Elemental Spirit bodies and magical beasts, with an extraordinary perception and understanding of life and souls.
Viola also leaned in from the side, looking at Jeming, then at Anya, surprised: "Huh? You guys know each other?"
Jeming nodded: "Met a few times during the graduation trials."
Then he turned to Anya with more confusion: "But, Wizard Anya, how come you are here?"
Viola patted Jeming’s shoulder, her tone carrying a touch of "it’s a small world" sentiment: "Stop guessing, let me introduce you. Anya is actually my friend’s direct descendant, and now her primary assistant and student."
