Chapter 433: Chapter 376: Battle
Inside Anton Buchanan’s private plane, today was exceptionally tumultuous.
On the ground, an unending storm akin to a hurricane erupted, accompanied by energy turbulence from afar, signaling to all creatures in this plane that an aftermath from a biological battle was underway.
Helios, the Fifth Level Wizard, had pushed his energy form to the limit, now fully transformed into a humanoid blazing white sun.
He hovered in mid-air, and with every gesture, he stirred up a monstrous elemental tempest.
Meteor-like explosive fireballs, earth-rending chain lightning, soul-freezing icy rays... powerful area witchcraft spells descended as if costless, turning the lush grassland into a purgatory of intertwined lava, frost, and scorched earth.
His attacks weren’t entirely aimed at the Black Giants but were more to create chaos and suppress any potential movement paths of Jeming.
Meanwhile, another being, a bio-alchemist wizard named Morphis, had lost all human semblance, transforming into a horrifying shape.
His lower body turned into a cluster of thick tentacles covered with suckers and barbs, supporting the massive body to move swiftly, while the upper body extended several pairs of bone scythe arms with metallic sheen, and a constantly opening and closing maw spewed acid and neurotoxins.
His defensive and regenerative abilities were terrifying, with wounds being healed visibly fast.
Only the parts continuously covered by the temporal force field could have noticeably slower recovery.
Jeming stood on the battlefield’s edge, beads of sweat seeping from his forehead.
The Great Light Appearance hovered behind him, with tens of thousands of Talisman Witchcraft artifacts forming a rapidly spinning ring.
The barrage, like a golden rainstorm, desperately intercepted and weakened Helios’s large-area bombardment, providing covering fire for the charging Black Giant Priests.
Six Black Giant Priests, like six black bolts of lightning, attacked frantically around the two Fifth Level Wizards under the dual effects of time acceleration and enemy deceleration.
The liquid black metal on their bodies continuously absorbed energy attacks, and their temporal disorder ability made their movements fast enough to leave afterimages, heavy fists wrapped with space-ripping strength, pounding again and again against enemies’ shields and bodies.
Two of the Black Giant Priests were already seriously injured, with an arm severed at the shoulder, and black energy flowed like blood from the cut.
That was the price paid for blocking a tricky assault from Morphis for Jeming.
The entire combat area’s space seemed filled with an unseen cement, heavy and sticky.
This was the Space Anchoring Force Field set up at great cost by Helios and Morphis after realizing how daunting Jeming’s spatial ability was.
With the locked space, they completely blocked the chances of Jeming using phase shift or spatial slash for assault and evasion.
Jeming could only rely on the hyper-reaction from his Accelerating Talisman Witchcraft and the time manipulation of the Black Giant Priests to barely maneuver through the gaps in the Fifth Level Wizard’s attacks.
"I must take one down first!" Jeming’s heart was anxious.
The energy reserve of the Great Light Appearance was depleting rapidly; the Black Giant Priests, despite their bravery, were accumulating injuries and energy consumption under the joint counterattacks of the two Fifth Level Wizards.
He himself was like dancing on the knife’s edge, with Helios occasionally firing a concentrated solar flare or Morphis suddenly thrusting a paralyzing toxin-tipped spike from underground, forcing him to evade with all his might.
Even the shockwaves of the attacks had to be weathered by instantly layering dozens of Energy Shields from the Great Light Appearance.
If not for the formidable physical form and various adaptive resistances brought by the Body Refining Technique, he would have long been shaken into serious injuries by the battle’s shockwaves.
On the other side, the two Fifth Level Wizards were also in distress.
They were heavily wounded due to mutual antagonism and were just lucky not to fall victim to Jeming’s spatial slash.
But such dense attacks constantly worsened their injuries, forcing them to retreat continually.
Both understood that once the space lock duration ended, their defeat would follow.
Therefore, they must conclude the battle before the space lock is lifted!
Suddenly, due to the intense combat, Jeming’s Great Light Appearance overheated and faltered for a brief moment due to high-frequency releases.
"Now is the time!" Helios emitted a spirit roar.
The blazing sun he transformed into contracted inward, then exploded violently!
A pure destructive energy pulse radiated outward in a ring, instantly forcing some Black Giant Priests attacking him to be blasted away.
Even with the talent for absorbing energy, the momentary overload of energy impact caused the black liquid metal on their bodies to boil violently, clearly taking significant damage.
Almost simultaneously, Morphis seized this fleeting opportunity in perfect harmony.
His massive body, laden with tentacles and bone blades, with agility unbefitting its size, suddenly breached the slightly sparse barrage caused by the explosion.
Several thick tentacles, like battering rams with a piercing whoosh, directly targeted Jeming, who was highly concentrated in spiritual power due to controlling the Great Light Appearance and the Black Giants!
The tips of the tentacles shimmered with a glow breaking through Energy Defense, clearly his ace in the hole!
"I’ve been waiting for you to act out of desperation!" A fierce glint flashed in Jeming’s eyes, without the slightest panic.
At the critical moment, a towering figure over fifty meters tall, like a black mountain, suddenly appeared in front of Jeming, precisely one of the two Fifth Level Black Giant leaders!
The position of this Black Giant leader was perfectly aligned, just in the way of the deadly attack between Jeming and Morphis!
"Roar!!!"
The well-prepared Black Giant leader let out a thunderous roar.
It neither dodged nor evaded, allowing the tentacles, capable of tearing mountains, to savagely strike its pitch-black chest!
The robust form capable of withstanding Sixth Level attacks was instantly perforated like a sieve, spraying high-temperature "blood," but its massive body stood like the most faithful bulwark, unwavering!
And at the moment of impact, with the old force exhausted and new force yet ungenerated, Jeming delivered a cold and ruthless command through the Soul Contract—
Self-destruct!
Inside the colossal body of the Black Giant leader, it was as if a black sun had been ignited.
Within one hundredth of a second, the destructive Energy surged to its limit, and then...
BOOM!!!
An energy storm as terrifying as the previous explosion of Helios erupted fiercely, centered on the Black Giant leader!
The black destructive Energy, mixed with the shredded body, formed a shock ring that devoured everything, instantly swallowing the nearby Morpheus.
Then the shock wave rapidly expanded, sweeping away Helios, who had just released his ultimate attack and was in a brief state of recovery.
The space originally solidified by the Space Anchoring Force Field groaned under the cross-level impact of destructive Energy, becoming distorted and unstable.
Jeming, at the moment the command was issued, darted like a frightened rabbit to the back of a Black Giant Priest who happened to be blasted next to him.
This loyal priest immediately turned around, fully shielding Jeming under his body.
The black liquid metal on his body flowed, forming a defensive stance, forcibly withstanding the core shock wave of the self-destruction.
Even so, the terrifying force together flung them away, smashing a small hill in the distance.
The aftermath of the explosion had not yet completely settled, and the soaring dust and chaotic Energy currents continued to wreak havoc.
"Cough, cough..."
Jeming crawled out from under the Black Giant Priest, coughing out a few mouthfuls of dusty saliva, though his eyes were sharp like an eagle’s.
He didn’t bother to confirm the results of the battle, as he could clearly sense the positions of the Black Giant Priests who were blasted away through the Soul Contract.
Without hesitation, he immediately issued the final command to all the surviving Black Giant Priests, including the one protecting him:
Charge! Approach the survivors! Self-destruct!
In the next moment, several black shadows charged into the lingering dust of destructive Energy like moths to flame, without a trace of hesitation.
Guided by sensing the Energy waves emitted by two Fifth Level Wizards, they charged toward the probable positions of those two Fifth Level Wizards.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
Four successive, even louder and more destructive explosions echoed in the dust.
Meanwhile, Jeming himself, after issuing the commands, didn’t even glance at the explosion site, but lay flat on the ground.
His hands shone with the light of Alchemy, and, like a groundhog burrowing, he frantically dug into the earth beneath him, instantly creating a tunnel thousands of meters deep.
He dove straight in, avoiding the secondary shock and Energy backlash that might be triggered by the chain self-destruction.
Moments later, everything finally calmed down.
Jeming cautiously poked his head out from the still-smoking scorched earth.
The scene before him was apocalyptic—a giant crater, over several kilometers in diameter, had replaced the original landscape, surrounded by glassified soil and twisted spatial remnants.
Following the Soul sensing, he quickly found the Energy Crystal Cores of the Black Giant Priests and leader who survived the self-destruction and retrieved them.
Then, he saw two figures in the center of the crater, barely maintaining their forms.
Morpheus’s proudly modified biological body was now battered and torn, most of the tentacles blown off, Bone Blades shattered.
The core area had a huge hollow, struggling to repair itself but at an extremely slow pace, and the breath was incredibly weak.
Helios’s energy incarnate body also became dull and dim, like a candle flickering in the wind, unsteady.
Clearly heavily damaged in the chain self-destructions, even maintaining a stable energy form seemed somewhat labored.
Seeing these two Fifth Level Wizards only "severely injured" under such terrifying chain self-destructions, Jeming couldn’t help but grit his teeth, feeling a sudden toothache.
"Really... tough and resilient!" he cursed in his heart.
As levels increase, a wizard’s Life Energy is increasingly "inhuman."
At the bottom of the pit, Morpheus and Helios also saw Jeming poking his head out, and exchanged glances, seeing helplessness and bitterness in each other’s eyes.
They struggled, almost simultaneously opening their mouths, their voices weak but clear: "We... admit defeat."
As soon as they spoke, the next instant, their figures abruptly vanished from the crater, as if they had never appeared.
Jeming watched this scene, his pupils contracting.
"Is this the power of an Eighth Level Wizard..." he murmured softly.
Even though the surrounding Space Anchoring Force Field still existed, the space remained in a state of blockage.
Yet the Nolun Wizard could so lightly, silently teleport people away.
Completely unable to understand how they accomplished it, yet Jeming knew well this meant that ordinary spatial blockade was entirely meaningless before an Eighth Level Wizard.
Jeming quickly stopped fretting over these matters; he patted the dust and ashes off his Wizard Robe, looked at the sky, cleared by the shock wave, and sighed helplessly.
Though victorious, the losses were severe, and the Black Giant Legion within his space was almost crippled.
He took a deep breath of the air with a scorched odor, raised his head, and his gaze swept across the seemingly empty scorched earth, twisted hills, and lingering Energy currents.
Suddenly, Jeming spoke loudly, his voice echoing above the silent ruins:
"Come out. You’ve been watching the show for long enough; you should reveal yourselves now."
