Chapter 319 - Let's Go In and Take a Look.
A bright red heart fell from the woman’s hand onto the ground.
The moment they saw the woman’s face, the group was stunned.
This woman was breathtakingly beautiful—the most beautiful they had ever seen in their lives, without exception.
But soon, they snapped out of their daze and looked at the woman with extreme vigilance.
“May I ask who you are?”
Their tone was respectful, without a trace of vulgarity.
In the world of cultivation, this was the norm. They could tell that the woman before them was immensely powerful, and they had no desire to provoke her unnecessarily.
As for avenging their fallen companion?
Heh.
That was laughable. He was dead, and they couldn’t care less. In fact, his death was somewhat of a relief—it meant fewer people to share the spoils with. They could even divide up his possessions amongst themselves.
The woman, however, didn’t respond. Instead, she began walking toward them step by step.
Her delicate, fair feet seemed to glide across the ground rather than tread upon it.
Suddenly, they noticed something crucial: the woman wasn’t walking; she was floating.
The leader of the group hurled a fireball at her.
Under the flickering light of the flames, shadows stretched across the ground. But the woman had no shadow.
The fireball passed straight through her body.
“A ghost cultivator?”
The realization dawned on them.
In this world, there were ordinary cultivators, demon cultivators, and ghost cultivators.
Ghost cultivators were typically the remnants of human or demon cultivators whose physical bodies had been destroyed. Unwilling to reincarnate, they lingered in the mortal world to cultivate their souls.
However, ghost cultivation had significant limitations, and its potential was low. Reaching the Nascent Soul stage was already rare for ghost cultivators, let alone ascending to immortality.
But why was there a ghost cultivator here?
The woman in the red dress didn’t give them much time to ponder.
In a flash of red, another man’s heart was ripped from his chest by the woman.
“She’s just a ghost cultivator! Kill her with lightning techniques!” the leader shouted.
The remaining man steadied his mind and summoned his lightning techniques, even pulling out all his lightning talismans and hurling them at her.
But the lightning attacks had no effect on her at all!
“How is this possible?”
They began to doubt whether she was even a ghost.
By all accounts, lightning techniques were supposed to be a natural counter to ghost cultivators. Even if she were at the Nascent Soul stage, she couldn’t have emerged unscathed.
Yet here she was, completely unharmed by their attacks. It was absurd!
In the next moment, the “ghost cultivator” appeared before another man.
“Pfft!”
He spat out a mouthful of blood and collapsed to the ground without even a chance to resist.
Before he could react further, the woman casually reached out, pulled out his heart as easily as retrieving something from a pouch, gave it a glance, and discarded it onto the ground.
“Damn it!”
The leader cursed and turned to flee in the opposite direction.
He was certain he couldn’t defeat this entity. This ghost cultivator—or whatever it was—was far beyond his comprehension. Survival was all that mattered now.
As for the treasures near the corpses? Forget them. His life came first.
Half an incense stick later, the man glanced over his shoulder and, seeing no trace of the woman, finally breathed a sigh of relief.
“Damn it, what the hell did I just run into?” The man felt extremely unlucky.
He had only been in the Samadhi Cave for less than half an hour. His original plan was to rob others inside the cave, and the pair of senior and junior disciples he encountered were the first people he had come across.
Everything was going smoothly until that inexplicable woman appeared out of nowhere.
Thankfully, he managed to escape with his life and didn’t lose anything valuable.
Just as he thought he had gotten far enough away, the further he walked, the stronger the scent of blood became.
The man felt an eerie sense of familiarity with his surroundings.
It felt as though he had been here before.
But how was that possible? He was certain he had taken a different path.
“Plop!”
Suddenly, the man stopped dead in his tracks.
His eyes flickered nervously.
In front of him were four corpses, and standing among them was the woman in the red dress.
The red-dressed woman slowly turned around, her gaze landing on him.
“This… How… How is this possible?!”
His heart pounded wildly as he spun around and started running back the way he came.
As he ran, he kept glancing over his shoulder to see if the woman was chasing him.
But she didn’t move. She simply stood there, watching him with her crimson eyes, devoid of any emotion.
Just as the man thought he had finally escaped, he realized he had ended up back where he started!
Panicking, he chose a different path and kept running. But before long, he found himself back at the same spot once again.
“AAAAHHH!!!”
The man, on the verge of a breakdown, raised his sword and charged at her.
The red-dressed woman took a step forward, her figure flashing past him.
The man collapsed to the ground, blood pouring from his chest.
In her hand was his still-beating heart.
She casually tossed the heart onto the ground and began walking toward Hu Sheng.
“No! Don’t come any closer! Don’t come any closer!”
Hu Sheng slumped to the ground, trembling.
This wasn’t the first time Hu Sheng had seen this woman.
She had encountered her once before.
Back then, the woman had killed several people before vanishing.
Everyone who had seen her either ended up dead or abandoned their greed for robbery, focusing solely on escaping.
The red-dressed woman looked at Hu Sheng, then suddenly smiled.
Her smile was stunning—so beautiful that Hu Sheng was momentarily dazed. She had never imagined she could smile like this.
“If I see you again, I’ll kill you~”
With those words, her figure dissolved into thin air, leaving Hu Sheng leaning against the rock wall, surrounded by lifeless bodies.

Meanwhile, Xu Ming and Shi Xin arrived at the entrance of a cave.
Xu Ming took out a map and studied it.
“Hmm, this should be the Samadhi Cave,” Xu Ming said.
Shi Xin shook her head. “I’ve never heard of this place.”
Xu Ming chuckled. “It’s a den of thieves. Legend has it that the Samadhi Cave contains the greatest treasure in the entire Rootless Secret Realm. But no one has ever actually seen it. Why don’t we go take a look?”
Shi Xin nodded. “Wherever you go, this humble monk will follow.”
“Can you not say things like that?” Xu Ming sighed.
Shi Xin tilted her head. “Why not?”
“Because it makes it sound like we’re eloping,” Xu Ming replied, exasperated.
With a sigh, he walked toward the cave.
“Come on, let’s check it out.”
