Chapter 1063: Chapter 549: Extra: Claud Laurence’s Demands 2

Before Keith Antony could respond, Alice Robinson had already hung up.

Her body slowly leaned against the back of the chair, a faint pain creeping over her heart.

She took a deep breath to alleviate the ache and picked up the phone to dial a series of numbers.

"Uncle Grant, how is the vineyard doing now? Do we have any options?"

Uncle Grant sighed on the other end, exhausted, "Alice, I’m afraid we won’t last past this week... Many employees heard that the vineyard might not continue operating, and they’ve started slacking, even demanding wages."

"I understand, Uncle Grant. I’ll think of something."

"Alright, I’ll keep an eye on these few vineyards for you and make sure to delay as long as possible."

"Thank you, Uncle Grant."

After ending the conversation with the elder, Alice Robinson sat in the chair and contemplated for a while, finally picking up the phone.

She called the female supervisor from her workplace.

Alice tried everything, from her supervisor to the hotel’s manager, then from the manager to the general manager, and finally learned that Claud Laurence was in Paris.

Earlier, she heard Claud came to Paris to inspect hotel operations, so Alice checked all five-star hotels in Paris...

And eventually, she narrowed it down to one hotel.

She remembered when she first started working at the hotel, her supervisor casually mentioned that their president liked golf and usually stayed at hotels with golf courses. Yet this time, he unexpectedly stayed at their hotel.

She hadn’t expected to remember her supervisor’s words...

In Paris, the only five-star hotel with a dedicated golf course is the "Yorna" Hotel, situated in the bustling heart of the city with the largest golf course.

Alice went to the hotel early in the morning, booked a room, and changed into sports attire to visit the golf course.

Her golf skills were taught by Chester Robinson, so she wasn’t bad at the game; she often practiced with her father and Chester.

At 8 AM, she saw a silver-gray Lincoln enter the parking lot.

The last time he drove her back, she remembered his car.

Her heart was pounding as she watched the assistant get out from the driver’s seat and open the back door for him.

She intended to approach but saw a graceful woman get out of the car with him.

She hadn’t expected him to have a female companion, but from their not-so-intimate behavior, they likely weren’t a couple.

She forced herself to walk up, "General Laurence."

Claud Laurence seemed slightly surprised by her appearance, raising an eyebrow, his expression somewhat indifferent. Yet, being always gentlemanly and courteous, he smiled at her, "Miss Robinson, here to play golf too?"

After speaking, Claud Laurence prepared to head off with the woman to play golf, but Alice swiftly approached him, "General Laurence, I’d like to talk to you."

Claud Laurence shrugged, furrowing his brow slightly, "You should see that I don’t have time now."

Alice gazed straight into Claud’s eyes, "I’ll only take five minutes of your time."

Claud Laurence chuckled and told the woman beside him, "You go ahead and order breakfast; I’ll be right there."

Alice bit her lip, struggling with her words, "General Laurence, you’re a businessman; you should know, our Robinson wine estate has a hundred-year history, with impeccable credibility and market standing. The current predicament is due to my father passing away and my brother and I managing poorly... If you’re willing to help the Robinson family by injecting capital into the vineyard to maintain operations, I can promise to provide thirty percent of all wines to your hotels for free after the vineyard starts profiting... What do you think?"

Claud Laurence merely chuckled again, "I do indeed need a family like the Robinsons with a century-old vineyard to provide me with the best quality wine. The conditions you’ve offered are certainly tempting, but the last time we had dinner, our interaction wasn’t very pleasant, which made me lose interest in investing in the Robinson vineyard."

"General Laurence, I was impolite last time. If you’re willing, I’d like to apologize to you."

Claud Laurence glanced at his wristwatch, "Miss Robinson, sorry, I don’t want my friend to wait too long..."

"General Laurence..."

Claud Laurence interrupted Alice, "Miss Robinson, I sympathize with your family’s current situation, but I’m not a charitable savior; I only like doing things that interest me."
