Chapter 176: The Softest Weapon

Rainbows earn their brightest colors in the storm.

The thief had turned into a woman.

While speaking that Zane’s trail hadn’t ended.

The golden hair remained the same and all the eyes were glued to her.

Even females couldn’t take their gazes off the thief.

Zane Atlas won’t be able to resist this. I am not sure why I chose to be a man in the first place. It doesn’t matter.

The thief was ready to meet Zane again.

———

In Xaveir’s basement.

Zane made his entry and the first thing he met was his sister.

Milo came running towards him.

She hugged him.

"I was worried." She said.

Zane patted her head.

"Don’t be. Nothing will happen to me."

They came to the center of the basement and Zane locked eyes with everyone present.

"People," he said. "I brought weapons for you all. Take whatever you like. No fighting. Make yourselves accustomed to them."

Everyone nodded.

Zane turned to Draxus and the man dumped all the weapons Hena brought in the middle of the floor.

People flocked over them.

"Can I also have one?" Milo asked.

Zane laughed. "You already have two of them."

"Two? I don’t have any weapons."

Zane pointed to himself. "One is me and the second is..."

He leaned towards Milo and pinched her nose.

"Your cuteness."

Milo laughed and Zane turned to Hena once more.

He shoved his hand inside his ring and took out something.

A paper.

But it wasn’t a normal paper.

Hena saw it and her hands instantly moved to grab it.

Zane let her take it as that belonged to her in the first place.

That was the photograph of her father.

Zane had taken it with him in her house as he knew the Warden would check her ring and he shouldn’t find the photo of the former fourth crown.

She stared at the photo for a few good seconds and kept it inside her ring again.

Zane then looked at Xavier.

"I want to take a bath. The Emberlord’s healing had lightened the blood stains on my face and body but they are still there."

"You should have taken a bath a long time ago."

"I didn’t want to use someone else’s bathroom."

"Come on. It’s your house."

Xavier smiled and Zane ended up smiling as well.

"I want to take a bath too. My clothes are dirty." Milo spoke and before anyone could answer...

THUMP!

Zane slammed his head on the wall.

All eyes widened.

People stopped choosing weapons and Xavier watched Zane as if he saw the most random man.

"What the hell was that?" He asked.

"What are you doing, brother?" Milo came running towards Zane.

But before she could run more, Zane turned to her.

"I am the idiotest brother in the world."

"That’s not a word." Hena said.

Zane ignored her and held Milo’s hand.

"I have asked for clothes from the Emberlord. He gave them to me. I even took out your clothes. But I stored them back inside and forgot to give them to you. I wore mine but forgot about yours. Forgive me."

Zane pressed her small hands on his forehead and shed tears.

Milo smiled.

"It’s fine, brother. I would have worn them after bathing anyway. Now is the perfect time."

Zane looked up.

Her bright smile melted his heart as he stood up.

"Alright. To repent for my sin, you will have a bath before me. Take as much time as you want inside the bathroom."

"Yay!"

Milo cheered and the kid managed to make everyone smile.

"But I don’t know how to take a bath in someone else’s bathroom."

"Huh? You literally caught a cold because you played with water too much in the bathroom of the Cathedral."

"That was a mistake. I was just moving the taps left and right."

Zane sighed.

"I can’t help you taking a bath, Milo. That will be wrong."

Zane ran his mind but in an instant, it was solved.

"She can go with me. I would also like a shower right now." Hena spoke.

Milo’s eyes lit up.

"Yesh."

She went to Hena and held her finger.

Hena looked left and right but in the end, she gave in to the softness.

Milo might be the first warm thing she felt after blood.

A smile formed on Hena’s lips and Zane shrugged.

"Sure. But don’t use too much water on her. Her immune system isn’t the best."

Hena gave a nod.

"Let’s go, my lady." Draxus was behind Hena.

Hena glared at him.

Draxus flinched. "I will stay outside the bathroom of course."

Milo raised her finger at Draxus. "Pervert."

Draxus turned pale.

"I... pervert?"

He fell to his knees and both girls left the basement.

Zane, Xavier and Jammy remained behind Draxus, no one wanting to help the man.

But then, one brave set of footsteps came towards the bodyguard.

Tesla Jacardi.

He flaunted his long coat and sat beside Draxus.

"Don’t worry, brave friend." He held Draxus’ shoulder.

"We are what we are."

A vein popped on Draxus’ forehead.

"I am not a pervert. I was going with her for her safety!"

Tesla nodded. "Yes. Yes. I believe you. But do you know I have glasses that can see through walls. Do you want them? You can keep an eye on anyone with their help."

Draxus jerked his head at the handsome merchant.

"Yes. I want them."

Tesla narrowed his eyes. "See? You are a pervert."

"What?"

"There are no such glasses. I was just testing your intentions. And I am not proud of the results."

Tesla stood up, shaking his head.

"Wait. I wanted them to protect my lady more efficiently. I am not a pervert!"

"Too late."

"Die then."

Draxus and Tesla began fighting.

"Alllright." Zane turned to Xavier.

So we are ignoring them. Fair. Xavier thought and didn’t mention them as he turned to Zane as well.

"What is that weapon of yours?" Zane asked.

Xavier’s eyes passed a glint.

He showed the thick metal chain.

"Haha. Behold, my friend. On one end of the chain is a sickle and on the other end of the chain is a hammer. I named it..."

Xavier waved it in the air with almost perfect repetition and while playing, he revealed the name he chose for it.

"Death In Hellven."
