Chapter 153: Hatred In A Polite Voice
If you can’t go back to your mother’s womb, you’d better learn to be a good fighter.
Zane wanted something else along with Hena’s money.
He wanted to learn how to fight.
His Merged Skill and his system were useless in some places.
He couldn’t depend on them at all times.
He needed to learn how to defend himself.
He was alive till now only because of his twisted luck.
At his request, Hena agreed rather easily.
And only after she agreed, did Zane said:
"I accept."
He accepted Hena’s demands and along with her demands, he accepted something else too.
[ Mythical Quest Accepted! ]
The Mythical Quest.
Zane now had to help Hena in her purpose officially.
In under two years at that.
But right now, his hand was extended towards Hena and the girl, with a smile, shook it.
Zane admired the softness and it was his first time a girl other than Milo touched him.
Well, one of the women in Cinder Row did kiss him on the cheek but Zane was uncomfortable at that time.
Now he was conscious and it was a girl of his age. Beautiful, if he could say so.
However, forgetting the thoughts Zane found a reason to smile because Hena didn’t appear as cold as ever.
She cried, smiled and laughed.
All because she opened up.
Zane’s rage brought out her emotions as to defend her father, she didn’t hold back anything.
They had also removed their scarves when things got heated as it hung around their necks.
But Zane was glad the scarves came off as he wouldn’t have been able to see Hena’s passionate face for her belief.
"... You can leave it now." Hena spoke.
Zane twitched.
Her voice brought him back and when he saw he still held Hena’s hand, he instantly let go of it.
He apologized.
Explained he didn’t have any bad intentions.
But Hena shook her head.
"Don’t worry. I know perverts when I see one."
She looked at Xavier.
Xavier squinted his eyes.
"Why did you look at me while saying that?"
"I didn’t." Hena refused and everyone laughed again.
Amidst the laughter, Draxus left the corner of the room and came in front of Zane.
"I am sorry." He said.
No drama.
Straight to the point.
Zane waved his hand.
"No problem. You stood up for her. A man should be like that. I would have been disappointed if you hadn’t choked me."
Zane patted Draxus’ shoulder and Draxus smiled as well.
The gutterborn had understood the intentions of both Hena and Draxus and he had a heart that could not be angry at someone who also had a heart.
Turning around, Zane walked to the horde of the coins.
Everyone else followed him.
They stood in a circle with the one thousand gold lumens in the middle.
Zane stared at it and remained silent.
No one said anything as Zane was the leader and it would be his decision on how to spend the money.
The money might belong to Hena but after their deal, Zane was the owner now.
"I have promised to send some money to the Cinder Row people. They are waiting for me. There is a Warden who also wants sixty percent of this. For better or for worse, I have a plan."
All eyes focused on Zane and the gutterborn shared his plan.
They heard him attentively and in just three minutes, he was finished explaining.
"It depends on luck, kid." Jammy said.
Zane shrugged. "If things turned to worse, then Draxus could simply run away with us."
"What?" Draxus barked. "Who do you think I am? A four hand monster? I can’t run away with two men and one old man with me. I can only take two people with me. My lady is one and the other you can decide yourselves."
"Can’t you just drop us one by one?" Xavier asked. "Like first take Hena and Zane, then come back and take me and Jammy. Problem solved."
"Problem solved, my ass." Draxus rebuked. "I don’t run on oil, big brain. I don’t have that kind of stamina. I have already exhausted some of it by taking your best friend to the Cathedral."
Zane let out a tired sigh.
"We will figure something out. Let’s get out of here first."
Everyone agreed and Zane began the plan.
After two minutes, Zane finished the work.
The others were done too.
All of them walked towards the door and Hena with one last look at her room, joined them as well.
They climbed down the stairs.
Draxus reminded Hena to take the keys of the house and she did.
Though, Zane told her to not take the keys as it was a bad idea.
Hena’s house was full of money and if she lost her keys then the money might be stolen.
Zane could open the door of her house anyway so there was no need for keys.
But Hena didn’t agree with him.
If Hena could lose her keys, then Zane could also lose his ring from which he opened the door.
After all, he lost the original relic. The ring was nothing in front of that.
She also said if someone else wanted to open her house and Zane wasn’t available then that would pose problems.
So it was better for her to take the keys and keep them safe.
Therefore, she gave them to Draxus.
After a few more seconds, they reached the door of the house and Zane arrived in the front.
They covered their faces with the scarves once more and without any second thought, the gutterborn opened the door and stepped out of Hena’s mansion.
The others followed him but as if waiting for the door opening sound...
"You finally came."
The Warden arrived in front of them.
Zane was ready for it.
"Yes. And this is your share."
Zane showed his palm to Hena.
And Hena took out a leather pouch from her Flame Ring and placed it on Zane’s palm.
The pouch was small, it didn’t make a sound that should come out of a pouch filled with money.
Zane gave the pouch to the Warden and feeling its weight, the Warden instantly opened it and peeked inside.
And as he did, his nose flared.
He shot a glare at Zane.
"What kind of joke is this?!"
Zane bowed.
"I am sorry but we should have known."
"Known what?" The warden yelled.
Zane didn’t raise his head and in his best hateful voice, he uttered through his gritted teeth:
"That traitor bitch had no money at all."
