Nobody can be as agreeable as an uninvited guest.
But the guests at Xavier's house were not agreeable at all.
Though, they weren't uninvited either.
However, Xavier regretted that.
Right now, one of the guests named Jammy was holding a couple by their necks.
The woman on his right and the man on his left.
His explanation was:
"I found them in the bedroom. They were cuddling."
Zane and Xavier saw the couple and as soon as they did, their eyes widened.
Xavier looked at Zane.
Zane gulped.
Xavier smiled.
He pointed his finger at Jammy.
"Can I kill him?"
Xavier didn't even wait for Zane's answer and ran towards Jammy.
Zane held him from behind.
"Wait. It's a misunderstanding. I will deal with it. No fighting."
"I will kill him!"
Jammy frowned.
"What is wrong with you? I helped you find perverts in your home and this is how you are treating me?"
Zane snapped.
"They are not perverts. They are the parents of his friends. Leave them alone. Let them go."
"Oh."
THUD!
Jammy let them go.
They fell on the floor.
"My bad." He said and went outside the house.
Xavier gritted his teeth and Zane kept holding the man.
He wouldn't like his people fighting with each other. That would only weaken his goal.
At most, the fight should only happen with curses and insults.
"Let me go!" Xavier shouted.
Zane didn't move. "No. I don't want a fight."
"I won't fight."
"Your body is saying otherwise."
Zane sensed the anger in Xavier.
Xavier clenched his fists.
He could easily throw Zane aside and run after Jammy but he won't raise his hand at him.
Zane was his friend.
An important one.
A kind one.
A brave one.
So instead of violence, he took a deep breath and calmed himself down.
"Alright. I am fine. Let me go."
"You sure?"
"Yes. I will only talk to uncle and aunty. They are afraid right now."
Zane stayed silent.
He looked at Xavier's fists and jaw, tried to sense his feelings and only after he was sure of it, he let the man go.
Xavier was free again.
But Zane wasn't done.
He remained vigilant even after leaving Xavier, in case the man took off again.
Fortunately, Xavier didn't dash.
He simply walked towards the parents of his late childhood friends.
"Who are all these people, son?" The man said.
He had a moustache and tired eyes.
Xavier sighed.
"They are my… friends. They are only here for a while, don't worry. You can go back to the bedroom."
"They are your friends?"
The woman's eyes lit up.
She looked at Zane.
She walked towards him.
Zane looked left and right and then the woman held his hands.
She had kind eyes.
She was short, had white hair and plump hands.
"Are you Liberi's friend?"
Zane nodded. "Yes. I am."
The woman beamed.
"Thank you so much. The poor boy stopped making friends after Romero."
The woman's eyes teared up and Zane smiled.
"Liberi is a good man. Idiot, yes. But good. If not me, someone else would be his friend."
The woman wiped her tears and let Zane's hand go.
"Alright." She looked at Xavier. "I will make something for your friends. How many are there?"
She rolled her sleeves and Xavier scratched his head.
"One thousand."
The woman's sleeves came down.
"... We will order something from outside."
Zane laughed.
Seeing him, the others laughed too.
Xavier held the woman's hand.
"Rest in the room. We will call you if we need something. Alright?"
"As you say. Oh my?"
The woman's eyes fell on Hena.
"Is this your girlfriend?"
"No way!" Draxus barked.
Hena's face remained unchanged.
"You should go now. Really." Xavier said and the woman climbed the stairs laughing.
Her husband followed her and they closed the door of the bedroom after reaching.
"Are they the ones whom you invited to your house before it burned?" Zane asked.
Xavier nodded.
"Yes. They love me like real parents."
"I saw that. They didn't even care about the broken house."
"That's why I want to kill Jammy."
"Wait. Don't do that. He didn't know. He thought they were one of the people who followed me from the Cathedral."
Xavier shook his head.
His anger wouldn't fade like that but he had to give the Janitor the benefit of doubt.
The man didn't know about the couple.
"Fine. I forgive him. But only this time."
"That works."
"Now what?"
Zane looked around.
Xavier's house was in shambles.
Zane wasn't even able to look at it when it was in proper condition. Heck, if anything he started the wreckage. The broken door told the tales of that.
But that was in the past.
He had to move forward now.
More than half of his people were standing outside Xavier's house and as Zane looked around, he saw some unfamiliar faces as well.
"Handle your neighbours first. And then all of us need to be moved in a space where everyone can see me and hear me. But no one outside from our mission should be able to hear us."
"Yes. You rest here."
Xavier walked forward.
He stopped.
He looked at the broken door and fallen wall, not sure from where he should leave his house.
But in the end, he chose the wall.
It wasn't everyday where he would get to leave the house from the wall.
Zane found a normal chair to sit and then his eyes found Milo.
"Come here." He said.
She was busy with Tesla.
She came running to her brother and sat on his lap.
"I saw you vomit, brother. Are you fine?"
Zane placed his finger on his lips.
"Shh. Don't tell anyone about it. Xavier uncle will be angry."
"Uncle?" Milo tilted her head. "He is not uncle. He is like you."
Zane laughed. "But you call Tesla an uncle. So I thought you would do the same for Xavier."
"But Tesla uncle is an uncle. I just feel it."
Zane ruffled Milo's hair.
Only children could understand their way of thinking.
But now that Milo was here and the topic of Tesla was in the air…
"Why do you laugh with him so much? What does he say in your ears?"
