Chapter 750: Face Slapping [Golden Gachapon Bonus Chapter]
Arriving at the lower floors, the group simply walked forward with everyone staring at either Asher or Ryaen according to their own sexual preferences. But as usual, the both of them simply ignored every single glance sent their way. Of course, some people were daring enough to approach them and ask for their phone numbers, which Asher and Ryaen politely declined without hesitation.
A few people also stared at Finch, but not because he matched Asher and Ryaen in terms of charm or beauty, but simply because he was... fat. While the people of the Zarethorne Empire might already be used to his unusual physique, the citizens of the Thalvorn Empire certainly weren’t. Finch’s lips could only twitch helplessly as he walked while William struggled desperately to hold back his laughter.
"What else are we buying?" Ryaen asked as she walked elegantly with her hands hidden within the enormous sleeves of her robe.
"Isn’t it obvious? We’re getting phones and laptops next," Asher replied with a smile.
Thanks to FatelessPen, he didn’t need to waste time explaining what phones and laptops actually were to the others.
’I wonder how good a few companies’ firewalls are,’ Asher thought inwardly with an evil smirk tugging at his lips. Back on Earth, with his absurd intelligence and IQ, hacking had merely been one of the many side hobbies he had casually learned.
After all, who wouldn’t be tempted to learn hacking after watching a few badass movies?
But first, Asher actually needed to own a laptop and phone before testing anything. Crymora might very well operate on an entirely different technological system or programming foundation altogether, meaning his dreams of hacking corporations and companies here might remain nothing more than fantasies.
"Hey, Asher, can I ask how you got your hands on such an outrageous amount of platinum coins?" Finch suddenly asked, his voice low.
He had essentially voiced the question lingering within everyone’s minds. After all, what kind of parent casually handed their child such ridiculous amounts of money?
"My Father, obviously. Who else?" Asher replied casually without even turning around to look at them.
Finch and William immediately shook their heads. If they spent even half the amount Asher had casually used earlier, their families might genuinely go bankrupt for an entire year or two.
"The Duke must truly be generous," Vaelric commented honestly. Truthfully speaking, he had never viewed Azaron as the type of person who would casually hand out such astronomical wealth. Every single time Vaelric had seen the man, Azaron always possessed the exact same stone-carved expressionless face.
"Even my Father can’t give me such outrageous amounts," Ryaen admitted while lightly shaking her head, her words completely truthful.
"Just forget about it, I’m sure if you guys asked properly, your families would give it to you too," Asher replied dismissively.
Eventually, they arrived at a floor dedicated entirely to gadgets and technology. Asher looked around curiously for several moments, but naturally, he recognized absolutely none of the brands around him. Because of that, he simply approached various store staff members and directly asked them to show him the best phones and laptops they currently had available.
Several minutes passed as the staff enthusiastically introduced each laptop and phone model while explaining their prices, features, specifications, and technological advantages. In the end, Asher simply decided to purchase the absolute best of everything available without bothering to calculate anything. Naturally, he paid in cash once again.
"Help us set everything up," Asher instructed while staring calmly at the staff member, who immediately nodded professionally.
"I’ll be needing your ID cards for SIM card registration, fingerprints, iris scans," the staff member continued listing requirement after requirement.
"We don’t have IDs. Can’t the phones and laptops work without them?" Asher asked in slight confusion.
"They cannot," the staff member replied calmly.
Asher and the others naturally didn’t possess official Thalvorn Empire ID cards, so Asher simply gazed around casually for a moment before silently making fifty platinum coins appear directly upon the staff member’s lap.
Of course, cameras were scattered all around the store, but there was no possible way they could detect what Asher had just done through the system itself. After all, he hadn’t even physically moved.
The staff member stared silently at Asher for several moments before immediately getting to work without asking any further questions.
No matter what world or Empire one existed within, money remained king.
And with enough money, Asher simply bribed his way through the issue effortlessly. As for exactly how the staff member intended to make the gadgets work without proper identification, that honestly had nothing to do with him anymore.
Within only a few minutes, everything had already been completely set up and prepared. With that done, Asher, William, and the others rose to their feet and left the store.
Asher was already casually operating his phone with complete ease while the others were still struggling to properly figure out how everything worked.
Naturally, Asher ended up helping them, showing them how to make calls, send messages, navigate applications, and perform other simple functions. Of course, everything was tested on the spot immediately afterward, leaving Vaelric and the others visibly amazed.
Asher instantly dove into the internet itself, researching every type of social media application that existed within the Thalvorn Empire. Without hesitation, he downloaded every single one he found interesting.
But before they could continue further, their movements abruptly halted as they noticed a young man around their age walking directly toward them. Three guards followed closely behind him, each clad in heavy armour.
The boy acknowledged only Ryaen while completely ignoring everyone else present as though they didn’t even exist in the first place.
"Might I know your name, beautiful miss?" he asked politely like a perfect gentleman while extending his palm outward toward her as though requesting to kiss her hand.
Ryaen calmly stared at the boy standing before her. Although she had already rejected countless people earlier, this one was clearly some Young Master from a powerful family. With her heightened senses, she could already detect the faint lingering scent of alcohol escaping his breath, the smell of cigarettes clinging to his clothing, and even the hickeys visible around both sides of his neck.
Clearly, the boy had most likely just returned from some brothel or pleasure house, yet he was already approaching another woman shamelessly.
Just as Asher despised stupidity, Ryaen deeply disliked men who viewed every woman they encountered as nothing more than toys for pleasure, and the boy before her clearly fit that description perfectly.
With her intelligence, Ryaen could already tell that even if she calmly and respectfully rejected him like she had done with the others earlier, he most likely wouldn’t back down. Since she didn’t want to create a public scene or unnecessary trouble, she decided to try another method instead.
Locking her arm together with Asher’s, she smiled calmly before speaking, "I’m sorry to disappoint you, but I already have a man," she stated gently while leaning slightly closer toward Asher.
Unfortunately, her smile only seemed to make the boy desire her even more intensely, his eyes immediately shifted toward Asher.
"Break up with her and leave my sight," he stated arrogantly, his tone authoritative as though he were speaking to someone beneath him entirely.
Asher was genuinely speechless for a moment.
First, he had been stunned when Ryaen suddenly linked arms with him without warning. Now, he was equally stunned that this idiot was actually speaking to him in such a manner.
Ironically, Asher had secretly wished for one of those cliché face-slapping Young Master situations before, and now one had practically delivered itself directly into his lap. A small smile slowly appeared across his lips as he decided to play along.
Sure, it would probably be ridiculously cringe, but it should also be fun.
Turning his head slightly toward a random clothing store staff member nearby who had paused to watch the unfolding scene, Asher calmly spoke, "I didn’t realize your establishment allowed beggars and dogs inside the building."
The young man standing before Asher immediately froze speechless while even the guards behind him became visibly stunned.
Nobody had ever dared speak to them this way before.
Asher casually took out a single copper coin from his System Inventory before tossing it directly toward the boy’s feet. The coin clattered loudly against the polished floor as Asher spoke once more.
"As a beggar, I know a single copper coin is no different from a thousand platinum coins to someone like you," his tone filled with pure condescension, "so bend down like the dog you are and pick it up with your mouth. If you impress me enough while doing it, I might even toss you a silver coin afterward." His voice arrogant.
