Chapter 2066: Chapter 2026: Ye Qiu Pays a Visit
Ye Qiu knew who they referred to as their higher-ups. Was it the couple, the Vice Mayor Zhu and his wife?
"Then go ahead and hit me!" Ye Qiu said.
He just sat there, appearing nonchalant.
The battalion commander of the criminal police looked at Ye Qiu’s arrogant demeanor, growing even angrier. He shut the door, ensuring the surveillance camera was off, and prepared to use torture to teach this reckless young man a lesson, instead of the Vice Mayor Zhu’s son.
Ye Qiu really just sat there.
However, the battalion commander had already signaled another officer.
But the officer said, "Commander Liu, this guy has some sort of connection with Captain Zhao. Doing this might not be a good idea."
The Captain Zhao he referred to was, of course, Zhao Ruxue.
Zhao Ruxue was the flower of the City Police Bureau, rumored to be a twin, and many young unmarried officers were interested in her.
But Zhao Ruxue never paid attention to those officers.
"Connection? What kind of connection? Is that supposed to mean something?" Commander Liu asked.
The officer also understood who they meant by their higher-ups.
However, he only intended to make a show of it, knowing he couldn’t offend either side.
"Are you going or not? First, handcuff him, then tie him up."
Handcuffs?
The young officer reluctantly went over to get the handcuffs, preparing to cuff Ye Qiu.
But when the handcuffs secured Ye Qiu, he still had that same look in his eyes, and the battalion commander also went to get the rope and directly tied up Ye Qiu.
Ye Qiu said, "You guys are doing great, but maybe you won’t be able to please those above."
"Kid, still clueless even now, don’t think just because you have some relationship with Zhao Ruxue, nothing will happen. This is my territory, and I could kill you with one hand!"
"Is that so? Then come on!" Ye Qiu replied.
Now, with Ye Qiu handcuffed and bound, Commander Liu thought that no matter how skilled the young man was, he wouldn’t be able to resist.
Ye Qiu noticed Commander Liu holding a thick electric baton, preparing to hit Ye Qiu with it.
The electric baton could shock and also be used to beat someone. It could easily take down an adult, but for now, they just wanted to hit Ye Qiu.
But before the electric baton could touch Ye Qiu’s clothes, Ye Qiu suddenly sprang up, and the ropes on him miraculously loosened. The handcuffs split into two halves and fell to the ground.
In the blink of an eye, the thick electric baton that Commander Liu held was now in Ye Qiu’s hand.
At this point, Commander Liu started to feel frightened.
As he turned to run out of the interrogation room, Ye Qiu turned the electric baton to its maximum voltage and shocked Commander Liu, who trembled all over before slowly falling down.
The young officer didn’t expect Ye Qiu to actually dare to attack Commander Liu, but the officer clearly couldn’t defend himself. Looking at Ye Qiu, he said, "I, I didn’t provoke you."
"Go call Captain Zhao over!"
The young officer hurriedly ran out of the interrogation room.
Looking at Commander Liu, who was on the ground but not yet unconscious, Ye Qiu kicked him a few times and said, "Don’t even think about messing with me. Even if you wanted to flatter your bosses, you wouldn’t dare treat me like this, understand?"
Commander Liu felt paralyzed and could only lie there.
It wasn’t long before Zhao Ruxue hurried over.
She had just heard that Ye Qiu had come to the City Police Bureau, but she wasn’t sure why he was here. Unexpectedly, he had been taken into the interrogation room by Commander Liu.
Upon hearing there was a fight in the interrogation room, Zhao Ruxue rushed over.
Seeing Ye Qiu sitting there, Zhao Ruxue asked, "Ye Qiu, what’s going on?"
"This Commander Liu broke the law, trying to use torture on me, but ended up getting shocked himself."
Torture?
Even though the higher-ups repeatedly prohibited using torture on suspects, some officers still resorted to such methods on suspects. This led to many suspects ending up dead when they left the police bureau or even the station.
Certainly, in Zhao Ruxue’s eyes, no matter what, how could they move her man like this?
"What happened to him?" Zhao Ruxue asked the officer.
The young officer stammered, not saying a word.
Ye Qiu didn’t pay much attention and walked out with Zhao Ruxue.
Once outside, Zhao Ruxue learned that Ye Qiu had beaten up the Vice Mayor Zhu’s son because of Li Qianqian.
Obviously, Commander Liu brought Ye Qiu here because of the Vice Mayor Zhu.
"How badly was he beaten?"
"Not too badly, just ended up in the hospital. The guy thought he could flaunt his relationship with his father here in Jinling, like in a small town. How could I let him off easily?"
"But the fact is, he’s still Vice Mayor Zhu’s son, and now you’ve assaulted someone, which is a criminal offense. I’ll first find out what’s going on."
Zhao Ruxue took Ye Qiu back to her interrogation room.
After making several phone calls, she learned that it wasn’t the Vice Mayor Zhu who ordered it, but his wife. So, it seemed this matter had little to do with the Vice Mayor Zhu.
If that’s the case, it could be handled more easily.
"It’s likely Vice Mayor Zhu didn’t order it, but his wife did."
Zhao Ruxue said.
Ye Qiu understood.
"So how do you think we should handle this now?" Zhao Ruxue asked.
"Isn’t this just a simple fight? Does that woman want my life?"
"Not necessarily. If it were an ordinary person, they might have already died a dozen times."
Zhao Ruxue said.
She was very aware of such matters, but now they happened to provoke Ye Qiu.
Who was Ye Qiu?
He had connections with Li Zhiguo, and even without that, Zhao Ruxue knew Ye Qiu wasn’t just anybody.
"Ruxue, you don’t need to handle this. I’ll go confront them now."
Confront them?
"Are you planning to hit someone again?"
"Of course not."
If he had known hitting someone would cause so much trouble, Ye Qiu would have known to use other methods.
"Alright then."
Ye Qiu left Zhao Ruxue’s office, made a phone call, and learned that Zhu Yunhui was actually in the hospital, so he took a car there.
Arriving at the entrance of a top-tier hospital, Ye Qiu got out of the taxi, went into the hospital lobby, and then up to a single, high-class ward on the fifth floor.
At that moment, Zhu Yunhui was inside, and so was his mother.
Ye Qiu knocked on the door from outside, and shortly after, a nurse came to open it.
Once inside, Zhu Yunhui, lying on the hospital bed, had actually woken up. At first glance, he saw Ye Qiu and felt an inexplicable fear, recalling how he was beaten up by Ye Qiu at the girls’ dormitory that Friday.
