Chapter 493: Meeting His Master Once Again

Jill gripped his arm as they started walking, their eyes adjusting to the sun. As for the people around them, they didn’t make much noise, something Laz found interesting.

Taking a look though, he could tell why without much question.

’They’re scared,’ Laz knew without question.

No matter how much they may have wanted to escape, there was the uncertainty that came with it and the fear that came with that uncertainty.

He noticed the people milling about without a direction as the troops just stood there and looked around nervously.

"Hmm... I wonder what the plan is?" Laz asked out loud, but no answer came.

Laz wandered over to Sylvia and Ivana who were standing close to each other and exchanging whispers.

’So what is the plan?" Laz asked as he walked forward.

"It should be here shortly... ah..." Sylvia said as she looked over and noticed a group of around twenty people approaching.

They wore regular style clothing, no much different than what you would see on a human. Underneath it though, Laz could see a flash a metal that seemed to easily bend and flex with their bodies.

’All of them have this liquid metal armor?’ Laz thought to himself when he noticed it, but he quickly forgot that bit as he noticed that each and every one of them had green hair.

’A’ruya?’ Laz’s thoughts raced as he checked out the faces of each of the women, of which there were far more than men, but he didn’t notice her among the group.

Sylvia and Ivana quickly walked forward but didn’t bow, instead placing their hands across their chests in some sort of salute, one that was returned to them by the newcomers.

"Well now things get interesting," Maia said, having walked up to Laz while he wasn’t paying attention.

"What do you mean?" Laz asked, still watching the group in case he missed something.

"We never told them about my ascension... so the fact that I am no longer just a god should come at a great shock," Maia said with a laugh.

Laz turned to look at the now fully grown goddess and noticed that she wasn’t wearing anything flashy, not like Ivana and Sylvia. Instead, she was dressed in normal attire, the type of which any of the other higher class citizens would be seen wearing. As for her hair, it had been tied up and covered with a cloth that seemed to be reflected in the hair itself, giving it a stable color. The only thing Maia wasn’t hiding was her eyes which still took Laz’s breath away when he saw them.

At this point, several guards hurried over and bowed low to Maia, asking if she was willing to join the conversation. Although she sigh, Maia still followed along, surrounded by guards.

Laz was kind of curious so with Jill in tow, he walked over as well, only to be stopped by a few of the green haired guards who had taken up a perimeter around those gathered. Laz noticed that this guard was actually in the void lord realm, something that kind of surprised him. He had never known what kind of level A’ruya was at and she was also the only one of her people he had ever really met. So when he came face to face with this guard who was weaker than him, it came as a bit of a shock.

"You’re not allowed to pass human," the guard said, clearly not sensing Laz’s level.

Since this was just a bit of Laz’s curiousness getting the better of him, he decided to not fight it out and instead made to back away.

:Don’t back down. Right now you need to be brave and arrogant,: came a familiar voice in his head.

Instead of backing off, Laz took a step towards the guard and smile before moving his arm forward.

Faster than the guard could react, Laz had his hand on the guards shoulder with such a strength that the guard couldn’t even move, his body unable to stop shaking.

"Sorry. I don’t like being told what I can and can’t do," Laz said before pushing the guard aside and moving forward.

Sylvia and Ivana were stunned while Maia had an amused look on her face, wondering just what Laz was up to.

As for the other guards and members of the delegation, they stiffen with several of them pulling strange weapons out from nowhere.

Jill still followed Laz, but there was a hesitation in her step. She could feel danger from these people, but she refused to be away from Laz.

While being glared at, Laz just walked up and stood beside Sylvia and Ivana who had taken a step back, leaving Maia to field the questions.

"Who do you think you are human?" One of the younger members of the delegation said when everyone else was too shocked for words.

"Your daddy?" Laz responded back with a smile although unsure how a human insult would work against these people.

The almost suppressed laugh in his head told him someone enjoyed the comment.

"Why you insolent little monkey," the spoiled young person said while raising his weapon at Laz.

The strongest of the gathered reminded Laz of Maia’s strength before her ascension, meaning it was just in the god level. While there was still a ways between Laz and that, this one before him was still at the void emperor realm.

Even then, Laz didn’t feel an ounce of fear.

One quick step forward and he was standing right in front of the proud you man who was still bringing his weapon to bare.

"At this range, a gun is useless. Even we humans know that," Laz said, his face right in front of the shocked man. As for how Laz knew the strange weapon was a ’gun,’ it was the voice which told him.

"You... you... animal.."

Laz didn’t even bother speaking anymore. He raised his hand and brought it hard against the man’s face, back handing him and sending him flying.

The two guards he crashed into were useless as they two ended up being knocked down while trying to stop him.

There was only silence as the leader of the group had gone speechless. Laz just walked back to stand beside a shocked Sylvia and acted like nothing happened. Ivana was about the same although there seemed to be a look of fear in her eyes.

As for Maia, she was now trying her best not to laugh out loud at Laz’s antics.

"HOW DARE YOU..." The leader of the delegation finally got out as his power began to rise, hoping to suppress Laz with the strength of his god realm.

Laz barely reacted but stared back at the man. While the strength of a god wasn’t something even a void emperor should be able to endure, Laz wasn’t just any old void lord.

"It seems my man had been a little heavy handed. You’ll have to forgive him Rakia. He doesn’t know proper etiquette it seems," came a voice as a portal appeared.

Out of that glowing ball of light walked seven people lead by the one who had been speaking to him from the beginning.

"A’ruya," Laz said, surprisingly happy to see her appear.

"Is that any way to address me?" A’ruya said with a slight smile.

"My apologies master. However, if I may, I believe my actions were rather justified. We have a saying here among my people, ’Play stupid games, win stupid prizes." Laz returned with a smile.

"Ah. Hmm.. yes. A rather just if somewhat crude saying, wouldn’t you agree Rakia?" A’ruya said, turning her head to the lead god who had been speaking to Maia.

"Princess A’ruya... why are you here?" Rakia said, although as politely as he could under the circumstances.

"Well, imagine my surprise when I found out my dear slave here would be returning with a race of our people in tow? I was waiting for the good news of their return but then I found out a group who had nothing to do with welcoming them had made contact first, almost as though you where waiting her for them. I can tell you right now that I was more than a bit surprised. So Rakia, why was it when you were alerted to the return of one of the mother’s offspring and her children did you not send out a general notice but instead rushed her first?" A’ruya’s voice had gone cold, something which was now fully directed at this man called Rakia.

It was now, in this moment, Laz could tell that A’ruya was much stronger than even Maia had become.

"Ah... still a long way to go it seems," Laz said quietly to himself only to notice a slight smile appear on A’ruya’s face before it vanished just as fast.

Rakia seemed frozen in place and unsure of how to answer. It seemed like whatever he came he for wasn’t something he should have came her for.

Just as the man’s whimpers turned into something that could almost be called a sentence, a noise like an explosion shook the ground, causing many of the civilians to stumble and fall.

"HA HA HA. IT’S TIME. I WILL SEE YOU ALL AGAIN REAL SOON!" Came a shout from the other side of the corn field as a man dressed in common attire flew up into the sky, followed by a few others and took off.

"MASTER!" Laz said, recognizing the green flame that had surrounded the man in the lead.

"No need to worry. We figured this would happen," A’ruya said with a smile as hundreds of figures appeared in the air, surrounding the escapes.

"Just leave the most important ones alive. Kill the rest."
