Chapter 442: Honey Trap

Laz looked out from the window with a frown. While he called it a window, the truth was there were branches growing crisscross over it, giving it the feeling of bars in a jail cell. While Laz didn’t doubt they would be kept in a holding area, this was just too blatant to ignore or explain away which was why the other’s gathered with him were understandably nervous.

Jill sat close to Laz and didn’t say anything while Ruth, Shelby and even Dave were close by. The werewolf group was off by themselves while everyone else was milling around, at a loss for what to do.

Laz turned to look at the large common room they had gathered in. The bed frames were made of wood while the mattresses seemed like a combination of plant fibers. As for how Laz knew this, he had checked the entire room over with his Heaven’s Gaze before to make sure nothing was strange.

"Are they going to kill us?"

"Why won’t they let us go?"

"Are they really like... elves elves?"

"Did you see the tits on that queen? Fucking epic man..."

"Shit no. I was still passed out... fuck I can’t believe I missed seeing a bit titty elf..."

Laz shook his head at the conversations going on, at a loss. While some were rightly concerned with the situation, some were not focusing on the right things at the moment.

"So what are we going to do?"

Laz turned around to see that the blonde leader of the werewolf pack had approached him.

"We?"

"You’re not one to die here if anything I have heard about you is real. Which means either you got a plan or your coming up with one. Look man, thinking has never been my strong suite. And these three are even worse than me. So while it goes against my pride... I figured sticking with you would be the safest bet."

"Uh. Well. Then. I’ll let you know after I come up with something."

"Sounds good. My name’s Troy. This here is Red, Ava and my mate, Kels," Troy said, introducing the members of his pack.

"Your mate?" Laz asked, questioning his wording.

"Well yeah. So as a pack, we have ourselves and our mates. We are part of a much bigger pack but since we are out on our own, I’m pack leader and they follow me. It’s normal for us to do this so usually the pack leader is the strongest of the group. Well, there is one exception, but that’s not important right now. Anyway, just let us know when you come up with something. We have no desire to die here..." Troy said with a look of determination on his face.

"Alright. Long as you listen to me, I’ll bring you along with what I do."

"Thanks man. Makes me feel bad that we were going to use my girls special ability to try to control you now, seeing as how your a pretty nice guy despite being so strong. Anyway, we’ll let you be with the thinking thing. Just let us know when you need us," Troy said, walking away with his group while leaving Laz in awe.

"Did they just admit they were going to control you?" Jill asked from behind him, equally shocked.

"Yeah. They did..." Laz responded.

"They are werewolves. It’s not in their nature to lie and they are pretty honest to a fault," Shelby said from the side after hearing the whole conversation.

"You know of werewolves?" Laz asked turning to look at her.

"Yeah. They are a pretty big group in this area. And they aren’t made either with means that the ones who are awakening as such had werewolf blood in their veins to begin with. In fact, it’s more strange to not be an awakened werewolf in this area than to be one... unless your family isn’t from around here," Shelby advised.

"How many we talking about?" Laz asked, just curious.

"Hundreds, maybe thousands. I’m not sure. But what I do know is they are all part of the same pact which confuses me."

"How so?"

"Cause when they talk about mates... aren’t they talking about relatives since they are from the same pack?" Shelby explained with a strange look on her face.

Laz immediately caught on to what she meant and understood why it would be weird.

While Laz’s head started going over how there could be so many of the same type of awakened in one area, the door to the large room opened and several attendants with trays of food came in, their transparent clothing instantly becoming the focus of every male and many females in the place. The way they swayed their hips and leaned over when setting down the trays on stands they had also brought in gave Laz a feeling of implied intention, one that seemed completely out of place.

While the normal guys were barely able to control themselves due to the hostile environment they found themselves in, Red and Troy’s eyes seemed to glimmer with desire, something their mates were quick to pick up on as Ava and Kels quickly stepped in front of them and brought their hands up to their necks.

Troy and Red both had the same reaction, looking down at their mates in confusion. In response, Ava and Kels brought their heads up to their mates necks and turned back to the attendants, growling.

’I’ve seen that before,’ Laz thought to himself.

’When wolves fight, their mates keep close to their necks as a bite there is the most fatal attack a wolf can suffer. I think the girls are reminding them that the attendants are enemies’ Laz thought to himself as he looked on in approval.

With their obvious reactions that Laz was noticing, he failed to notice the actions of someone closer to himself, one who Laz had written off since even he didn’t know how to deal with the situation the man was in.

Dave had been taken in by the sisters Ruth and Shelby from the moment he had offered them help. As such, he believed he was Ruth’s husband from that point forward. Despite that, Ruth had never let Dave have his way with her since that was far from what she found acceptable. During the times when he would get a little too out of control, they would use their combined strength to give him a dream that would make hookers blush and make him think it was real. But even if his mind had release, his body didn’t and since Dave was no monk, his body had a built up desire that was bursting at the seams.

And that was what lead to Dave jumping straight for the first attendant who got close to him and used her charms.

Laz had to admit, in terms of beauty, this elf that Dave targeted was a cut above the rest despite the high standards they already showed. In fact, she was only the third elf Laz had seen with golden hair since coming to this place, not that he had seen a lot for reference.

Dave jumped towards her, knocking over the food tray before Ruth or Shelby could stop him. His right hand gripped her neck while his left went for her clothing in an attempt to rip what little of it away that there was. The attendant let loose a scream of terror as she fell backwards, her hand slipping away from Dave’s grip as though it hadn’t even touched her. While it looked like an accident on her part and a slip up on Dave’s, Laz noticed her movements looked precise with more than just a hint of hand to hand combat training.

’This was a trap,’ Laz thought to himself before coming forward. He didn’t need to see Dave’s eyes to know that right now, he was not himself. While Dave might have had his memories messed with, it wasn’t enough to change who he was as a person and from drinking with him, Laz knew he wasn’t the kind of guy to lose control like this.

Sure enough, with Dave’s actions and the reaction of the golden haired elf, the other attendants grabbed razor sharp knives, a mix of wood and metal, out from beneath their transparent garments and pointed them at the awakened who stood in shock all around the room.

Releasing their aura’s, it was apparent that each of them were already in the void palace realm.

"I can’t believe you would..."

’She talks. Of course she can talk...’ Laz thought before interrupting her while grabbing Dave and sending some force into his body causing him to go limp and pass out.

"Oh no... he’s gotten sick and passed out. How terrible that he fell on you miss while doing so. Are you ok?" Laz said, setting Dave down on the bed and reaching a hand out to help the elf up.

...

...

...

Silence filled the room.

Laz didn’t even try to act like he believed what he was saying. In fact, it was clear from his voice that he lacked any sort of emotion to go with what would have been a rather shocked and apologetic statement.

The problem was that if the elf on the floor attempted to pursue the subject, then she wouldn’t have had anything to prove her words since Dave had clearly passed out and no one had noticed Laz’s actions of making him do so. In fact his actions even looked like he was trying to grab a man who was falling despite Dave’s arms swinging in front of him like he was attacking her just a moment ago. If one really wanted to stretch their imaginations, one could say that it almost looked like he was trying to catch himself. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Had Laz tried to be a little more convincing, the act might had worked.

But he didn’t because he didn’t care about trying.

After all, this whole set up was their idea in the first place and trying to honey trap the guys into doing something was the show they started.

They put in lots of effort, Laz didn’t.

And yet there wasn’t anything to pursue.

’This wasn’t part of the plan,’ Genevieve thought to herself after seeing Dave passed out. Obviously the charm she had used would have had him trying to come at her like a ravenous dog finding meat. But with him passed out, his behavior could almost be associated with someone having gone faint.

’If it wasn’t for this bastard I might even believe it. And now he’s reaching out a hand to help me?’ Genevieve thought, having to stop her hand from going to her neck.

Just as Genevieve was about to take his hand and continue the act, a booming voice came from down the hall.

"I WANT TO SEE THAT BASTARD THIS INSTANCE."

Somehow Laz got the feeling that the bastard meant him.
