Chapter 332: Stalker
Dean was still doing pool side duty thanks to the lack of life guards currently. Not that he cared really. Although he got tips for working the bar at night, there was something to be said about being free at night after having put in your days worth of work.
Of course getting a tan was also a nice bonus.
As for the person manning the other tower, it just so happened to be Red today. Perhaps having a pretty female to look at would sound preferable to most guys, but Dean didn’t mind working opposite of Red. Most of his best wardrobe advice came from his sexual harassing co-worker. And it just so happened that today, Dean was enjoying listening to Red commenting on what the guests decided to wear.
To be fair, Red never commented just on people’s body types. But he was quick to point out when someone wore something that they were not suitable for. In Red’s opinion, every body type could be sexy, but you had to dress it right. Using the walkie-talkies, they chatted back and forth.
"I’m telling you, that blue with those skin tones?" Red began, his eyes focus on one of the guys who just got out of the locker room.
"At least he has the ass to back it up," Dean shot back, seeing the target.
"That’s what I’m trying to say. With buns like those, he should be in a speedo and a smile," Red said, winking at Laz.
"Not every guy with a nice ass wants to wear a speedo."
"Honey. I’m not arguing that point. But just cause they don’t want to doesn’t mean they shouldn’t deny us the pleasure of seeing that," Red said with a laugh.
"You enjoy this job way to much..." Dean commented.
"Oh. This one’s for you hun. Look at that piece of perfection. Nothing fancy, nothing outrageous. Just a simple two piece and the body that would make anything become perfection," Red said, this time facing the girls locker room. Red might have his own tastes, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t appreciate both sexes.
Dean looked over, only to see the tanned goddess in a two piece who seemed to be looking around. Just when Dean was about to turn his head away, he noticed the woman seemed to look right at him, smile and walk over. Dean actually thought she was going to come right over and talk to him, but she just found an unoccupied chair and took it for herself, before rubbing herself down with oil.
Dean felt like it took a lot of effort to turn his head, but when he finally did, he noticed Red was staring right at him with a smile on his face.
"Don’t even say..."
"Looks like we have finally found your type. It’s about time..."
"She’s not my type. I just felt like she was looking right at me..."
"Boy... I’d better never hear you use a pick up line like that again or I will slap the stupid right out of you," Red said with a half serious, half smiling face.
"Ok then. You tell me what you think she is doing here..."
"Tanning?"
"Fine. Whatever. Maybe I am being paranoid."
"I’m glad you see it and it didn’t take a court of law to make you understand."
"I hate you."
"I love you."
Dean knew that Red had a point and that he was over reacting. After he mentioned it, Dean noticed that the attractive woman never even looked his way. Instead, she was just tanning, like Red had said.
’Must be my imagination,’ Dean said and looked back at the water. Had he been able to see the face of the woman underneath her hat that she had laid over her eyes, he would have noticed her smiling.
In the days following that incident though, Dean really felt more and more like he was being followed though. Whether he was life guarding, working the bar, or the few days he filled in for the tennis instructor, he noticed that the same woman would always, somehow, be near him. The only time he didn’t feel that way was when he was in his own room. His buddies, Mike and the gang, started to notice him looking over his shoulder when they hung out.
"You guys ever feel like someone is following you?" Dean asked them. He hadn’t mentioned this again after speaking to Red about it, but now he couldn’t hold himself back after two weeks of this.
"All the time man. It’s the government. They are always watching you," Stevo said with a serious look.
"Why do you think I always masterbate without covering my computer’s camera. Figured these guys should enjoy it too," Jason added, obviously joking.
"No. I mean for real. See that girl over there?" Dean pointed to where his stalker had taken lunch by herself, three tables away from where Dean and the guys were sitting. In the more exclusive restaurants, the employees weren’t allowed. But for the more casual dinning areas, the employees could choose to buy their lunches instead of whatever was being served in the regular dinning area. It costed more, but it was worth it. The entire club was like a large campus type area, with several dinning facilities.
"Wow."
"Damn dude."
"There is no way she is following you bud. Give it up. A hottie like that who comes to a place like this? She’s got money and no need for a boy toy like you," Mike said with a smile.
"But like, she’s always around me no matter where I am working. And although she comes and goes, she’s usually always there. Isn’t that strange?"
"Then go talk to her," Jason said, as a matter of fact.
"What?" Dean said back, surprised.
"Dude. You can interact with the guests, just don’t be hitting on them. If you think she is following you, then go say hi, introduce yourself and find out. It won’t hurt," Jason finished, looking straight at Dean.
"Or follow her?" Mike said, thinking he had his own brainstorm. Stevo and Jason both shook their heads, but Dean was nodding.
"Yeah. I could do that..." Dean muttered. Stevo and Jason just looked back and forth between the two of them and shook their heads at the same time, wondering how their friends could be that stupid.
Since Dean was lost in his own thoughts, he didn’t notice the disapproving stares from his friends. Instead, he was thinking about how he would go about following this woman who was always following him.
’It would have to be when I get off from work and head back to my room?’ Dean reasoned. The only time he was left alone was when he was in his own place. Otherwise, this woman was always there. Therefore, he needed to act like he was heading home, then drop back to follow her. Maybe he would find nothing. Maybe she just went back to her own room after hanging around him all day. He couldn’t stop what he was doing during those few times she wasn’t following him around so this was the only thing that made sense.
The next night, he had bar tending duty. Although he ended up working until closing time, he noticed again that she was around almost the entire night. While her dark hair and tanned skin wasn’t noteworthy in the sea of guests who also enjoyed their time in the sun, her tight, flat stomach, long, firm legs and impressive breasts made a much greater impact. Even her ass had a bit of bounce to it, showing just how well she took care of herself. Needless to say, during the times at the bar, Dean noticed many guys approached her. While she spoke to all of them casually, she never once got up to dance with any of them. In fact, more often than not, she saw them leave with a mixture of shock and anger on their faces. Dean would have killed to have known what she said to them after only a few minutes to get that reaction.
After his shift ended, he did his normal clean up and then started walking for his room. There was one point he noticed. Once he hit a certain pathway, she would no longer be following behind him. So this time, when that happened, Dean ducked off to the side and hide in the bushes, running along to see if he could catch site of where she disappeared to.
While the night was dark, the pathways and trails were all well lit with guests going everywhere. This was a club that went all night in some areas.
Dean had to run back and scan the crowds, but he eventually found who he was looking for. The hat she wore, while looking quite fashionable, also helped her to stick out in a crowd. Dean just sat there and watched her while she stood around underneath a lamppost and checked her watch several times.
’Is she waiting for someone?’ Dean asked himself before he noticed a rather tall, well built man come walking by and stopping right in front of her. It was clear that she was exchanging words with him and they were talking back and forth. Dean then saw her laugh and almost bend over from doing so. While the man’s back was turned to Dean so he didn’t see his face, it was clear that she was seriously laughing at whatever he had said.
’Obviously I have been completely wrong about this whole thing,’ Dean thought. Although he wondered why he hadn’t seen this man with her before, it was clear to him that there was something going on. After she finished laughing though, she turned and started walking towards the luxury guest rooms suites while the man followed quickly behind. It was only for a brief moment, but he noticed that the look on the man’s face was anything but pleasant.
’There is something seriously wrong here,’ Dean thought as he got up from his hiding spot and went to follow them.
After doing so for a time, he finally figured out the problem. The woman was ignoring the man, but he kept following her and speaking. This didn’t just seem like a lovers spat since she she never looked at him once. Instead, it seemed like he was harassing her. Once this thought occurred to Dean, he suddenly felt like he needed to protect her for some unknown reason.
Just when Dean was about to leap out and say something, the woman turned off the main trail to her building and went down a rather isolated and not well lit back area behind a storage building.
’Oh shit!’ Dean thought and speed up. Going through his mind was a thought like ’She must have been so annoyed she forgot where she was going...’ and hurried his run, rounding the corner in record time.
He couldn’t have been more wrong about what the situation actually was.
Famine knew that the man who was following her had bad intentions. As opposed to leading him to where she actually was staying with her sisters, she instead decided to scare him a bit before knocking him out in an area without surveillance where people couldn’t see.
She was going to make sure he gave up this stupid pursuit.
As soon as they were out of earshot and visual range, she turned back to her pursuer who seemed to have gone insane and quickly swept his legs out from under him before lifting his body up by his neck with her one hand.
"I never want to see your face again. If I do, I promise you, my smile will be the last thing you see before going to whatever hell awaits you in the afterlife," Famine said with a coldness to her voice that seemed to frost over the stone around them.
The man’s eyes widened as he grasped at her hand, only to find it was hard as steel. He was quickly fading out of consciousness and felt the world going black.
Just as his body became limp, Dean rounded the corner and saw a site which made his brain go silent and numb. Watching the man’s limp body suspended in the air by a woman who was as least a hundred pounds lighter than him caused all of his functions to shut down.
Dean couldn’t even move.
It was only now that Famine noticed Dean had appeared there. While it was unexpected, she suddenly understood his intentions and smiled, tossing the passed out man to the ground and trotting up to Dean with open arms like she wanted to hug him.
Dean couldn’t help but take off running the other way as soon as his legs would listen.
