The two might have shared a similar root, but their path of evolution was different.
Grimrace was born from a regular Shadow Elemental Spirit, which was constantly being exposed to the dark and tainted mana of the Corrupted Cult, corrupting him and turning him into an Abomination that possessed psychic powers.
He then underwent a series of evolutions after following Shin and had now become an Eldritch Psychic Spirit.
In the meantime, the Abomination Shadow Spirit that Diablo contracted with was a demonified elemental spirit, which was a product of fusing a demonic creature and a regular shadow spirit.
It was yet another abomination from the Elemental Beings.
It was a product that Diablo had gotten from Lucifer after accumulating a lot of merits for the organization.
He was not sure where Lucifer had gotten it, but it was indeed an extremely powerful Abomination Elemental Spirit.
Diablo was not fond of using it due to its connection with the Pandemonium Descendants, which reminded him of the unpleasant memories.

Along with the Ancient Shadow Powers that he already possessed, he was now capable of using dual energies when utilizing his unique Mana Manipulation Method. This was also a signature feature for those at the top of the god-level players.
With the help of these newly found powers, he was not afraid of using the elemental possession meant for his demonic abomination spirit without restraint.

The transformation of his stiletto might look rather ordinary when compared to the dagger in his right hand, but the true effects of this possession were its effects on his body.
Previously, he was a player with a Transcendent Race, the Underworld Elf.
He was no ordinary Transcendent Race either, since he carried a demonic power before, which made him a demonic player to a certain extent.
