Chapter 82: The Tables Have Turned
Rika suggested helping me take a bath, and I didn’t reject it since I’m exhausted. "Did the lady enjoy her date with the young master?" She asked while scrubbing my head. Right, she doesn’t know that all of these are only an act.
"Yes, he treated me to some ice cream and smoothies."
Rika celebrated as if that was something to celebrate. "That’s so sweet of the young master." Really? That’s the definition of sweet for Rika?
"Not really."
Rika looked at me after I said that. "Wasn’t that sweet for the lady?" I nodded. It doesn’t matter if his actions were sweet, if he didn’t mean it then what’s the use? "What does the lady want the young master to do then?"
’I want him to leave me alone.’ That is what I thought but there’s no way I can actually say that. "I can’t think of anything," I said as I closed my eyes and tried to relax. I’m getting used to having this queen service from Rika, I don’t think I’ll be able to take a relaxing bath again without Rika scrubbing my body.
After bathing, I went to bed and cuddled with the pillows. ’I hope Night won’t come home yet so that I can enjoy this peace for a while.’ I thought as I closed my eyes and started falling asleep. The bed was too comfy that I didn’t know how long I was asleep; I only woke up when I felt something heavy on my body.
When I opened my eyes, what greeted me was Night’s sleeping face. It was his arm on my waist that’s why I felt heavy. ’Why is he sleeping so close to me?’
Wait! I didn’t drool did I? I checked my mouth, and thank god I didn’t. ’Why am I even worrying if I’m drooling or not?’ I rolled my eyes at myself as I try to get Night’s arm off me, but he only pulled me closer to him and now I’m literally right in front of his huge chest. ’Why is he naked right now?!’ I thought as I tried to get away, but it was useless. "What time is it already?"
I can’t even look at the wall clock because Night’s huge body is on the way. "Hey, wake up." I tried to push his chest but my eyes widened instead after feeling his hard chest. ’W-What’s with his body? It’s like he’s built like a tank.’ "I can’t move." The moment I said that Night cuddled with me even more causing me to freeze due to surprise.
’This isn’t good for my heart.’ I thought as I kept pushing him away even though it was useless. At least, I need to face the other way because if I keep facing him he might see my red face.
When I succeeded in turning around, Night pulled me closer to him and I felt something hard behind my back. ’What the?’ I thought as I tried to feel it with my hand but I still can’t think what it was. "What is this? Did he put a gun on his body while sleeping?" I asked myself. Maybe he doesn’t trust me that’s why he did that. But then I heard him chuckling.
"Do you like groping my thing?"
My eyes widened as I quickly pulled my hand back after hearing Night say that. "I-I didn’t know! And when did you wake up?"
"After you asked what time it is."
’So he’s been awake this whole time?!’ I thought as I could feel my whole body heating up. "Could you let me go now?" And to think that I’m touching his lower part casually like that! I really didn’t mean to touch him like that okay! I was afraid that he might be hiding a weapon.
Night pulled me even closer to him. "No, you thought that my thing was a gun." He said directly to my ear with that deep voice of his causing me to feel ticklish. "Did you really think that this thing was a gun, huh?" Why is he suddenly like this?
"M-Move away!" I kept trying but I can’t push him off and he keeps making me feel ticklish which caused me to break out a laugh. "I’m serious! Stop it." After I said that, he suddenly went on top of me and I froze due to shock. ’I don’t understand what’s going on.’
Night smiled. ’HE SMILED. HE FREAKING SMILED. THIS GUY DOESN’T SMILE SO WHY IS HE SMILING AT ME RIGHT NOW?’ "You don’t like it?" He asked and left me speechless. ’Don’t be fooled. All of it is an act. He’s not like this, this isn’t him.’ I thought as I cleared my throat.
"Yes, now please get off me."
Instead of getting off, Night placed his weight on me and literally lay on top of me. "Oh my god! Get off me."
"I can’t. I’m too tired."
I scoffed as I can’t believe this guy. Is he really that same person that will always click his tongue at me whenever he sees me? He even despises being in the same room as me but now he’s literally clinging onto me.
"What happened to you ignoring me? Did you discard that idea?" I asked but as if he couldn’t hear, Night didn’t answer. ’This jerk!’ "Why did you even ignore me if you’re going to act like this even though no one’s watching?"
Night didn’t answer again. "Why do you keep texting that guy named El?" He asked.
"Why should I answer that?"
"Why should I answer you too?"
This jerk, really! I’m not obligated to answer his question since it’s none of his business, but he should answer mine because it includes me. "Will you get off now? If you don’t want to answer my question then don’t, but get off me." I said as I push his body off.
"Why? Don’t you like me?"
I scoffed again, he’s unbelievable. "Do you think I’m still in love with you after all the things you did to me? The hurtful words you said?" Night looked into my eyes after I said that. "Do you think I’ll be obsessing over you forever? Chase after you like a dog?" He couldn’t say anything back which made me feel like an idiot. I got up and pushed him off but he grabbed my arm stopping me from getting off the bed.
"What?" I looked at his hand and a thought came into my mind. It’s a ridiculous thought. "What? Did you fall in love with me? That’s why you’re acting like this despite no one watching us?" The silence was the only answer Night gave me.
"What if I say that I am?"
I can’t stop scoffing at him. It’s ridiculous. "Wow, really? You know I don’t understand how I fell for someone like you before. I was dumb." I said as I pulled my arm back. I’m not feeling good because of his ridiculous jokes.
"You said you hate seeing El and me together because you don’t want to see me happy while you suffer because of my situation. You pointed a gun at me when my world broke into pieces thinking that my parents are gone. You left me alone in the darkness, you didn’t answer any of my questions. So that’s how you define love?"
I know I should stop, but the hateful feelings I’ve gathered like pieces of trash during my time here started pouring out. "You told me to not get ahead of myself because you hate me too. Guess what? I hate you, no, I despise you." Stop, stop saying words you’ll regret. "I hate that I liked you before, I hate that I wasted my years chasing you. I want to get along with you, but I also can’t forgive you." My heart felt heavy even after saying all of that.
Night was just staring at me and didn’t say anything. "So if this is all an act for your sister, stop it. I’ll do the rest so stop." I stood up and started walking out of the room. I’ll probably regret telling Night how much I hate him, but I don’t like his actions.
Sometimes he’s acting cold towards me, then he’ll act all clingy as if he likes me. It’s confusing, and I don’t want to hope for something else. ’I won’t like him anymore. Anyone but him.’ As I walked into the hallway, I bumped into Mizuki who looks like she was playing with Taka’s airplane toy.
"Oh! Onee-chan!" She greeted me and hugged me. "Shiho onee-chan wants to talk with you before, but you were sleeping," Mizuki added which made me smile. ’That’s right, just smile and pretend that everything’s alright.’ I told myself as I followed Mizuki. It’s already dark outside, I wonder what time is it now.
Maybe I shouldn’t rely on the Yamaguchi-gumi too much, maybe I should start investigating things on my own. That way I can speed things up and I don’t have to live in this place anymore, I don’t have to lie to my friends again, and I don’t have to meet Night. ’That’ll be for the better.’
