Chapter 63: Last
My forehead creased. "Italian mafia?" Why would an Italian mafia chase after me? "Are my parents in debt to those people?"
Asahi shrugged. "We don’t know, milady." B-But if that’s not it, then why? It made me remember the text messages I received.
"I-I received weird messages."
Night looked at me after I said that. No, not only him, they all looked at me. "If I may, let me see." Asahi said as I gave him my phone and he viewed the said messages. "If it’s alright with the lady, may I borrow your phone for a whole day? We must track this number and find clues." I agreed. It’ll be best if they can find the sender of that message and if it is connected to the people after me, I know grandpa Kenta will find a way.
Still, I want to talk to my mom and dad before I go to Japan with these people. "I’ll apologize in advance," Kenji said as he holds onto my phone while we go out of grandpa Kenta’s office.
"Why?"
Kenji showed me my phone. "I might accidentally read some information through your phone. That’s why I’m apologizing to the lady beforehand." He said with a smile. ’Why does he looks like he’s not apologetic at all?’
"Anyway, young master, please go to the dojo with the lady." Dojo? The place where they forbid me from going because that’s where their people train. Why do I need to go with Night there?
"Why do I have to go there?"
Kenji looked at me with confused eyes. I should be the one getting confused. He moved closer to my ear and whispered. "It’s your chance to talk to the young master," Kenji said making me raise an eyebrow. What makes him think that I want to talk to Night? He’s already ignoring me, so why do I have to go and bother myself?
"I don’t have anything to say. Just take care of my phone and don’t break it." I said as I turned my back on them. "And also, don’t read messages as much as possible."
"Why? Are you hiding something?"
I looked back to Kenji and I also saw Night who was just staring at me while standing beside Kenji. ’What’s his problem this time?’ "Yeah. I’m going to curse you if you purposely read the messages I receive." After saying that, I went to my room. Today was exhausting and I just want to sleep, but Rika was already waiting in my room and she popped a party popper as soon as I entered.
"Congrats, young miss!" She said with a wide smile on her face. "I’m so happy for you." It made me smile because of that.
"Thank you."
Rika then cleaned the mess she created with the party popper before I could even say anything. "Shall I help the miss with her bath? Or does the miss want to sleep first?" She asked that as if she already knows that I’m tired. "The oyabun said that if the young miss passed the semifinals, we’ll celebrate more." What? Grandpa already made me celebrate with my friends, and I think that’s already enough for me.
Due to grandpa Kenta’s sudden summoning, Tomoe said that she’ll teach me the last lesson later so I can still take a nap. "Please wake me up before 6 pm," I told Rika as I lay on the bed and the moment I closed my eyes, I quickly fell asleep.
"Young miss! Please wake up."
I can feel someone shaking my body but my eyes won’t open. "Stop it."
"It’s already 5:50! You need to wake up before 6 pm." I heard Rika saying. Right, the bridal lessons. "Lady Tomoe wanted to say something to the miss before starting today’s lesson too." Today’s lesson huh? To be honest, I don’t even know what I learned from that bridal lessons.
’It’s useless. I don’t remember anything except for the fact that Tomoe hates me.’ I thought as I got up from the bed. My body’s telling me to sleep more, but who am I to rest while Tomoe’s waiting for me?
I washed my face and Rika helped me change my clothes. "Shall I tie the miss’s hair?" I shook my head. I let my hair down as I walked to the hallway and towards the garden where we’ll be doing the said lessons.
After that r18+ lessons that she taught me (which I don’t even remember), I don’t think she’s doing these lessons seriously at all. ’I know it’s rude of me to think like that, but I really can’t see the connection of these lessons to being Night’s wife.’ Although grandpa Kenta’s not saying anything so I guess I might be wrong.
When I arrived in the garden, I saw Tomoe sitting on a chair with a huge and bright smile on her face. She’s holding onto Night’s arm while she talks and Night’s standing beside her. ’What are they talking about?’ That is what I thought as I hesitated to go to where they are.
It’s like I’ll ruin their time with each other, Night’s not minding Tomoe’s hand on him either. It makes me feel like I’m the one ruining their relationship. No wonder Night’s ignoring me.
’I don’t want to go.’
I took a deep breath as I walked toward the two of them. The moment Tomoe took notice of me, the smile on her face vanished. ’Of course. I’m the one blocking their relationship. I’m a relationship destroyer.’ I thought as I forced a smile. "Good day, lady Tomoe." Her expression shows how much she hated me appearing in front of them. "I-If we won’t have lessons for today, I’ll leave." It’s not like I wanted to be in this place more than being in my room.
"I’ll go." Night said. I saw how Tomoe’s grip on Night’s arm tightened.
Night then pulled Tomoe’s hand off his arm and he left the garden without saying anything else. He walked passed me as if I wasn’t there. ’Talk about weird.’ I thought as I smiled at Tomoe, but she sure looks like she was not amused. "You may sit." She said and I sat in front of her. ’Well, this is awkward.’
"Uhm, did I disturb your time with the young master?"
"Yes, you did."
I pursed my lips after hearing that. ’What am I supposed to do then? She’s the one who called me here.’ It was too awkward and all I did was fiddle with my finger while looking down. "Actually, you already know everything so there’s nothing left to teach you." Tomoe showed me that fake-ass smile of hers as she stood up. "That’ll be all. I wish you good luck with your marriage." She left me in the garden dumbfounded.
"W-What?"
I woke up from my deep sleep just to be told ’good luck.’ "Wow, I can’t believe this." My eyes widened as I stayed sitting there. It’s infuriating but at the same time, it’s amazing. How should I even describe what I feel right now? It is my first time being treated like this.
"Young miss?" I turned to Rika who just arrived in the garden. "Where did lady Tomoe go?"
’That’s what I want to know too.’ I stood up from my chair. "I’ll go back to sleep." Tomoe truly hates my guts, and I’m trying my best not to hate her back since it’s all my fault anyway.
"Does the miss want some ice cream?"
"Yes, please."
The next day, it’s the last school day of the year. "Hey, why didn’t you reply to my text yesterday?" Andy said as soon as we got back from the assembly. After the assembly, the students are free to go and leave, but our classmates aren’t leaving at all.
"Oh, my phone’s on the repair that’s why I don’t have it."
Andy frowned. "Really? Then you’ll go with us to the ice cream parlor, right? Ace said she wants to treat you." He said making me smile wide. I’ve been wanting to ask them to hang out too since it’ll be our last day and I won’t be able to spend Christmas with them.
It’s already the 20th of December, and tomorrow I’ll be going to Japan to prepare for the wedding. It’ll be on the 27th of December. ’What will my friends say if they knew about that?’
"Right, can Kaoru come with us?"
Andy nodded. "We’ve been used with your little pet anyway. Also, Carla and Maris want to come too. That’s fine right?" I nodded. It’s been great since I’m also close to Maris and Carla now. My circle of friends is expanding; it’s making me happy.
I made Kaoru text Kenji about us going out, and Kenji didn’t have a choice but to let me go. "It’s nice to finally go out with you guys." Ace patted my head while I clung to her arm with a huge smile on my face.
"Where will you spend your Christmas anyway?" Andy asked as we enter the ice cream parlor. ’Here we go again with lies.’ I thought as we sat down.
"I’ll be coming to Japan with Kaoru’s family."
Ace and Andy looked at me. "Really? I guess you won’t be able to spend it with us." Andy said and I nodded.
We talked about random things and about how we’ll be spending our holiday. It’s simple but really fun. ’I hope every day could be like this.’
