Chapter 121: Chaotic Mess
Noelle’s POV
"What’s taking them so long?" Andy asked while playing with his water. We’ve been waiting in this VIP room for a while now. "Don’t you think those guys ditched us already?" He asked.
Ace chuckled. "Why would they ditch us? They’re the ones begging to be with Noelle." She said.
Does she really need to use the word ’beg’? They weren’t begging, they just want to be with me because for some reason I don’t understand.
"Don’t worry, milady. They’ll come." Kenji said. "In the meantime, do you want to order food now?" He asked with that sparkly clean smile. Why is he acting as if he’s kind?
Kenji was about to go out and call a waiter so I followed him. "You’re not seducing Andy, aren’t you?" I asked him and he laughed. Did I say something funny?
"Why are you laughing?" I raised an eyebrow at him.
Kenji giggled again. "It’s because you’re wrong again." He said.
"What do you mean?"
He smiled at me. "It’s the other way around."
What does he mean by that? I don’t understand. "Milady!" However, I couldn’t ask when someone rushed to me and disturbed our talk. Kaoru hugged me and caught me off guard.
"What happened?" I asked as I looked at the people behind him. El’s smiling from ear to ear, while Night’s surrounded by a dark aura.
"Let her go, now." Night commanded, but Kaoru clung to my arm and hid behind me.
"M-Milady, the young master’s scaring me," Kaoru said making me sigh.
"Stop it now and go inside," I said as I hold Kaoru’s hand and pulled him inside the room. Why does this feel like I’m taking care of a younger sibling?
"Why do you have to hold Kaoru’s hand?" I felt Night’s hand on my other arm as he stopped me from entering the room. "Must you really touch other men in front of me?"
I raised an eyebrow. I’ve been trying to handle his moodiness the past few days, but this is beyond my control.
"That’s enough," I said. "I’m not yours. I can do whatever I want to do, so stop getting on my nerve and get inside."
Kaoru immediately let go of my arm in fear as I could see Night’s aura getting darker and his expression turned cold. ’Is he angry at me right now?’ I almost scoffed if it wasn’t for Andy who pulled me just in time.
"What’s with this atmosphere?" Ace asked the moment we all entered inside. "Did something happen?"
El quickly laughed it off, trying to distract Ace. "It’s because Notte right here couldn’t control his emotions." My forehead creased.
’Notte? What is that?’ I thought while El smiled at me.
"Ellie, what do you want to eat?" He said as he sat beside me, completely ignoring what he just said the first time.
"Me! I want to eat this steak and pasta." Andy said with his hand raised.
That’s when Kenji arrived with the waiter, but when he noticed how gloomy his young master was, his eyes immediately landed on me.
"Kenji, you should sit here." Kenji’s smile widened as he sat beside Andy.
’What is that guy thinking?’
Because of what I told Night, he’s keeping quiet with an emotionless face. He’s making things awkward for everyone but I guess he doesn’t care about that. When the food arrived, Andy became too excited that he couldn’t control his mouth again.
"I remember when I first ate steak with Ellie and her family." Andy started reminiscing about the past and I let him do whatever he wants because I don’t have any problems with what he was saying.
"Back then, Ellie has a crush on that adorable boy in our class. We were in 5th grade at that time. She invited that boy to eat steak with us and even wanted to invite his parents but she was completely rejected." Andy started laughing while my eyes went wide open.
I don’t remember doing that!
"Then the next day we heard that boy talking that he was weirded out by Ellie, and so Ellie went home crying. It was really funny."
I glared at Andy. "Why are you telling them that? I don’t even remember."
Andy shrugged as he shoved a whole piece of meat inside his mouth. "This steak reminds me of your innocent days. Although you’re still innocent, chasing after men that don’t like you back." He said as he smiled at Night.
"Ellie doesn’t need to chase me though," El said with his hand raised.
"Excuse me?" I was confused. What does he mean by that?
"It’s because I’m the one chasing after her." He said proudly. "Then, if you don’t mind. Would you want to go on a date with me tomorrow?"
"WHAT?" Ace and Andy reacted while I was too stunned to speak.
’How could El just spout things like that? In front of everyone? In front of Night?’
"Let’s talk about it later," I said as I could feel the atmosphere getting heavier with Night’s gaze on me.
"Why not now?" I looked at Night after he said that. He’s staring at me with those emotionless eyes as if he’s back to that person I saw before. To that person who aimed a gun right at me.
"Do you feel ashamed of it?" He asked.
Why does he always use such a hurtful way of asking me?
"Fine, I’ll go tomorrow," I said due to annoyance. I wasn’t thinking, but I wanted to defy Night the most. If he thinks he can control me, then he better thinks again.
"Great!" El celebrated while I continued eating my food.
’I can’t taste anything.’
I could hear Andy’s voice, and he keeps talking to Kenji. Ace is just eating quietly beside me while Kaoru looks like he’s having a hard time swallowing.
"Are you okay?" I asked Kaoru and he flinched as he slowly pointed to Night, making me look at him.
That’s when I noticed how angry Night looked. He’s grinding the meat in his mouth too loud while glaring at me. ’What does glaring at me will do? I already agreed to go on a date with El.’
"You love chocolate mint right, Ellie?" El asked all of a sudden. "Their gelato here tastes so good. You should try it."
I nodded with a smile, and El ordered some for me. Things were getting a little better, and Ace started questioning El about what he said regarding the date tomorrow.
"Do you really like Noelle?" She said after hearing El brag about how he met me like I was a stray cat that captured his attention. "If you’re only playing with her, you better stop now." Ace said but El shook his head.
"I’m not playing. Why would I play with Noelle?" El smiled at me.
Does he really need to stare at me while saying that?
"If Noelle likes me back, I’ll be really happy." The way he said that made me feel guilty. It was genuine, his words and his tone. It’s like... he really likes me.
"I would root for this guy rather than that other guy." Ace whispered into my ear making me frown. ’Who does she mean with another guy?’
"If you want Noelle to like you, you should make her friends like you first, isn’t that right, Andrei?" Andy who was happily talking with Kenji was forced to join in the conversation.
"That’s right! I can’t let my Ellie be with someone I don’t approve of." So does he approve of Night? "After being hurt a lot of times, even she doesn’t realize it. I feel so bad for our Ellie." Why is Andy fake crying in front of everyone?
AND WHEN DID I GOT HURT LOTS OF TIMES?
"What are you talking about?" I said as I drank water because I feel hot with all these talks.
"Didn’t you cry a lot when Night first rejected you back in our first year?"
I spat my water out to my side causing it to splash on Kaoru. "I-I’m so sorry." I quickly apologized as I wiped Kaoru’s face. He looks like he’s about to cry and I really feel bad because of that.
"Do you want me to accompany you to the washroom?"
"Kaoru can handle himself." Night interfered. "I am more interested in your friend’s story. Tell us more." He said with still those bleak eyes, even though it feels like he was really interested. Was it because Andy mentioned his name?
Andy shook his head. "I won’t tell it to Night since you’re the one who broke my girl’s heart." He said.
"Then, am I allowed to know? I’ll be the one tending to Ellie’s broken heart." El said with his hand raised again.
"Who said her heart’s broken? Stupid." Night said just enough for all of us to hear.
El then chuckled. "Who’s the one who can’t control his mood? That’s why you don’t have any friends, Notte."
"What did you say!?"
I sighed as I only focused on my gelato. What’s the point of stopping them? They won’t listen to me anyway.
"That’s bad, Notte," El said while clicking his tongue. "You shouldn’t raise your voice to someone that actually wants to become your friend." He added.
Andy and Ace were looking at me as if telling me to stop them, but what I did was ate. I came here to eat so I’ll leave as soon as I’m finished.
"What do you think about just spending the day in our house? I think it’s too loud in here." Ace said and so I stood up. It’s a chaotic mess with those two here.
"I agree."
