Chapter 119: Rivals
My eyes widened as I was about to hurry and change clothes. "Where are you going? You should take a bath first." Leslie said while holding my arm. "Those boys can wait. We can’t let you catch a cold." She said and Ericka agreed as they pulled me into the shower room.
What should I do? Night’s being moody again the other day, and he even became stricter with me when teaching the basics of their martial arts.
’He’ll probably sulk if he sees El right here.’ I thought as I sighed.
Why do I feel like I’m handling a child whenever I’m with Night? It’s like I gained a child that I didn’t even give birth to.
"Annoying."
"A-Am I annoying?" I looked at Ericka because of that. "I’m so sorry for being annoying."
"No! It’s not for you!" I quickly said, letting my towel go causing it to fall and exposing my naked body to all of them.
"Oh my!"
I immediately pulled my towel back with my face as red as a cherry ready to be popped. "I-I’m sorry for flashing my body like that."
Doreen gave me a thumbs-up. "I actually like it." She said making me blush even more. We finished showering and I changed into dry casual clothes.
"Talk to your suitors well." My teammates bid me farewell and told me that we’ll be celebrating next time since some of the members are busy with their classes since our finals are just around the corner.
’I need to study too.’ I thought as I went out and was greeted by El who looks like he’s been waiting for a while.
"Hi." He greeted me with a huge smile on his face.
I smiled after sighing. "You really came, huh."
El approached me and ruffled my hair. "Of course. I don’t want to miss watching you win." He said while still messing with my hair. "Should we go celebrate, or are you going with your teammates?"
"She’s going with me."
I quickly grunted inside my head after hearing Night’s voice. ’He won’t pick a fight with El right now wouldn’t he?’ I looked at El to see how he was reacting, but he was smiling from ear to ear.
"Then, should the three of us go and celebrate?" El asked with that bright smile as if he doesn’t care about Night at all.
"No way—"
"That’s alright with me." Night said with a calm and composed manner.
’What did he mean alright with him!? There’s no way any of this is alright with that Night Yamaguchi.’ I thought, but El pulled Night’s arm and mine so I can’t escape now.
"You like meat right, Ellie? We should go to this restaurant I know. They serve delicious steaks." El said while holding my hand, but Night pulled me towards him.
"Why should we go there? I would rather eat seafood." Night said.
My forehead creased hearing that which made me lean to his ear. "Don’t you hate seafood?" I asked.
"Yeah, but I hate that guy more." Night whispered back as he pointed to El, causing El to tilt his head in confusion.
"What are you guys whispering about? Let me in too." El said with that bright smile. "I like Ellie too, and I really want to spend time with her. But Night’s here and she likes Ellie too."
What is he saying right now?
"You like Noelle?"
El’s smile turned into a cheeky one. "Oh, you didn’t know? I basically confessed to her but she only wanted to be friends right now." He emphasized the word ’right now’ making me almost slap my forehead.
Is he doing this on purpose? Is El really trying to annoy Night? If he already knows that Night might be interested in me, why is he provoking him?
"That must be because of me." Night flaunted a wide smile. The first smile I saw from him in a week. "I apologize for being too cool that Noelle doesn’t find any other man gorgeous except for me." He said almost making me gape.
’Is this really Night? It’s the first time I heard him say the word ’gorgeous’, and it’s making me feel dumbfounded.’
El didn’t want to lose as he pulled me closer to him. "Really? I don’t think you’re that gorgeous at all though. You also don’t have a nice personality. Girls will come to hate you if that keeps up." He said.
The tension in the air started rising and I don’t know when are they going to stop arguing with themselves.
"If you two are just going to keep arguing, then forget about celebrations. I would rather study in my room."
"Then I’ll teach you! / I’ll help." The two said in chorus making me look at them as they glare at each other.
I sighed. "Are we going to eat or what?"
El raised his hand. "Of course! Let’s go to that steak place." Night was even trying to retort but I squeezed his hand, trying to stop him from making things more annoying than this.
We’re literally holding hands, the three of us on the way to that restaurant and it’s embarrassing. The other contestants that saw us coming out of the indoor swimming pools where we had our semifinals were all gawking and I feel like they were whispering about me.
"Wow, you look like you’re enjoying yourself." Andy stood in front of us before we could reach the gate. "I thought I was late, but I guess you’re going on a date? What is this threesome—" He immediately received a slap on the back after he said that.
"What the fuck are you spouting to Noelle?" Ace glared at Andy because of what he said. "Don’t taint my angel’s mind." I heard her whispering to Andy’s ear making me tilt my head. What does that mean? And when did I become Ace’s angel?
"What does threesome mean?" I asked and the four of them looked at me with wide eyes. "What?"
Ace pushed Night and El away from me as she holds onto both of my arms. "Don’t ever say that word, EVER AGAIN." She said firmly.
"But why?"
Andy laughed, causing Ace to give him a bonk on the head again. "That hurts!" He was ignored after that.
"Because it’s dirty. Come on, let’s go and eat somewhere," Ace said as she holds my hand.
"Actually, I’m about to eat with these two." I pointed to Night and El.
Ace raised an eyebrow. "Oh yeah? Then those two should treat us, right Andrei?"
Andy cleared his throat as he smiled. "That’s right! Oh, and could we call Kenji too?" He asked making my forehead crease. Why would we call Kenji?
"He’s already waiting near the gate." Night pointed to the black luxurious car waiting outside the gate. "He’ll take us to the restaurant." He added.
El then clapped his hand. "Really? What a nice guy."
When we arrived in front of the car, we realized that there are six of us, and only four could fit in the car. "I didn’t know you’ll bring friends, young master," Kenji said while Kaoru just came out of the car.
"It can’t be helped." Ace said. "You three should commute." She pointed to Night, El, and Kaoru.
"Eh? Why me too?" Kaoru asked, but he got ignored while Ace waved her hand at the three of them and pulled Andy and me inside the car.
"What are you waiting for, driver?" Ace was being mean today, but Kenji looks like he didn’t mind being treated like that. Is he actually a masochist?
"Are you seriously leaving us?" El asked while Kenji was just preparing to drive away. "It’s fine for me, but this guy looks like he’ll sulk soon." He pointed to Night, but his hand got smacked away by Night causing him to look at Night.
"What was that for? It hurts!"
Kenji smiled at El. "Don’t worry, Kaoru’s with you guys. He’ll handle Night." It was the first time I heard Kenji calling Night’s name instead of ’young master’, although it doesn’t matter.
"Kaoru, I’ll leave it up to you." He said.
It looks like Kenji’s enjoying this too. Does he want to see his young master suffering? I think Kenji’s the type to enjoy seeing people suffer, but wouldn’t mind if he suffers with them. He’s a sadist but also a complete masochist.
"Hey, can I sit on the shotgun seat?" Andy asked with an oddly sweet voice.
Kenji stopped the car and said, "Sure." With also a weirdly gentle tone. ’What is happening?’
"Andrei, I’m warning you." Ace said even though I don’t understand why she would warn Andy like that. "You’ll get hurt if you keep that up." She said while glaring at Kenji, but Kenji just let out a giggle as if he gets what Ace is talking about.
Wait! Enough about that. "Are you sure those three would be alright?"
"Why yes, of course, milady," Kenji said but it sounded like a mockery. "Kaoru’s with them anyway. Do not worry too much. The young master won’t hurt a civilian."
Is that so? I guess I’ll trust that.
