Chapter 115: To Become Stronger
"What are you doing?"
I opened my left eye and saw that it was already dark. When I looked behind, I saw that the lampshade was already turned off.
’Wait... did Night just turn off the light while I was expecting him to kiss me!?’ That was so embarrassing! I slammed my back on the bed and covered myself with my blanket.
"Were you expecting a kiss from me?"
"O-Of course not! W-Who would expect a kiss from—"
Night pulled the blanket off my face and stared at me with those beautiful black round eyes. He’s holding onto the blanket and I can’t take it away from him. My heart was pounding too loud that I’m afraid he’ll be able to hear it.
"I would if you will let me, but as I said, I don’t want to do anything you’ll hate." He smiled as he patted my head. "Let’s sleep and talk again next time."
With that, I was left with my eyes wide open as Night lay on the bed beside me and started dozing off. How am I going to sleep with my heart still wanting to come out of my chest?
’Calm down, Noelle. No need to feel embarrassed. Anyone would assume that because of Night’s unpredictable actions.’
I thought to calm myself down. As soon as the tension lowers, my body temperature also lowered and I felt sleepy. My eyes couldn’t keep up and they shut close.
When I woke up, I was already facing Night and he was staring at my face.
"Good morning." He said with that deep husky voice and a gentle smile on his face.
"G-Good morning," I said but suddenly a thought came into my mind.
How long was he staring at my face?
I couldn’t stop myself from checking if I drooled in front of him but I heard Night chuckling.
"What are you doing wiping your mouth like that?" He asked making me feel my face heating up.
Night patted my cheek. "You look loveable no matter what."
I covered my face with both hands after hearing that. ’I’m too shy and I did drool. How am I going to show my face to this guy anymore?’
"Aren’t we going to be late?" I asked with still my hands on my face. It’s back to school and I’m back to training too for the semifinals.
"We don’t have school today."
I peeked. "Why?"
Night pointed to the window, and that was the only time I realized that it was raining cats and dogs outside. Due to Night’s good looks, I wasn’t able to notice my surroundings quickly.
’That’s it. It’s probably because I’m not used to being stared at the moment I woke up.’
"Do you want to eat breakfast here?" Night asked as he get up from the bed, making me realize that he was shirtless again.
"I’m not wearing a shirt because I get hot easily." He explained while I avert my gaze. It’s not the first time I see him with no shirt on, but I can’t get used to it.
Night put on a shirt as he opened the door. "Get breakfast for Noelle." He said to whoever was outside that door.
Why am I acting as if Night and I didn’t make out already in the past? ’How innocent am I?’
"Do you want me to raise the temperature inside? It’s getting colder." Night said as I saw him shiver and he even sneezed.
"I think it’s because you slept with no shirt on that’s why you feel cold right now." It’s not even that cold inside this room. "Where are you going?"
Night turned to me. "I’ll be doing training inside the training area."
"Aren’t you going to eat?" A smile formed on his face as he crossed his arms. He leaned on the wall and looked at me with those somewhat annoying eyes.
"What?"
Night chuckled as he walked towards me. "Do you want me to eat with you?"
I felt my face heating up. "T-That’s not what I’m trying to say!"
Night shrugged. "Fine. I’ll eat with you." He said as he called Kenji inside the room. "Bring a table and chairs." Kenji immediately obeyed and brought the said table and chairs for us to use.
"Don’t be shy to admit that you want to spend your free time with me."
I frowned. ’Why does he keeps saying those things? He’s making himself misunderstand my actions.’
I sighed. "Suit yourself."
We ate our breakfast together and Night’s been oddly attendant towards me. He keeps making me eat even though I’m already eating saying that it’ll help me gain strength.
’I know that already. Why is he bothering himself?’
"I’ll be training in the training grounds so I won’t be with you for a while." He said the moment we finished eating breakfast.
"May I watch?"
Night looked at me with eyes wide. Why is he so surprised? It’s not like I haven’t watched him back in Japan.
"Sure, if you want to see me that badly." Why is he saying it like that? "I’ll be going first, just tell Kaoru to accompany you to the training grounds." He said as he left the room and Rika came inside.
"I must dress the young miss really pretty today!" Rika said with blatant determination. "It’ll be the first time the miss will watch the young master train." Not really, but I let her assume what she wanted to assume.
With that, I took a bath for almost an hour making me think that I wouldn’t be able to be in time for Night’s training, but Rika was enjoying herself so I can’t retort.
When I finally finished, Rika told me that Kaoru was already waiting outside to guide me toward the training grounds. "Also, since the young miss will be coming, lady Shiho and lady Himari are also in the training grounds," Rika added.
That doesn’t sound good, but I didn’t mind.
I walked out of the room and Kaoru greeted me with enthusiasm. "It’s a lovely morning, milady." He said as he leads the way to the training grounds.
The members of the Yamaguchi-gumi greeted me with a bow as I pass their way so I smiled at them in response.
"Did the lady woke up in a good mood today?"
"Not really. Why do you ask?"
Kaoru shrugged. "Because the lady’s smiling like normal even though something bad happened yesterday." He said without control.
Should he really be reminding me what happened yesterday? Even though it wasn’t that scary when Z started talking to me. But when I was abducted, it felt like I was going insane due to fear.
"Ah! I apologize if it reminds the miss of something scary."
I shook my head. "It’s fine, but avoid doing that again to someone that went through something... fearful," I said and Kaoru quickly nodded.
We walked in the path towards the training grounds. It’s raining cats and dogs; I think there’s a typhoon coming again. The path’s a little wet because both sides are part of the backyard and don’t have a roofing.
"Do I have to remove my shoes when I enter the dojo?"
Kaoru nodded. "Yes, that’s a rule, but if it makes the young lady uncomfortable then—"
I shook my head. "No, I was just making sure since I think it’s uncomfortable wearing these wet slippers inside," I said with a smile causing Kaoru to smile with me.
When we arrived in front of the dojo or the said training grounds, all members inside were making a fuss the moment they saw me.
"The lady is here in the dojo."
"I wonder if she’s feeling alright?"
I ignored those words and just smiled since I can’t understand them either way. "I came," I said as I entered the dojo and Night greeted me while sweating buckets.
"You’re here." He smiled making everyone that saw that go silent.
’It must be their first time seeing the young master smile like an idiot.’ I thought. Even though he might be acting.
"Where do you want to sit?"
"Besides—"
"Here!" Makoto quickly cut me off despite wearing a judo uniform himself.
"No skipping." Night firmly said to Makoto, but when he turned back to me, he flashed a gentle smile. "Sit beside my sister." He said and I just nodded as I sat on the floor beside Shiho.
"Good morning, Noelle." Shiho greeted me with that beautiful smile of hers. "Did you sleep well?"
I was about to nod an answer, but I remembered that Shiho won’t be able to see. "Yes, I slept well," I said. Even though I’m worried about what happened because I was weak.
What should I do to improve and be strong like Night? Should I start training my body in this dojo like him? ’Wait... that’s not a bad idea.’
"What do you think about me learning self-defense?"
Shiho turned to me. "Yes? Noelle will learn self-defense? How?"
I smiled as I stood up from the floor. I raised my hand to catch their attention. "What is it?"
"I want to learn martial arts."
All eyes went on me. "WHAT?"
