Chapter 224: Chapter 168: Jiang Yixia and Sifan’s Change of Attitude
That evening.
Lu Fan returned to Jinling. Before that, he had already asked his assistant, Jiali, to arrange the itinerary for tomorrow afternoon’s trip to Huang Mountain.
Naturally, he didn’t have to worry about a thing. He just had to bring Jiang Silu along with him tomorrow.
Just as he was thinking about how he could use this opportunity tomorrow to foster a better father-daughter relationship with Jiang Silu, he unexpectedly received a message from Jiang Yixia.
Jiang Yixia: [Since you’re going to Huang Mountain tomorrow, you should know that Silu gets cold easily. Remember to bring some extra warm things. I just reminded her as well.]
Lu Fan was surprised that Jiang Yixia would actually message him with a reminder. He replied: [Okay, no problem. Do you want to come with us? I can have someone pick you up.]
Jiang Yixia: [No, that’s okay. You guys go ahead.]
After sending the message, she thought about all the effort Lu Fan had put in for the children these past few days. She also recalled what Sister Li had said that evening, and wondered if maybe she should try to let go of some of her old grievances.
So, she continued typing: [Let me ask you something.]
Lu Fan: [Go ahead.]
Jiang Yixia: [Are you just looking to experience the warm feeling of a family, or do you really want to come back to the family? Don’t lie to me.]
Lu Fan: [Yixia, please believe me. I really do want to come back to our family. If you don’t believe me, I can sign a prenuptial agreement. If I ever cheat again, I’m willing to leave with nothing.]
Of course, these were just words meant to placate her.
Lu Fan’s assets had long been properly and legally arranged.
So signing that prenup wouldn’t affect him at all.
It was just a way to give Jiang Yixia some peace of mind.
Hearing Lu Fan’s words, Jiang Yixia was still skeptical, but considering his behavior over the past few days, he really had changed a lot compared to before.
’Maybe he really has repented.’
At this thought, Jiang Yixia finally relented: [Okay, that’s enough for now. Be careful when you and Silu go hiking.]
Jiang Yixia: [Silu told me she hopes the whole family can watch the sunrise together one day. I also hope you can hold on until the day you earn our son’s forgiveness.]
Lu Fan: [So, do you forgive me?]
Jiang Yixia: [I don’t know.]
Even though Jiang Yixia’s reply was "I don’t know," this was already a huge breakthrough.
After all, when he had first seen her two months ago, her tone had been so firm and resolute; she would never have hesitated like this back then.
Lu Fan: [I’ll keep working hard. I believe that one day, the four of us will be able to watch the sunrise on Huang Mountain together.]
Jiang Yixia: [Mm.]
After their chat ended, Lu Fan sighed with emotion. "Looks like all my hard work these past few days hasn’t been for nothing."
He didn’t feel tired at all now. On the contrary, he felt more motivated than ever.
If it weren’t for his affair back then, he might have had a very happy family long ago.
It was his mistake that had caused the mother and her two children so much hardship.
It was only right that Lu Fan put in this much effort now.
He had even decided that after this hiking trip, he would invite Jiang Silu over to his house.
He wanted her to experience the life of a pampered young heiress.
Later that night.
After Jiang Silu finished her painting, she started packing her bags.
Song Miaomiao leaned over the side of her bed, watching Jiang Silu stuff things into a bag, and asked curiously, "Lulu, are you going somewhere tomorrow?"
Jiang Silu nodded and replied, "Mhm, I’m going to Huang Mountain tomorrow afternoon. The plan is to watch the sunrise the next morning."
The moment she said that, Lu Yao, who had been watching a show, immediately perked up. "Lulu, who are you going with? Which guy? Is it a new boyfriend?"
Jiang Silu answered awkwardly, "I’m going with my dad."
"Oh, so you’re going with Uncle Lu. This time, the three of us won’t be with you. Won’t it be awkward going out with just him?" Lu Yao asked.
Jiang Silu shook her head. "I don’t know if it’ll be awkward or not, but he said he wanted to take me to see the sunrise."
Seeing how awkward Lu Yao’s questions were, Liu Shiting deliberately cut in, "Your dad is so good to you. My dad never takes me on outings alone."
Jiang Silu didn’t say anything in response, just silently folded her clothes.
After all, their parents had doted on them ever since they were little.
Her father, on the other hand, had only started compensating for his absence in the last two months, after he acknowledged her.
If she had to choose, Jiang Silu would have much rather had his companionship throughout her childhood.
When she was little, Jiang Silu had always been incredibly envious whenever she saw other children acting cute with their fathers.
But thankfully, things were changing.
Now, it was other people’s turn to be envious of her.
It would be a lie to say she didn’t feel a secret thrill from it.
At that moment, Song Miaomiao asked curiously, "Does your brother know?"
Jiang Silu’s movements paused for a moment. "I haven’t told him yet," she replied.
Lu Yao shook her head. "Maybe you shouldn’t tell your brother. With his temper, he’d probably explode if he found out."
Jiang Silu smiled. "It’s fine. We’ve always been close. Deep down, he’s actually okay with me making up with Dad."
Liu Shiting noted that tomorrow was the weekend. She also remembered that Lu Yao had made a special trip to the School of Science and Technology to find Jiang Sifan.
’The two of them must have met,’ she thought. ’If I don’t make a move, Lu Yao might actually beat me to him.’
So, she took the initiative and said to Jiang Silu, "By the way, Silu, I’m going to the School of Science and Technology tomorrow to hang out with a classmate. I’ll be bringing some pastries I made. Do you want me to bring some for your brother?"
Jiang Silu heard this and nodded. "Sure! You can just contact him directly when you’re there."
Hearing this, Lu Yao’s curiosity was piqued. "Shiting, you added Silu’s brother’s contact info too?"
Liu Shiting was very open about it. "Yes. I heard from Sifan that he was starting a business, and coincidentally, my dad wants me to research some startup projects too. So I shared some of my dad’s business insights with Sifan, and we chatted about it."
