Chapter 467: Chapter 465: A Threat?
Seeing the crowd’s soaring enthusiasm, one of the disciples couldn’t help but frown. "I don’t think we’re a match for him," he said in a low voice.
"Hmph, what’s there to be afraid of? We all received inheritances from the Ten Thousand Swords Sect in the Sword Tomb and had breakthroughs in our strength. If we join forces, do you really think we need to fear one Shen Haoran?"
"Exactly! The trials in the Sword Tomb are based on one’s individual strength. With Shen Haoran’s power as a mere Tier Five Spirit Marquis, it’s impossible for him to have received any decent inheritance, even if he passed. Why would we be afraid of him? Besides, this time we have Brother Bai from the Nine Que Sect to stand up for us. You know, Brother Bai is a Tier Nine Spirit Marquis, so the inheritance he got from the trials definitely won’t be weak."
"I also just heard that the inheritance Brother Bai received this time is the One Sword Asura, which only Direct Disciples of the Ten Thousand Swords Sect can cultivate! That powerful Sword Light we saw before at the sect gate—that was the One Sword Asura!"
"Really?" Hearing the words of the Martial Artists around him, the previously hesitant Martial Artist began to waver. He also knew about the Sword Tomb’s inheritances; they were completely determined by one’s own Cultivation. Shen Haoran, at only Tier Five Spirit Marquis, definitely couldn’t have gotten a good one. If Bai Li really did obtain the Secret Skill, One Sword Asura, then snatching their things back might not be impossible after all.
"Alright then. When Shen Haoran comes out, we’ll take back what’s ours together!" At this thought, the disciple no longer hesitated and nodded firmly.
Having made up their minds, they all turned their gazes toward the Cyan Stone Tower, waiting for Shen Haoran to appear. However, they stood beneath the tower for three days without seeing a thing.
"Why isn’t Shen Haoran out yet? How long has it been?"
"Could it be that he knows we’re waiting for him out here and is too scared to come out?"
"I bet he didn’t get a good inheritance and is too embarrassed to come out. Or maybe he got himself killed by the entity in the Sword Tomb’s trial during the process. Knowing his personality, that’s entirely possible!"
Everyone began to guess the reasons for Shen Haoran’s absence, each theory more outlandish than the last.
BUZZ...
Just as the crowd was chattering, the Cyan Stone Tower, which had been still for three days, suddenly began to tremble. Rings of ripples appeared at the base of the tower, and then a gate of light materialized before everyone’s eyes. Immediately after, a dark figure slowly walked out from the gate. It was none other than Shen Haoran.
"He’s out! He’s out!" Seeing Shen Haoran emerge from the Cyan Stone Tower, the Martial Artists standing before it erupted into a commotion.
Shen Haoran stepped out of the gate of light. When he saw the large group of Martial Artists gathered together and the excited looks on their faces as they saw him, he was a bit stunned. He looked at the crowd with a strange expression and muttered to himself, ’Are they here to welcome me? There’s no need for such a big fuss!’
However, Shen Haoran soon realized that the atmosphere was off. Not far away, Ling Feng was repeatedly winking and making faces at him, seemingly trying to send a message. And while the Martial Artists looked excited, it was the kind of excitement one would have upon seeing a naked beauty appear before them—as if they wanted to tear him limb from limb. This made Shen Haoran even more confused. ’Have these people lost their minds?’
"Shen Haoran, you’re finally out. We’ve waited so long for you!" Bai Li said indifferently, stepping forward as Shen Haoran approached. The Martial Artists behind him also stared at Shen Haoran with cold expressions.
"Waiting for me? What can I do for you? Don’t tell me you want to be my underlings too?" Shen Haoran said casually, glancing indifferently at the crowd.
"Be your underlings? You think way too highly of yourself! We were waiting for you, but only for our Storage Rings and the treasures you stole from us. Now, we’re taking back what originally belonged to us!" Bai Li sneered.
Hearing this, Shen Haoran finally understood why this group of Martial Artists was giving him a collective "welcome." ’So that was their plan.’ He just snorted coldly, his gaze sweeping over the crowd as he said disdainfully, "You want to take back what’s yours? Hmph. I wonder who gave you the courage?"
"Courage? Hmph. Stop pretending, Shen Haoran. If it weren’t for the fact that we needed you to open the Ten Thousand Swords Sect’s gate and the path to the Sword Tomb, do you really think we would have submitted to you? Who do you think you are? You’re just a Tier Five Spirit Marquis. Do you think this many of us would be afraid of you?" Bai Li said coldly to Shen Haoran, his tone filled with disdain.
"That’s right! If you weren’t the only one who could open the Ten Thousand Swords Sect’s gate, why would we have given you our Storage Rings? That was blatant extortion! I suggest you hand over the Storage Rings right now, or don’t blame us for what happens next!" the other Martial Artists shouted in unison. As they spoke, powerful auras erupted from their bodies. These auras were much stronger than before they entered the Sword Tomb; it seemed they had gained quite a few benefits inside.
"Oh? So this is the source of your confidence?" Shen Haoran sneered, sensing the auras of the Martial Artists.
"No. Their confidence comes from me!" Hearing Shen Haoran’s words, Bai Li suddenly stepped forward. The aura in his body erupted completely, directly suppressing the auras of the other disciples. A powerful gale spread out with him at the center. The presence of a Tier Nine Spirit Marquis was now on full display.
"Oh, is that so?" Shen Haoran’s eyes narrowed as he felt the aura coming from Bai Li. ’This Bai Li certainly hid his strength well.’
The other Martial Artists stared at Bai Li with fiery eyes, their hearts pounding with excitement. ’As expected of a disciple from a First-class Sect,’ they thought. ’His strength alone surpasses all of ours combined! It looks like Shen Haoran has no choice but to hand over our Storage Rings today!’
"Hand over the Storage Rings, and all the treasures! Of course, that includes your Storage Ring and any treasures you obtained. Otherwise, don’t even think about leaving this place alive!" Bai Li said, looking down on Shen Haoran with a cruel smile playing on his lips.
Hearing Bai Li’s words, cold smiles appeared on the faces of the surrounding Martial Artists. ’Well said!’ they thought. ’Make Shen Haoran hand over his Storage Ring and the treasures he got from the Ten Thousand Swords Sect, too! Let him have a taste of what it feels like to have his own things stolen!’
"And if I don’t?" Shen Haoran, however, didn’t seem to care in the slightest. He gave a casual shrug and replied nonchalantly.
"If you don’t, then all the better. I learned a new Martial Skill in the Sword Tomb, and I can test its power on you!" Bai Li sneered. With a wave of his hand, a silver longsword abruptly appeared, and a chilling Sword Light instantly flared from it.
"One Sword Asura! Brother Bai is going to use One Sword Asura!"
