Chapter 454: Chapter 452: Sword Tomb

The hundred-zhang-tall giant was an extremely conspicuous sight within the Ten Thousand Swords Sect. The disciples inside the ruins all stared curiously at the giant, which was formed from coalesced Spiritual Power, and began chattering amongst themselves.

BOOM!

Just as the crowd was in the middle of their discussion, the once-still, hundred-zhang-tall giant of Spiritual Power suddenly raised its hands. A Spiritual Power Longsword materialized in its grip, its blade aimed at the heavens. Then, before the astonished eyes of the crowd, it plunged the sword into the earth. In an instant, a deafening sound erupted, and the entire Ten Thousand Swords Sect began to tremble violently, as if struck by an earthquake.

RUMBLE...

A series of thunderous booms echoed throughout the Ten Thousand Swords Sect. Gradually, from the spot where the giant stood, the cyan spire of a tower slowly emerged. Soon, the entire structure had risen into view.

SWOOSH SWOOSH SWOOSH...

As the Cyan Stone Tower came into full view, innumerable lights burst from its surface. The glare was so blinding that everyone couldn’t help but shut their eyes. When they opened them again, they were stunned by the incredible scene before them.

In the sky above, countless sharp longswords shot upward, then fell as swiftly as raindrops, creating a veritable shower of blades. Everyone could clearly feel the sharp Sword Qi, even from a great distance. The spectacular sight left all the people in the ruins speechless with shock.

The shower of swords in the sky lasted for several minutes before it finally subsided. The sharp Sword Qi that had permeated the ruins also dissipated at last. Everyone present heaved a collective sigh of relief. Under the pressure of that sharp Sword Qi, they had felt as if their very souls were about to be pierced.

"What is that cyan tower?"

"I don’t know. Someone must have triggered some mechanism, that’s why it appeared!"

"Could this be the ultimate treasure of the Ten Thousand Swords Sect? We’ve searched for so long and found nothing. Maybe the people of the Sect hid everything inside that cyan tower?"

"I don’t know. Whether it is or not, let’s go take a look!"

After seeing the cyan tower, the Martial Artists within the ruins, as if by common consent, abandoned their search and sped towards it.

"Boss, what do you think? Are we going?" Changmao asked quietly from his perch on Shen Haoran’s shoulder.

Shen Haoran nodded. "We’re going. I have a feeling that the greatest secrets of the Ten Thousand Swords Sect might be hidden inside this Cyan Stone Tower."

With that, Shen Haoran and Changmao sped toward the Cyan Stone Tower. In an instant, every Martial Artist in the ruins began to converge on the structure.

A short while later, Shen Haoran and Changmao arrived near the Cyan Stone Tower. When they reached the location, they found their path blocked by a Sword Forest.

It was less a Sword Forest and more of a Sword Sea. As far as the eye could see, the ground was densely packed with Sharp Swords of all shapes and sizes. Their razor-sharp blades reflected a cold light, sending a chill to the very heart of any onlooker.

’Are these the swords that erupted from the Cyan Stone Tower?’ Shen Haoran marveled, gazing at the Sword Sea. His eyes were irresistibly drawn to the Cyan Stone Tower, his mind filled with curiosity.

SWISH SWISH SWISH...

As Shen Haoran was studying the Cyan Stone Tower, more figures arrived before the Sword Sea. Upon seeing the sight before them, they all couldn’t help but gasp in amazement.

"Junior Shen!" Just then, Ling Feng arrived. Spotting Shen Haoran standing near the front, he walked right over.

"Senior Brother Ling, do you know what this Cyan Stone Tower is?" Shen Haoran asked with a light chuckle as Ling Feng approached, gesturing toward the tower.

At his words, Ling Feng looked up toward the nearby Cyan Stone Tower and shook his head. "I don’t know," he said. "But this Cyan Stone Tower is clearly no ordinary artifact."

Shen Haoran nodded in agreement. He could sense an incredibly ancient aura emanating from the Cyan Stone Tower. It must have been passed down from the Ancient Era. The aura it gave off was so powerful that even Shen Haoran’s heart pounded in apprehension.

’Hm, are there words on it?’ Shen Haoran suddenly realized that the cyan light flowing across the surface of the Cyan Stone Tower was beginning to gather. A moment later, two large, ancient words materialized in the light, visible to all.

"Sword Tomb!"

Staring at the two ancient words on the Cyan Stone Tower, every Martial Artist before the Sword Sea was left gawking. The very air seemed to freeze, and it became so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

A moment later, however, their breathing grew heavy and ragged. They stared at the Cyan Stone Tower with eyes full of feverish desire, as if gazing upon a beautiful, naked woman.

"The Sword Tomb... It’s really the Sword Tomb!" The disciples’ faces flushed red, unable to hide their frantic excitement.

A sharp glint flashed in Shen Haoran’s eyes. ’The Sword Tomb... This is the most sacred place for a Sword Sect. This is the ancestral land of the Ten Thousand Swords Sect! A Sect’s ancestral land is typically a place of utmost secrecy. Only past Elders, Sect Leaders, and those who have made immense contributions are qualified to be interred there. The Sword Tomb of the Ten Thousand Swords Sect is just like that—not a place that just anyone can enter.’

’Those who could enter it were, at a minimum, peerless geniuses or beings of immense power. The Sword Tomb is also unique in that it preserves the consciousness of the dead, allowing it to serve as a trial ground. This way, the deceased can use their lifetime of experience to benefit future generations. The Sword Tomb is, in essence, the very foundation of the Ten Thousand Swords Sect.’

’Judging by its state, it must have been sealed by the leaders of the Ten Thousand Swords Sect before the great war of the Ancient Era. Now, for some reason, it has reappeared in the world.’

"And here I was saying there was nothing valuable in the Ten Thousand Swords Sect! To think the Sword Tomb was left behind. Looks like our luck is pretty good!"

"Yeah, all the inheritances of the Ten Thousand Swords Sect must be inside this Sword Tomb. This trip wasn’t a waste after all!"

As they gazed upon the Sword Tomb of the Ten Thousand Swords Sect, a flicker of greed flashed in every disciple’s eyes. If they could obtain the legacy within, it would be like acquiring the accumulated power and knowledge of the Ten Thousand Swords Sect from over hundreds, if not thousands, of years.

"What are you waiting for? Let’s go!" Some of the disciples could no longer restrain themselves. Without a second thought, they charged toward the Cyan Stone Tower, terrified that if they were a moment too late, someone else would seize the legacy within the Sword Tomb.

However, the moment they charged into the Sword Sea, disaster struck. The once-silent sea of blades suddenly began to hum. A few blinding flashes of Sword Light tore through the air, shooting directly toward the charging disciples. A massive spray of blood erupted, and in the next instant, those Martial Artists had been reduced to headless corpses...
